@MiniMindfulMuse OMG yes my gastro Dr through the years of having to have endoscopies punctured my intestines more than once and I'd end up in emergency surgery so yes they aren't the most reliable. My DR explained that they will likely go into the artery and put in a stint to open the blood flow back open to my intestines which will allow me to digest food again and eat and hopefully stop the pain. I hope you get in to see a vascular surgeon soon! Funny how they never told us any of these things when we had gastric huh? Well I'd like to keep you updated and you keep me updated as well. Have a wonderful Christmas, eat something tasty for me Much love
Omg I am so glad I saw this! I had a gastric bypass go horribly wrong and suffered since 2012 and had it reversed in Sept of this year 2024 and dropped 30lbs in 3 months. I cannot eat anything, liquids only, I feel like I'm being stabbed by a hot poker, and I am always sick too my stomach. They believe I have SMA and I see the vascular surgeon after Christmas. This gives me some hope that they can fix it however terrifies my of having a tube in my nose..... But gotta suck it up. Glad you are recovering so well and giving the rest of us that are lost hope that this can at least be elevated. God bless you
First let me say, I'm so sorry you're going through this! Second, I have noticed that research and treatment of abdominal compression disorders has improved so much in just the last decade! The fact that they suspect you have SMA and are sending you to a vascular specialist is huge, and I think that means you're going to be ok! I never even saw one, and I actually had a doctor recently tell me that my gastroenterologist most likely did the wrong surgery for my SMA at the time. And while those symptoms have improved, I'm currently working on getting in to see a vascular specialist to see if I could have MALS, which is often comorbid with SMA. God bless you as well.
I can’t believe people hate them. I found this video bc I wanted to hear the sound to meditate
good one!
Thanks!
Play 6 or 8 instead of 7 and your golden!
Thanks!
I smell an underrated short 😳😍
Thanks for this video. I have a host interview today. Thanks again girl ❤
your smile is so pretty :)
I Have sma syndrome. I'm 24yrs old Woman. From Bangladesh... Im no good treatment 😢😢 I'm suffering gastric ulcer and sma syndrome... What i do mam
I am so sorry. SMA syndrome was the worst pain I have ever gone through. I don't know anything about the medical system in Bangladesh, but I really hope you're able to get the help you need. You are definitely in my prayers.
I have superior masentaric artary syndrome im from Bangladesh. I have no money 😔😔 how mouch cost??? For operation sergury?
I know, I've been to Portland when I was very little. I still live in Maine.
Wow--got some food for thought here. I'm just starting training as a host at the end of the week and this video has given me some ideas on things to check on or ask during my training. The last bit really would irk me, too, and I'd probably have to fight to keep the WTF off my face if somebody insisted on sitting at a dirty table that hasn't been cleaned. I wonder if deep down they wanna treat someone like a servant and watch them work extra for their own benefit or something while scrutinizing how they do it. That's just bizarre to me, and I'd be embarrassed if I was a friend or family member of someone who insisted on a table still needing cleaning and prep. Wow.
My main job hosting was bussing also
Wow that is pretty nice
Do u have Ehlers danlos syndrome?
Here is how it is going for me in two weeks I had seen primary care doctor twice and 1 urgent care visit and been discharged twice from the hospital saying I had viral tonsillitis which was likely since I was in weak shape but I knew something was more wrong. I was admitted the third time after losing 7 pounds in a week even though I had only been eating 300 calories less. I have lost 21 pounds in a year from my all time heaviest weight of 130 and I’m not that short at 5ft 10in. I was admitted in the hospital the nurse was really heavy she ran me into a room and I had first an ultrasound nothing appeared then a ct scan without contrast and ct scan with contrast which showed SMA syndrome and a Nurse practitioner knew what it was but never expected to see it and she showed her colleagues and they were in shock and they brought 5 specialists of the same speciality and they were all in 100 percent agreement that this is SMA. I also, had mri scan with and without contrast and it showed up on those tests too. The worst part for me is that I can’t vomit easily so I constantly have nausea and it just sits and the cramping is agonizing and I can tolerate a lot of pain and I have tried the strongest anti nausea medicine and even that makes me nauseous. The problem too is my kidneys really work extremely well so I have to urinate a lot which would leads to dehydration normally but this makes this condition much harder because I’m drinking 5 liters of liquid a day and close to dying of dehydration according to lab tests and I was only given two bags of saline over a 3 day hospital stay. I been fortunate I can still tolerate eating normal food but with limitations and I cannot eat lunch so I’m forced to eat two large meals to keep up with my calorie goals which is 3,000 so I eat a 1,500 calorie breakfast and a 1,500 calorie dinner and in the meantime I have not only deal with the usual symptoms but hypoglycemia as well.
