KINGFISHER vs FISH: WHO WINS?
Greetings to everyone! Still obstacled by covid so today I tried to come up with funny stuff. I missed the manual focus on this video, but this gave me a good start to spice the action with some humour. Hope you will enjoy it and I can make you laugh!!!

Greetings to everyone! Unfortunately, I got covid quite badly, so I am not able to create the videos I planned, instead of them, I'll show you some rare and funny short moments from my wildlife experiences. The lighting, the camera shakes, the heat haze are bad, but at least I could capture these moments. #dating #canon #wildlife #bird #nature #canon90d #sigma150600 #courtship #fail #epicfail #...

Greetings to everyone, in today's video I would like to focus on birds, specifically on one spieces: the common linnet. It's really hard to mix entertaining and educating, and I am sure there is a huge room for improvement for me (again I struggled with audio), but at least I tried to create an unique content. Canon R7+Sigma 150-600C: Can you live with the pulsing? (with sample raw images)
Переглядів 14 тис.2 роки тому
Greetings to everyone! In my current video, I would like to talk about a really controversial topic: how the sigma 150-600C performs on the R7. The opinions are really diversed, I represent those who are delighted with this combo. I'am neither a reviewer guy, nor a professional photographer ( My short film was shown twice at an international nature film festival, and that's it), I just want to ...
Canon R7 + Sigma 150-600 C: Heaven on budget? (Field test)
Переглядів 38 тис.2 роки тому
Greetings to everyone. In my very first video in English, I try to dig deep about how the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary perform on the R7, because surely I am not the only one, who cannot afford really expensive lens and flagship cameras, so to me every budget option counts, that's why I wanted to help providing you some info based on my experiences so far. This is not a full review, only a fiel...

3:57 thats a lesser gray shrike, juvenile bird, not a red backed, you can see its gray and with no lines on the chest
by '@960' mm you mean you used televonverter?
I also have a 90D and bought myself the R7 4days ago. Have not tested my Sigma 150-600 yet. But even if some shots are soft .. People should try the 90D and then the R7. This video has a lot of food for thought. Glad you made it.
How is the result with the R7?
@@marcogretsch7028 well for me it works much better. The pictures are sharp similar to what I got on my 90D. Just way more keepers. I pair that with my 800mm and I am more than satisfied. But I am speaking as someone who came from a 90D. I really have no complaints. The R7 is a definite upgrade
Ok! Thank you so much! I have the 80D myself en considering the R7. The 80D has less mp compared to the 90d and R7, do maybe that would be a good upgrade as a sigma 150600S owner! 👍🏻📷@@willemdebeer2507
@@marcogretsch7028 Oh definitely!! If you have been using our 80D a while and you are familiar with it switching to the R7 will be easy. There really is not such a difference. Battery life will be your biggest nuisance. But I just switched everything to the lowest brightness and seconds and its ok now. But the IS and Tracking will blow your mind. It's outstanding. But again you still have to put in the work. The camera just makes it easier. I also bought an old EF 24-105 f4 with an adapter as well as a MEICA speed booster... which turns it into a 17-75 f2.8
Thank you for your tips! Seriously considering the R7 now! 👍🏻👍🏻😃@@willemdebeer2507
Great results. I wonder how would this lens do in event photography
Bro Sigma 150-600 vs canon rf 100-400 witch is better 🤔🤔🤔🤔your opinion🤔???
nice video and very educational. I am looking for this combo, I hope get this soon! thanks so much for the information!
U dont have to shoot stationary birds at 1/1000 man haha, you can shoot at 1/320 and get that iso down..also f7.1 would be sharp enough
Szia Andrew. Egy év után, hogy értékel a r7 SIGMA 150-600 párosítást. Van egy sigma 150-600 lencsém D750el használom. Szeretném frissíteni a gépet D90 vagy R7. Melyik gépet ajánlod madár fotózásra ?
Excelent
Great video! Got the R7 a month ago coming from an 80D my keeper rate has increased dramatically. Absolutely love the animal tracking feature and 30fps, although I’m using the exact same SD card as you I found that feathering the shutter gives lots of frames without hitting the buffer. Set my camera to capture cRaw that takes up less space helps.
I struggle with EVF on flying Birds, I have used Olympus twice and Sony once and gone back to DSLR.
