    I understand what you are talking about Reili. Inner ear problems cause motion sickness on a surfboard with confused seas so it is totally exhausting for me on multi day trips. Bad part is you cannot just get off and anybody that doesn't understand that n mocks you for it is a very small person.

      Yeah, this sail was extremly hard and tiring. I usually don’t get seasick but I have other fears and reasons why I don’t like the long crossings. No one should ever mock anyone because of this.

      Sorry to hear you don’t understand what we are saying. Perhaps the subtitles would help? Wouldn’t blame just the microphone here, but also the wind that blows into it. As we are putting most of our focus on sailing and living, we don’t maybe make most effort to get best angle with the camera/microphone. We learn as we go (sail).

    Great to see you back again. The Greek islands are great. So many are totally individual. Do you ever feel the need to stay at some of them to really get to know the place? To understand the culture and island life?

    • @sailingbato
      @sailingbato Місяць тому

      Greece has been one of the best locations with the boat for us. Indeed, so many different islands and villages to explore. We also joked saying that you need a lifetime to visit every single one of them. We try to understand the local culture as much as we can, but we often cannot stay as long. Usually we stay 3-4 days in one anchorage, rarely a week or 2.

    • @FrankJamger
      @FrankJamger 4 місяці тому

      @@sailingbato You're welcome! I see this comments shut-off problem a lot. I will tell you what I think it is. UA-cam has a policy of turning off comments on videos that target an audience of kids (called "Made for Kids" content), so that YT's data processing will not track kids. Problem is, YT uses an AI algorithm to automatically check if each video targets a kids audience, and of course this algorithm is flawed! So, many videos that have children in them but are clearly intended for an adult audience, such as your videos, wrongly get their comments turned off. A channel can overrule the algorithm and turn comments back on, but sometimes you have to do it more than once.

    • @sailingbato

    Can you sail with complaining, scared people on board? NO, you cannot and you must not. Complaints and fear are the most dangerous things at sea. They inevitably lead to anger and panic at the worst of times, leading to accidents and injuries. Keep the boat and find a good crew or sell the boat and become someone else's crew.

    We do these roadbike rides, bicycles. And women are along, some of them are SO scared, all the time. Like, they are scared of everything. If they had to do something that involved knowing how to ride, how to stop, how to corner? It would be ugly. Some endanger everyone around them on every ride. Granted there are guys almost as bad, but women in general, it sounds horrible but their timidness is dangerous. Gotta commit to learning how to ride to be safe.

    • @sailingbato
      @sailingbato 10 місяців тому

      Hi! Thank you for the comment and question! We taught her since young to do her business on command and that’s probably the most important part so you can plan longer passages and encourage the dog to do it on deck on command. Takes time and practice but eventually you get there. First sail she got sea sick but after that all good. These dogs are kiss machines so in rougher weather be ready to cuddle to the max! Also keep in mind that this breed is forbidden is some areas so you’ll need to plan your voyage accordingly 😞

    Say you have no friends there? Used to be if you had fresh fish friends were not hard to find. Now a days have offered fresh caught, cleaned to others and they picked through it before declining. Blue water fish as well, not effected with ciguatera. Stopped offering and just froze it instead.

      We always share it with other sailors at anchor whenever possible because we don’t have a freezer and don’t like to waste. We made lots of friends that way! Zaffy often gets a piece too!

      Depends, sometimes she eats it and sometimes not.

    I’ve seen some sailboats attach a device called a flopper stopper to the boom and swing the boom out to one side so it’s perpendicular to the boat and it helps reduce the rolling. Zaffy looked so happy running on that beach 🏝️

      Indeed Barry that’s an option which we never tried. To be fair if we get caught at night in a rolly anchorage then we usually decide to lift the anchor and move somewhere else as we gained confidence in night sailing.
