Do you have a part number for the timing tools?
Hi, I don’t have a specific part number but if you go into my Amazon link in the description of the video and just type in the vehicle you have and search for the cam locking tool it will come up with some and then you can just pick the engine code that fits yours
Thanks for the reply but as I've looked further into this job , are there 2 types of timing tools where the other type doesn't require the cam carrier to be removed and just remove the vac pump to lock exhaust cam?
@Liveforeever hi yes that tool is available now but will only work if you have the cam sprockets without the outer lip or you won’t be able to get the belt off properly. 👍
what about these block sealing fluids like wynns ? i heard it could fix it for 15k kilometers .
Yh there are some good ones that will good for a temporary fix, steel seal claim it can be a permanent solution, so worth a try before having to fork out a load on a repair 👍
My son's Mégane wipers stopped. He sent me this video. We tried it this afternoon and it pretty much played out exactly as this video. I actually didn't have high expectations. Thanks my man. Well done.
Hey 👋 this message is the exact reason why I post my videos! Thanks for watching 😊
@MrAutoFixer I've had positive feedback for things and it's a great encouragement. Thanks again pal, you know your work is worth something. Much appreciated
Tried replacing on my daughter's 500 and man , where the door panel (skin) slides into the wedge on the handle was a real B
Hey 👋 yes I know what you mean I’ve had some that are just so tight they don’t fit !
Going to be rebuilding one of these next week so can't look cams are there any markings on cam or do i make my own? Tia
Yh the cams will have to go in a certain way, you can buy the cam locking tool cheap on ebay and you will need it if your rebuilding one 👍
@MrAutoFixer already ordered one thanks 👍🏻
Nice 👌 let me know how it goes 👍
Hiya. Great video. Im trying to diagnose a engine juddering issue been 1200 and 1700 revs. Ive replaced the MAP and MAF sensors now thinging its a EGR issue. Have u ever experienced this issue please.
Hey 👋 do you have any codes logged ? Have you had somone look at in on live data ? If not then I would get that done rather than just guessing and throwing parts at it 👍
I am mechanic my self i installed a new vacuumpump custumer drove 500km new pump turned to shite. Like the original and yours. So whats can that be?
It’s normally caused by the wet belt breaking down, you need to check the vac pump and if full of belt fragments then change all at the same time. 👍
Would you reccomend those seals u pour into the coolant which claim to seal and fix any leaks?
Hey 👋 the steal seal is ment to be good and the way I see it is if a £30 bottle of that fixes it the happy days ! If not your going to pay out any way so harm in trying 👍
@MrAutoFixer have you had any cases of it blocking up the heater core? Or causing blockages around the cooling system? Some reviews claim they cause heater cores to block up.
@ the only time it’s blocking the heater core is if you use too much, some people just shove loads In And hope for the best don’t be that guy lol 😂 just get a steel seal and put in the recommended amount and see how it goes if it don’t work then you know you have a bigger bill coming 👍
@@MrAutoFixer thanks alot got a sub from me
@@erkkadzai8226 thank you ☺️
Hi just found this channel, i have a citreon ds5, had esp/asr fault dectected and car went into limp mode, diag box at garage came up with fault code '5391 ECU' any ideas on a fix? Expensive or? Seen a lot of people online saying it could be fuel filter, low battery or even a wired sensor gone 🙄
Hi! Do you reckon it could be VANOS related - while driving on a motorway, or city driving when cold, it does a little jerk, but not like losing power - more like as if I floored it for a second and after that it changes the way it responds to throttle? Really sluggish and delayed at low rpms, fine above ~4k. Turning it off and on again fixes it until it hapens again. Cheers!
Hey I had one in with a similar fault and turned out to be the timing was slightly out. It might be worth you getting it diagnosed before it becomes a bigger problem 👍
Thanks for the quick reply, mate! Did a bunch on it recently, timing chain and all that comes with it, fuel pump, sparks, coils. This annoying thing was present before it all and still is. Just driving me crazy for ages now. So frustrating. Thanks again 🍻
Perfect thanks
Hey thanks for watching 😊
thank you very much for help! How to bleed the 1.6/2.0 TDI euro 6 engines? Only heat it up, and top the coolant tank?
Hey 👋 thanks for watching, Yh top up The coolant and run up to temp and check again, then test drive and recheck the level when cold 👍
How many miles has this car done. I’m thinking about buying a new Astra with the same engine. I’m worried now. Is there a chain conversion? Loved your work
Hey 👋 I think it’s about 40k on this one, if you do buy a car with this engine just have the belt done then you can’t go wrong 👍
Love the video! Clear and concise instructions. I am eager to crack on and replace mine. Euro Car Shafters had me in stiches 😂 liked and subscribed. BTW, do the oil pickup seal next please 😊
Hey 👋 thanks for watching, let me know how you get on with urs ! 👍
@ brilliant! Will do bud
I'm a retired mechanic and have one of these engines in my SUV. Very good video, I used to work at Citroen/Peugeot dealership in the late 80's so not worried about attempting this myself, Tools are reasonable for locking the timing. Enjoyed watching this. Thanks.😊😊👍👍👍👍
Hey 👋 thanks for watching, let me know how you get on when you do it 👍
@@MrAutoFixer will do it won't be this year though, got my brothers Ford Ka 1.2 to do shortly.😊😊🤣🤣 keeping my hand in even at 70. 👍👍
@@MrAutoFixer Noticed the mileage was only 40k, is this common? as mine is at 34k?