Andrew 80% of my shooting would be at 600mm , Your English is Perfect for my Slight hearing defect, well done.
Tamron 150-600mm G2 is a great combo with fast focus.
I would really love to watch a video on where and when should I go to capture such beutiful pictures. I would really appreciate that!
Meggyőztél hogy egy 150-600C legyen a következő! Nagyon köszi! 😊
спасибо
great job, thanks !
Can R7 work well with Tamron 150-600 G2???
The pulsing is a Sigma issue. The pixel density story is BS. I shoot an old 400mm 5.6 L which has no is etc. It is perfect. My keeper rate is well over 95% for still subjects and over 75% for birds in flight. The photos are tact sharp. Better than I got on my old 18mpx 7 D. So I think these reviews going on about the R7 are simply reviewers who know how to play the algorithm. They know nothing about photography. Their technique must be lacking. And perhaps the higher end equipment masks their incompetence or something. Or they just repeat each other. Thanks for the great video
Hilarious
:-D love the hempy haha
Thanks for the video! Keep it up, great stuff!
I use a Fujifilm X-T30 WITH THE 18x55 F2.8 lens and got some great Hummingbird photos. I even got a few photos with the toungue sticking out and some with their beak open. What a fun and challenging hobby.
wow, what great shots. can i ask you what settings you have for servo-af and af-range. do you have motive tracking active? or in other words AF menu tab 1 and 2 would interest me extremely, as i have almost every picture out of focus with the same constelation :(
Does this problem occur with Sports version of 150-600?
Got the 90d not impressed with it. Lots out of focus especially birds in flight. Despite looking in focus on viewfinder. Thinking of upgrade to R7. When you say low light, would it perform in a forest on cloudy day?
The 90d is a great camera had it loved it with sigma 150-500
Thanks for your great review.
Great video. People have high expectations from a budget lens. There is not perfect option here. I have R7 and Sigma 150 600 in addition to RF 800, RF600 and RF 100-400. My favorite is RF 800 mm. It's super sharp, eye AF is spot on, very light weight and produces great results if you can find the bird in a non zoomable narrow field of view. Min focus distance is never an issue as most birds are at least 20 feet away. Then my next favorite Sigma 150-600C. It works but the combo is very HEAVY and I can't walk with it for more than 30 mins. Sigma 150 600 also works great with R7 when used with Sigma 1.4X Teleconverter. The F8 naturally gives sharper shots but again the combo is very difficult to handhold. RF 100 400 is a great lens but not for birding. 400mm is too short. I would use it butterflies or macro. 600 is compromise but I like RF 800 mm a lot better than the RF 600mm.
hiii nice video. Any idea about Tamron G2 150-600mm compatibility with R7? Does the IBIS work and how does the autofocus performs? I am looking to rent out a lens for wildlife majorly focusing on mammals. I am torn between 100-500 Canon and 150-600 G2 Tamron. I feel the 100-500mm seems very costly as compared to 150-600 though. Kindly suggest. Thanks
Brother well done i have a question i am in process to upgrade i have sigma 600mm Still thinking between 90D or R7 please suggest
My keeper rate is definitely better with the R7, if you have the extra budget for the R7, I would go for it. The R7 has better stills and video features than the 90D in almost everything.
@@birdingwithandrew594 got the R7 last week till then it's raining In Amsterdam 👍
Hi Andrew, I just bought R7 and I already have 150-600 C. I want to ask you, are all of the pictures you showed shot with that combo? I mean those from minute 11:00?
Hi Ivan! Most of them was shot with the 90D + sigma combo, that session was meant to represent that the sigma can be really sharp at F8 cause I just got the R7 back than when I made the video so I didnt have a lot of images to add for that session. But I created another video when I had more photos with a lot of raw examples as well.
Hello Andrew sprichst du deutsch???
Hallo Norbert, Ich verstehe viel, aber Ich kann nicht so gut sprechen, eher auf Englisch .
Thank you buddy. I am going to buy R7, with sigma combo. Thanks for clarifying all my doubts.
