Hinch 1991 Saudi Arabia
As part of the extensive coverage of the Gulf War by Channel 7 and the Hinch program, John Wiseman did an interview with Australian employees of British Aerospace working in Saudi Arabia just prior to the ground war phase. Not quite 15 minutes of fame.

This is a great series of vids, mate. Thanks for sharing. :)
"oh...make it look interesting Micko" "What do you want me to do, pull my pants down" "Pull your d**k out..." Too funny :)

The only one I remember by Name is Jim Eglan because I went for a dual ride with him and bumped into him a 4 years later in the Middle East.

The Mirage was a lady with attitude and of course always wanted attention. ...lol.
YMCA ?
Fighter pilots like Chuck Yeager have often described the characteristics of the planes they've flown as feminine. But just as a picture's worth a thousand words, some fighters are just high maintenance. Salute to the ground crews that had to put up with them !
I still have scars - it might have been female but it was a true bitch.
Amazing. They've done that before!
With shorts and no shirts, who'd never pick these Gunnies as some of the most professional ground crew in the world.
Kevin Quinn gotta love the knotted hanky on the head 🤣
Obviously you’re not Australian, it’s functional. Gets the job done in the heat and humidity. We have never worried about unnecessary formality.
Craig Beatty ah yes I am, if you’re not a butt hurt young person you would appreciate I was laughing at ourselves. Something we used to be able to do. FYI child of the 60’s and been serving in uniform one way or another since 83. 🖕
Actually the knotted hanky wasn't allowed to be worn by all and sundry - it was a right of passage. Bung made me my first knotted hanky... I wore it with pride
Some of them are still flying in Pakistan
This whole series of videos was great. Interesting to see the Mirage being prepared and the banners. It was also great to see the ground crew enjoying their work despite the heat and humidity. I miss the Mirage. An amazing and noisy beast. Thanks for the videos.
many thx, great plane
Il est somptueux...
This is really interesting stuff for a plane loving nerd like me! Thanks so much for sharing it Luke.
Glad you liked it.
