Feedback from someone in the fandom for almost 20 years. 1. Yes. Ex-therian here (before identifying as furry, and yes I knew what a furry was from the get go cause almost all therians were also furries), it was for the most part a spiritual thing, not super serious and probably a way to explain the fondness for fluffy critters. Most furries are/turn atheist tho so I had to drop the label. 2. No, fandom is VERY sexual. It's not a majority of the content simply because people have other interests too. About a quarter of my art was lewd, rest was sci-fi stuff, stats on FA are more like 50/50. 3. True. Every furry wants one tho come on :3 4. Mostly true, but furries are naturally more shy and spergy. Don't expect me to maintain eye contact for more than 100 miliseconds. 5. Yes. Disney (Mickey Money Corp. opinions aside) and Dreamworks stuff is popular tho. Also my uh.. naughty awakening... happened due to Extreme Dinosaurs and Digimon. 6. All cults need a leader. Opinions on Dragoneer anyone? Depending on who you ask, he either held the fandom together for two decades and died for our sins (and donuts) or is overweight Satan and his incompetent management pushed people away from FA and FA into stagnation. One if the things that I have to correct people on is that fact that Furries don't actively support "litterboxes" or the usage of them in public bathrooms. I believe that the misconception came from some sort of political agenda and spread like wildfire about them being installed in some public schools, which is complete horse pockey and never actually occurred. I myself am a straight member of the community, and only kind of recently realized that I have been a part of it for ages after looking up what the definition of what makes a person a Furry, in particular the interest in Anthropomorphic animals. Those stickers of Krystal from Starfox that have been on my tool box for years apparently make me a certified greymuzzle.

While I agree Furry isn’t always sexual, it is one of the loudest parts of the fandom and sometime it’s done on purpose to keep corporations from touching it and puritans from touching it. A lot of people would agree to keep the fandom as weird as possible. From that angle I get it. It just sucks “furry is all about sex” is usually a homophobic dog whistle for “queer culture is evil” depending on the context especially in media. Do I think the fandom needs to highlight other aspects more? Yes Will that ever happen? Idk. What people define as a furry is very different depending on who you ask.

Furry UA-camr "PureKoor" Is one of those people who would absolutely disagree with just about everything you said in here. He wholeheartedly believes that anyone who is conservative (Such as myself. A gay conservative at that) Or not 100% liberal should be purged from the fandom and have no right to enjoy anthropomorphism in any way shape or form. He believes that if you don't serve an artistic purpose and the fandom, you have no right to be a furry. He is easily one of the worst gatekeepers I have ever come across. I have been a furry since I was 10 years old (2009). And 2025 marks my 16th year in the fandom. I will never give up this community for the world. By the way, your fursuit is absolutely adorable!!! ^^