I have SMA sydrome found on ct scan with contrast after losing going from 130 pounds to 109 pounds in a year of constant nausea last week I have gone down from 116 pounds to 109 pounds and constant nausea and agonizing pain in lower abdomen. My condition is so bad I got another diagnosis on top of everything which is chronic fatigue syndrome and it’s not my fault because I have been averaging 2700-3000 calories a day for the last 4 years and haven’t had a problem until a year ago. I have been forced not to eat lunch since nausea peaks at this time so I’m stuck eating a 1,500 calorie breakfast and a 1,500 calorie dinner and nearly dying of dehydration even though I’m consuming 5 liters of liquid a day.
I know these are Shorts, But would you happen to have full videos like this?.
Not at the moment, but maybe that's something I'll do in the future!
Cool 😊
Rest well Cookie 😢, Losing a pet is never easy especially when they become like a best friend to some of us.
I was wondering do you plan to upload again soon?
Thank yooou i was searching everywhere to find some guidance
Oh, and what i have found to help my GI tract the most are: collagen peptides in my smoothie, bone broth and digestive enzymes.( Anything to ease my digestion eases my symptoms/pain. I hope this helps someone.
Ps - I've had all the complications, too. Obstruction, paralyzed Ileus, etc. I've been referred into palliative care. Holding out for another miracle. I could use some prayer's. Thanks. I read all the comments and see you've had some resolution of most of your problems. I'm happy for you. I just keep getting worse, and it's not looking good for me. I hope that you realize how blessed you are, in this regard. I pray every day for healing. I'm still praying for you and all who suffer from this terrible condition. Thanks for your post. I've never met anyone else with this. Most doctors have only heard about it in textbooks. Never even seen a case like mine before. The struggle is real. ( LoL, ppl really have NO idea how real!)
I just got to the end of your video, and, a GI surgeon? I had a vascular surgeon. The GI surgeons were not qualified to do the surgery on me. I am genuinely confused about why you haven't seen a vascular surgeon..? ( I actually had 3 teams of surgeons 1- thoracic vascular 2- heart surgeon ( nothing wrong with my heart, but, so risky that an embolism would have headed straight to my heart and they would have had to crack open my chest) and 3-a bleed out team. I did end up getting a huge blood clot in my stent, which failed and had to have an emergency surgery. Have you consulted with a vascular surgeon? There might be more that they can do for you. I couldn't tell by your video, but, did they resolve your blood flow? Can you eat food normally, now? I'm thinking a vascular surgeon could help you. ( I'm not in any way in the medical field, nor am I i trying to give you advice, I'm just wondering if anyone has referred you to see a vascular specialist?) I still can't eat food because of no Celiac artery, scar tissue and nerve damage and partially collapsed SMA.. Still in lots of pain and terrified of food. Being terrified of food is your body's normal reaction to almost dying from food. This exact same fear is what enabled us to survive, as food CAN literally kill us. I don't believe that is an eating disorder. I'm so sorry that this happened to you, you seem like a sweetheart and did not deserve to be treated the way that you were! And you are so right- we must be our own health advocate. Had I not been my own, I would definitely be dead right now. ( Whole other, long story, LoL) it's so difficult to get a proper diagnosis on this condition. Prayers for you, sweetheart!
