i played this with him in 2009 with the polk all county band. 7th chair french horn out of 9.

The bassist is Jon Paul and is very talented. He has launched a music career in the band Basic Vacation and they have a new song "I Believe" produced by Atom Factory/Capitol Records. They are very good! Do a search on youtube for Basic Vacation - I Believe and check out their video.

This is really funny....we just performed this song in our All-County band with Dr. John C. Carmichael. Did he tell you all the finger painting stories and such?

We play the full version of the cowboys the year before and I loved the mallets which is why I boarded them all lol started off with a nice entire scale as a pickup note on xylophone :-)

Just a quick question... Did the trumpets drop the high "d" towards the end - about 30 sec from the end? But (since im a trumpet player who played this song but was 3rd at the time) I absolutely loved the trumpets in this piece. High notes galore towards the end XD

The musicianship of this ensemble is amazing, they handled this piece wonderfully, as a bass trombone player, I found myself missing the pedals that were omitted from the low brass statement at the beginning of the piece, but the piece was still wonderfully executed and was pleasure to listen to. :)

God this piece was fun. We couldn't even play far into it once we first got it. Our director couldn't conduct it yet. She needed to look it over more.

Shenandoah is a beautiful piece. I just played Danzas Cubanas with him at the Festival of Winds at USF. I had soo much fun with this piece it was truely amazing.