Funnily enough, I literally just wrote a comment on your video about furry misconceptions that went over the aegosexual parts of my furry story, which is a lot of it, but nevertheless, I'm going to write the entire part of my furry story here! For most of my life, I have ADORED non-human animals, whether they're wildlife, anthros, or ferals (the furry definition of feral, obviously). My love for all of them has been intertwined since the beginning, though obviously some of the works responsible for fostering this love, like Walking with Dinosaurs (the beautiful 1999 documentary that's easily the best live-action work of ALL TIME, NOT the abomination from 2013 nor the remake that will come out later this year) and Stampy's Lovely World, only focused on one of these categories each. However, some have focused on both. Octonauts has both anthros and ferals interacting with each other, which is SUPER WEIRD, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT when I watched the show as a kid, and one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FRANCHISES OF ALL TIME, Viva Piñata, does this as well, because the TV series focuses on anthros whilst the games focus on wildlife (and by the way, if you think that name sounds weird, the animals are all living piñatas based on real-animals in terms of ecology, morphology, behavior, etc. and they have the most wonderfully punny names imaginable. Sorry for nerding out, but VP was one of the most important franchises in my life from 2012-2022). My adoration for anthropomorphic animals was well-established by the dawn of the current decade, and in 2021, I heard about a group of people called "furries" for the first time in my life. Unfortunately, I discovered them in a very unfortunate way, and that was through anthrozoophobic rhetoric. I was only told about 3 things in the Furry Fandom: yiff, murrsuiting, and zoophilia. Because I was told that furries universally committed these actions, I ABSOLUTELY HATED THEM!!!!!!!! I hated zoophilia because I loved non-human animals and was disgusted at the thought of humans having sex with them (which I now hate EVEN MORE because I understand that consent is necessary for ethical sex), and I HATED yiff and murrsuiting because I thought it desecrated anthropomorphic animals, which I had grown to love SO MUCH up until that point. However, thankfully, I NEVER ONCE said ANYTHING about my hatred for furries, and I don't know why, but now I'M SO GLAD I didn't because I escaped the future guilt of spreading anthrozoophobia. In January 2023, I was reading about Undertale on TvTropes and I saw the hyperlink to a page called "UsefulNotes/FurryFandom". I thought I had an idea what it would be about, but I decided that even if it was disgusting, I would at least learn something when reading about furries. I completely underestimated the importance of that one click. I learned that furries were NOT necessarily sexual and that they were just a bunch of people who loved anthropomorphic animals, EXACTLY LIKE ME!!!!!!! I INSTANTLY knew that not only had I been lied to for over a year, but also that I HAD BEEN A FURRY ALL ALONG, even since some of my earliest childhood memories (fun fact: when I was super young, I would draw and fantasize about anthropomorphic crocodiles ALL THE TIME, but then the Octonauts and Stampy and co. came along and made my preference mammalian. It's so weird to think that I used to be a scalie when I was, like, 7 years old...)! However, for most of 2023, I wasn't that loud about belonging to the Furry Fandom, because I knew it would be annoying to constantly explain to everyone that it wasn't necessarily a sexual thing and that I, in fact, HATED the sexual side of the Fandom (key word: hated). However, I started watching Ash Coyote in the last week of October (which was completely coincidentally also Asexual Awareness Week. Oh, I forgot to mention here that I'm asexual. This will be VERY important later, so please note that I'm ace), and I LOVED her videos! Not only were they ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS (and believe me, her videos are STILL just as funny today!), but she was also a gateway to me learning more and more and MORE about the Furry Fandom, and my love for the community grew exponentially! Now, she's probably my favorite furry! And in December 2023, I discovered my 2nd favorite furry, WHSPRS, who has become my 2nd favorite singer-songwriter PERIOD and he also has an ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS FURSONA! By the end of 2023, I had told the Internet and basically all my teachers and immediate family that I was a furry, and I couldn't have been prouder! Eventually, I started looking up more and more furry art, and I found out that so much of it was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, which culminated in April 2024 when I discovered my absolute favorite anthro artist, Myla Fox, and their/her artwork IS SO BEAUTIFUL that they/she might even be my favorite visual artist PERIOD!!!!!!! However, my story in the Furry Fandom wasn't done yet. Everything I've brought up so far happened when I STILL hated yiff (and murrsuiting, which I kind of still hate), but that all changed in August 2024. Now, something worth noting is that I am asexual, but I'm specifically aegosexual, which means that I can't experience sexual attraction, BUT that I CAN and DO experience sexual arousal, HOWEVER, ONLY AS LONG AS I HAVE NO INVOLVEMENT WHATSOEVER IN WHATEVER IT IS THAT'S TURNING ME ON. I've known that women can turn me on since 2017 or 2018, and I first saw women with exposed AFAB genitalia, which then became the only humans who could turn me on, in 2020 (note: I AM NOT BEING CISNORMATIVE, but the times I've seen women with AMAB genitalia and, even worse, men with AFAB genitalia have honestly been EXTREMELY DISGUSTING and ALWAYS TURN ME OFF IMMEDIATELY). This all started before I knew about the Furry Fandom, but remember, I STILL hated the idea of yiff when I first heard about it. Well, in August 2024, I stumbled upon artwork of some GORGEOUS TwoKinds characters, and they did something I could've never guessed was possible for anthropomorphic animals: THEY ACTUALLY TURNED ME ON!!!!!!!!! This was shocking, BUT I LOVED IT, and after the entire month of September had gone by, I decided to finally look up some full-on yiff, AND I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER WITH THE RESULTS!!!!!!!!! Now I LOVE yiff, which is HILARIOUS when you consider how much I hated it when I was just discovering that furries existed! However, I AM NOT SUGGESTING FOR PEOPLE DISINTERESTED IN SEXUAL THINGS TO SUDDENLY GO OUT AND LOOK FOR THOSE SEXUAL THINGS, BECAUSE THAT'S TOO HIGH RISK AND IT WILL LIKELY FEEL ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!! There are also plenty of other things about the Furry Fandom that I love and didn't bring up here, like our hilarious lingo and our beautiful acceptance of the LGBT+ community, but I think everyone reading this will already know enough to understand that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FURRY FANDOM! 43 year old furry, sorry, but you are wrong about sexualization. Even if what you say is true they largely represent the community, look at youtube, twitter, any social media platform, they are always talking about their sexuality (mostly lgbt). I'm legit tired of seeing it, I'm a furry because I like anthropomorphic animals, not because I want to hear about people's sexuality all the time.

I wouldn't say I SUPPORT zoophilia nor am I a zoo myself, just a regular furry that has no problem with them (I do have a problem with beastialist obviously) because of a few reasons: the biffest of them all is just I have been bullied a lot for various things and I just don't think it's right to bully people for having zoophilia whitch leads me to my second thing, zoophiles don't choose to be a zoophilia, they are born with it and can't get rid of it. Number 3, being a zoophile means that ur attracted to animals, being a beastialist means ur sa'ing animals, most beastialist are NOT zoophilia but zoosadists, because zoos just don't want to hurt animals, and being a zoo also does NOT mean u have an uncontrollable urge to sa animals, next thing, with most zoos you wouldn't even know that they're a zoo until they tell u , because they just don't talk about it that much, for example one of my friends is a zoo and even when he came out to me he wasn't talking about it... its not they're entire personality. And I just think that they shouldn't be left out cuz they have something that they can't control nor hurts anymore... and again, im not a zoo nor a beastialist

I cant take Furrys serious because I think most of the artstyle looks silly and dumb. For me, that transfers over to the Furries themselves. I hope Furrys realize that one day.
