I've searched these sites quite a few times. Sometimes you can find some quite interesting pieces, however as you say they are very fragile in the shale. I live a little further down the valley and I've found the surrounding sandstone to be quite productive, producing some beautiful lepidodendron specimens, often very large. I've got a few in the rockery that are over 30cm in diameter. The river, especially in the upper reaches can be a good shout for these. Great to see someone out on the tips :)

Interesting place Barry

Trigona bivalves are one of my favourite. They’re common in withington and the south coast. I found an amazing quality one in kimmeridge!

I was on the previous trip to withington. It was great! Tons of bivalves and some massive ones! It’s where I decided to travel the country and teach about palaeontology.

Been to Steeple Ashton ,it’s surprising how much coral is there ,had some lovely pieces

The fossil at 12:40 could be an orthoconic nautiloid, or a conularid. The gastropods fossils are great-I hardly ever find carboniferous gastropods