I hope this combo will work for you, cheering for you! 👌🏼
@@birdingwithandrew594what adapter do u need
I changed my settings on my Sigma 600 mm C and the Canon R10 settings, it s working much better, mostly no problems with pulsing, but sometimes the af gets stuck, I turn the camera off and turn it on, and it works fine, the problem is continuous shooting, after taking 8 or 9 pictures in continuous shooting the af stops so I turn it off. Now the motion blur could be a cheap lens filter. it s not the perfect combo and you have to manage it
I bought R10 to replace my old 7D, I only have Sigma lenses and AF pulsing is killing me. To the point where I consider getting rid of everything and buying Sony or even Nikon. This is not only Sigma 150-600 problem, this happens with my 70-200/2,8 and even 105/2,8 macro. This is pure bullshit and if anyone ask me if they should get new Canon RF camera when they wish to use EF lenses I'll say definitely 'no' and since Canon is now against 3rd party lenses for this system it is definitely not photoamateur friendly.
Hi Andrew! Just saw your video as I'm having some issues with lot of misfocused pictures at 600mm. I blame the gear not myself of course but... will try to check what is my aperture next time ;) Anyway even if with low budget your video was great. Small suggestion: if you could publish the pictures you got using exactly this combo, this would be great (RAWs!). Did you took them all with tripod or you did them handheld? Greetings from Poland and good luck with your channel!
Hi Pawel! F 6.3 is not so forgiving, but at F 8.0 I get a lot of sharp shots always during 3-4 sec bursts (15fps mode). I took most of my shots with tripod, but nowadays I use handheld technique more, and I still get a lot of sharp shots. I am on VERO, if you would like to check, I can upload some unedited raw files there! you can find me: BirdingWithAndrew. Greetings from Hungary, and thank you!
I really like the Sigma 150-600C.... BUT: - i began with the RF 800... its so much lighter and better stabilized, its just the cancerous 1280mm on APS-C which are limiting more often than not - Canon 100-400 II, i got it 3 days ago, its better stabilized, sharper than the sigma and lighter. Beside the fact that the MF ring is even usable, where its very hard to be precise on the 150-600. If i dont really need the 200mm extra reach i love to use the Canon 100-400 II instead of the Sigma. I really tried to replace the Sigma with the 100-400, but that doesnt work also... i just want to keep both lenses since i would have a big hole between 640 and 1280mm...
All of them are cute birds. 🐦 and my idol Benci Mate📸❤️😊
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. Big like28
Thank you! 😊😊🤗 Greetings from Hungary! 😊
Go full budget with an M50. What I was using before the R7. It was half the price of my Lumix G9 and Leica 100-400 which wasn't the best at nailing focus.
The 4000D and sigma 150-600C is the ultimate budget combo I have ever had 😁😁😁
The buffer fills also very fast with UHS II card, im using a Sony with 170MB/s write speed. What i found out.... in burst mode, especially with pre burst used, the write speed to the card takes somehow a hit (or its just the performance needed for creating the raw container file.
that's interesting, thank you for the info! I planned to buy an UHS II card, but having seen other's experiences, I sticked to my card, still can keep the 15 fps till around 4-5-6 seconds, really depends on the iso.
@@birdingwithandrew594 i had the Eos RP before - the R7 is definately slower than the RP at sd card writing (in burst at least)
Hi Andrew, Thanks to your videos (and others people like Duade or wild Alaska), I got a sigma 150 600 c and a Canon r10 (which is a very good deal too). This f6.3 600mm is a needed for me, in France, in the mountains / forests. I wanted to ask you a question regarding the focus ring on the sigma: were you able to assign it to a function, like AV ? For me, it is not working (except MF), I am wondering if I missed something in the parameters. If yes, I will continue to search, if no, I will stop searching !! Many thanks !
Hi Remi, The sigma doesnt have a dedicated ring to change the appeture, and as far as I know and experienced, in the button layout settings there is no option to set the MF ring to become a dedicate changing button of the AV. But to be honest, I have assigned the ISO and shutter speed to the 2 dials for quick change, and I prefer it in this way, because I change these values way more frequently than changing the apeture. Greetings from Hungary!
thank you, very nice.
Hi Andrew, are you still not hungry?
Haha, was a month ago, I am starving now :D
is r10 has the same af that r7 ??
I haven't tried the R10 so I can't give you a proper answer, but you can watch great contents on wild alaska and duade paton channel, and I am sure your question will be answered!