I came close to dying from this. My Celiac artery was involved, too. ( Dissected in half) I've had 3 surgeries so far, need a 4th one, soon. By the time they diagnosed me, i was told that i was inoperable and that it was "too late". I ended up at Baylor heart hospital in Dallas, to become a case study. The condition is rare, but my condition was SO rare, that there are very few survivors. Idk about you, but it was the most painful thing ever gone through! ( And I've had two babies, both difficult deliveries, ruptured appendix and a gangrene gall bladder) i lost so much weight that i was in a girl's size 12, severe muscle wasting. It took me over 3 yrs to gain 20 lbs, have not completely healed and now it's all back. More surgery. The worst thing about this is the pain and malnutrition. I've been avoiding the feeding tube,, but my malnutrition is going back into severe. The weakness and fatigue is huge. Ppl just dont understand the amount of suffering that we go through. Not able to eat the foods I love is also suffering! ( On liquid diet and soft, easy to digest foods, now. I live on smoothies. For years now!) Anyways,, I'm praying for you and hope for a recovery for you. The surgeries have fixed the vascular problems, but i have extensive nerve damage and scar tissue that causes bad pain. I no longer have a viable Celiac artery, it's plugged closed. I'm living on only my SMA, i have 4 stents, 3 coils, 5 Aneurysms, and a large plug that's closed my Celiac artery. It seems to me that they can do some sort of surgery to open your SMA,,? I, too lost my fat pad, but the stent and coils are holding it all up/open ( the whole thing collapsed, 3 aneurysms all ruptured at same time that the Celiac artery got dissected. Yes, i bled out for 3 days and coded on the 3rd day. They told me that it was a miracle that I survived. God had my back. Im praying for you, and all SMA patients. May God bless you, and never give up. Someone in your world loves you and needs you, so, hang in there, okay?
Thank you so much for this video, really helped me with my art essay about Van Gogh!!
Glad it was helpful!
Guys, if you don’t know what she means by saying there are coquis in Florida, yes there is a coqui specie in Florida. It’s just they don’t make the Coqui sound
I'm a 29-year-old Korean who was diagnosed with this disease a week ago! Your video has been incredibly helpful. It seems like the mental struggle is really significant. I've decided to go with conservative treatment to avoid surgery as much as possible. All I can do is eat while lying down to help the food go down, focus on a liquid diet, and eat in small amounts. Because of this disease, my weight has dropped from 54kg to 42kg, even though I'm 163cm tall. On the outside, it just looks like I've lost weight, so people say I look good, haha. Ugh, it's tough! Anyway, seeing you almost fully recovered gives me hope. Thank you.
I’m starting my first hostess job and rotation is something I had no idea was a thing. I think that’s what stresses me out. The most is rotation.
Same--i start training on Friday and I'm a bit nervous, so I'm researching and thinking of questions to ask. Only worked fast food as a restaurant job before this. Learning the seating, servers, and rotation is gonna be interesting, but I hope if I get the rhythm of it, it'll be doable (will want/need tips eventually). I guess the concern is going to be huge groups all showing up at the same time or now the servers messing with the rotation. I can see why at some places the asst. manager is the one who runs hosting until they get a designated host, because what server is gonna mess with the boss' rotation layout?
You need to do 23andme health ancestry. I found numerous genetic illness aside from compressions, you mention gerd, it could be toothpaste lactose milk sugars fruits vitamins minerals hereditary fructose syndrome & what looks like Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Syndrome. I also have MTFHR Folic items stopped. The toothpaste has sugar types
Thanks I recently got hired as a Host at chilis. Start later this month 🙌
I was diagnosed with SMA and had surgery. duodenojejunostomy for 4 months, the first month was much better I can eat normally. By month 4, I started losing my appetite and feeling nauseous. I'm very worried What should I do?😢
Im talking with a general surgeon soon after finding out I have SMA syndrome. Its been a very challenging process!