Nice action. 👍Funny 😁
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁😁😊
🤭
I am glad you liked it Nicole 😁
Are you using EF-RF mount adapter with this ?
Yes, without it, the combo won't work
PS; interviews with Biologist will be so great!!! :)
I am reallyplanning it, the problem is that she doesn't like the publicity and don't want that, but I am trying to persuade her 😅 but of course I dont want to force it so maybe I have to search another friend :)
Thank you very much for this video ! Same as you do , and as I live in Uruguay, everything is more expensive due to import fees. I had a canon 5dsr with a Tamron 150-600 for ages, and was satisfied with the results, even though keepers were fewer than I would like to . (Had the 7D II as well) Due to weight , and my aging I went to Fuji camera, and had to set up with 100-400 lenses, I am very happy but need the extra reach of our beloved 600 mm. I found out that fuji xt4 had less noise when cropping that the old 5dsr. Yet, I was looking for any other gear that would get my 600 reach again! As someone mentioned here, it's too soon for Canon to open the game to Sigma or Tamron, as they are selling all their stuff pretty well. Your images looked really well, except for Raw 9, where I could appreciat the noise, and that is something I appreciate from you to show to us! I loved your video, and I subscribed. We need more people who are down to earth and can share with the community their findings. It would be interesting to see your BIF settings on a video! Thank you so much best regards from distant Uruguay!
Uruguay is a very nice country, hope I will get the chance to travel here once... :) To be honest, Fuji is not so well advertised here, only Nikon, Sony and Canon, so I have very few knowledge about their products, but I can feel with missing the reach, as I prefer walk around style, for that, the 600mm is really essential, the extra 200mm can make a huge difference. But yes, everything is about compromises, which things you insist to, which things you can sacrifice, I hope you will find the best solution for you!!! :) Yes, unfortunately even contriversial canon lenses are sold in enormous ammount, so we, canon shooters are very vulnerable these years, but maybe one day the RF mount will be opened for third party lenses... I'am not chasing the numbers so I gladly share my BIF settings here: the really minimum shutter speed is 1/2000, but recently I set it to 1/2500, or even higher if the lighting conditions allow me. Aperture is F 7.1-8, iso is auto, I set till 6400. I use craw, auto white balance, the 15fps electronical shutter mode.(with mechanical I still get 15 fps). Focus: animal eye-af servo, with spot af, I set the servo AF to case2, which means the camera continues to track subjects, ignoring possible obstacles, and of course initial priority, to keep the focus on the subject, hope I could help. Thank you for your kind words Daniela, I try to do my best! Greetings from the distant Hungary!
@@birdingwithandrew594 Thanks a lot Andrew for your quick reply ! I was wondering why do you use Craw instead of Raw ? With Fuji glass the game is different :) I set my ISO to 800 , the speed to 1250, or more if needed, but the aperture I manage to move the ring from the lens, something I grew to love since changing the system. My photos are never over exposed, thanks to that possibility, of course I can set it it o 7.1 if needed, but I love the game that the aperture ring gives me . The new Fuji H2s, went to PSAM dial , and didn't keep the original Fuji experience. Some people had issues with white balance with Fuji, but I generally leave it to cloudy, due to our usual hours of birding. Now they got a new lens 150-600, but the comments are not great. It still hunts quite a bit. For me till now the ideal camera, if I could handle the weight would be the sony A1 and the 200-600 lens , but .... as I said b4, weight is way too much for hand helding ! Compromises, and more compromises, right? I send you my best vibes from a rainy Uruguay.!
@@DalsPhotography-Daniela I use craw because it gives me little bit bigger buffer with more images during a burst, and the IQ difference between raw and craw is not that much. Controlling the aperture on a ring is very handy, it's a pity that I can't do it with my sigma, and also the R7 only has 2 control ring (one is set for shutter speed, one is set for iso, cause I change aperture quite rarely. Thanks for fuji infos! Unfortunately It's hard to imagine that in the close future there would be an acceptable low weight 600mm lens, canon has one, but it is F11 with bad minimum focus distance and other disadvatage. Generally the manufacturers market the 100-400 lenses to be lighter, as you mentioned, but not any 600mm. The sony 200-600mm is a wonderful lens, I wish canon created a same one, howewer I am not a bodybuilder so the weigjt is also matters for me :D Thank you!