From what I remember, finding a surgeon was the most frustrating part of the process for me. I wish you all the best!
Can we eat coqui frogs?
I had Mesenteric Artery Steroids. My GI doctors ran constant tests on me in my home town and couldn’t find my problem. I lost 85 pounds. The day of my bypass surgery I weighed in at 100 pounds and I’m 5’9. I was a skeleton. My body could not absorb fat. Eating was extremely painful and pretty much every time I ate I would vomit in my kitchen trash can. I lived this hell for 2 1/2 years. I finally decided that if I didn’t go to another city I would die. I met my new GI doctor in Roanoke VA. The first test he ran diagnosed me. A simple Abdominal CT scan with contrast was my saving grace. I met my vascular surgeon shortly after my scan. Two weeks later I had full blown abdominal bypass. My surgery was back in March 2021. I spent 4 days in ICU and 4 more days on the vascular wing. Everyone was amazing and the surgery was flawless. I was still afraid to eat. One day my vascular surgeon brought me a cheeseburger and fries. I was scared but he assured me the suffering was over. I will never forget that meal. It was the best thing I had eaten in years. I will now forever have vascular disease so my doc does a vascular abdominal ultrasound on me every 6 months. About a year ago my left kidney went dark and a stint couldn’t bring it back. As of right now my body doesn’t know it’s not working. If my blood pressure ever shoots up to 200 I will either have to have abdominal bypass again or the doc will just remove my kidney. This is a life long disease that has to be watched. I’m alive and I thank God every day. I’m so happy to hear you are doing better and becoming stronger.
Thank you. I think GI issues will always be a struggle for me, but I'm definitely doing my best! I'm so sorry to hear about your story. I hope things get better for you.
And the worst part about the restaurant industry is the favoritism that managers have on certain people. You could be an amazing worker and someone gets the better postion based on the managers personal liking and not work ethic. where I work the servers don’t pre bus and they get mad at us for their table not being flipped fast enough
Pest? Maybe for some that are not used to them, but after awhile, they are just a lullaby song for anyone to sleep.
I had my feeding tube in for 6 months😢. I hated it sooo much. I have had Sibo as well.
I hope you're doing ok! 🙏
I'm sick to my stomach all the time.
I was just diagnosed with sma a Year ago. 😢
Did you run? Does the operation improve tachycardia? I suffer from the same issue
I don't think so. I still have inappropriate sinus tachycardia
apparently people with SMA Syndrome end up with reverse peristalsis and surgery does not seem to help with this. Would be interesting to find out why the reverse peristalsis persists after the blockage has been removed.
i’m not sure why this is the case but i do know is that when you have SMA Syndrome and bypass the obstruction, your first and second parts of your duodenum are dilated which causes the muscles in your duodenum to be weaker causing a delayed in digestion and emptying in the duodenum
make sure its not the nerves! The blood not flowing can cause inflammation in that area
Excellent video. But coqui rarely eats lizards or other frogs. Normally are insectivorous. there are 17 coqui species endemic from PR. Only one species has emigrate accidentally on some bromelian plant to other places but the other 16 species are just found in PR. Maybe that's the problems. The variations of the sound of 5 or 6 species on the night make it more melodious. And only one to close could be a bit difficult to handle if you wheren't born on Puerto Rico. In Chile are another similar frog named "Guavaritos". And sound similar and Chilean love them.
Hope you got a new job girl💕
Haha yup, this was years ago, thanks!
can I lick it and get high off of it?
My theripist keeps sending appointment notifications to my moms phone for appointments reminders when he knows I have a phone Im 26 I put her down as my emergency contact and he keeps sending them to her phone is that a red flag?
I would talk to him about this. I'm not sure if it's necessarily a red flag, but if it keeps happening, and it really bothers you or makes you feel like you can't trust him, I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to find a different therapist.
I have an application to be a host tomorrow, first job. I’m nervous.
I hope you got the job!
@@MiniMindfulMusewhat should i wear to a hostess interview ?