Always gotta keep a hand in the game just in case !
Yh I have seen them go bad on as little as 26k miles so the sooner the better in my opinion 👍
Car stopped for a few minutes while running with the red light on Started back again after some time Will this work ?
This procedure is to reset the service light after you’ve given the car service if you have other lights on the dash or the car is cutting out for whatever reason you should probably go to a garage and have it checked out
Hey, does this engine have a wet belt, like the one bathing in oil on the Transit Custom? I’m considering buying a 2022 Ford Transit Connect LWB model and wanted to check.
Hey 👋 they come with many different engines so it’s always best to check the engine code of the van you want to buy to check but many of the newer one are wetbelt 👍
i just paid over 500 quid to have mine done. they all cracked and even the garage had to get a specialist in to get them out. the chances of you getting all 4 out without issue is extremely low.
Hey 👋 I’ve never had an issue getting them out but some are just unlucky I guess. Glad you have it sorted tho 👍
Does anyone know why the outside temp has disappeared off the top left corner of my vivaro radio? New shape 2020?
Nice video short and sweet, I have a ford focus 1.5 diesel 2017 should the exhaust tip have a dark soot there, is this normal watched some videos saying if your finger is black then your dpf is damaged.
Hey 👋 technically no there shouldn’t be any soot there, do you have any other issues with the car to suspect a problem? Could be worth having it looked at and the dpf soot level checked ??
@MrAutoFixer no no issues no codes runs perfect will do the check just ordered the thinkcar scanner thanks.
@whatscookin8269 perfect that’s good then, let me know how you get on with the scanner
Did you replace your camshaft on this one
Hey 👋 yes you will have to replace the camshaft as it’s the lobes that spin on the shaft causing the issue 👍
Okay cheers and where did you get the torque specs from please could you send them through to me please would be much appreciated
@MrAutoFixer
Hi, I was P2455-00-AF fault code and the same cabel was broken. We fixed it, the MIL lamp gone, but now its show me P2455:00-27. We did something wrong?
Hey 👋 did you connect the correct wires? And are the connections good ?
@ i will check it again.
What is the cost of this repair?
Hey 👋 allow between 400 and 600 for the repair, prices will vary depending on what parts are used and where the garage is etc 👍
I’ve had one for a while now, great tool. Just subbed
Hey 👋 yes very handy around the workshop! Thanks for watching 👍
Will the van start if the glow plug relay is disconnected? The glow plug light is staying on but the glow plugs are not connected.
I’m pretty sure it will still run just will have a EML light on, just unplug it and give it a try 👍
@@MrAutoFixer Thanks, would that mean it will fail the MOT with the EML light on?
@liftingtheveil8361 yes it will fail a mot with it on just depends how much ya mot tester likes you 😂
Got 1 , bought it myself , looks a good piece of kit , looking forward to using it when I get 5 mins away from crap jobs that we have to do every day with a clock behind me that runs at twice the speed of light 😂😂😂, and the customer saying is it ready yet after dropping it off 5 minutes previously
Hey 👋 Yh I know that feeling! My clock is currently turned off I don’t need that negativity In my life right now 😂 Hope you get to use ya new tool soon it’s always fun to try out the new toys!
Just another French Crap. Good Luck!
Where do you put the pin to hold in place
what a great guy you are!! Most enjoyable. Thank You. ❤It 👍
Hey 👋 thanks for watching 😊
Also there is a £10 off voucher from Amazon at the moment to add more discount !
Nice video and also good to see the pre load for the suspension arm positioning, how many don't bother I wonder...
Hey 👋 thanks for watching 👍 and I don’t think many people pre load nowdays !
Brilliant! Thanks for that! Much appreciated!
Hey 👋 thanks for watching 👍
Great video, I unfortunately have a wet belt in my car and van. Like you say just keep on top of the maintenance and hope for the best. Where is your garage located?
If you do all the regular maintenance you will be fine 👍 I’m based in Essex
@ If only you wasn’t so far I need a reliable mechanic 🤣. Thanks for responding. All the best 👍🏻
@mitch0078 oh that’s a shame I’m always happy to look after people, best of luck 🤞
Don't buy any car with this engine a pile of shit
Hello How much would i expect to pay a mechanic to do that on my Vivaro 2018? Thanks
Hey 👋 I would allow up to £200 for the job inc parts
What year is this vehicle?
I think it was 2017 ish
Just had this confirmed by Fords on a 2018 1.5 TDCI EcoBlue , Engine was replaced by Fords in 2023 van only done 15,000 miles on replacement engine, driving along and it just cut out on me, loss of coolant and overheated, Fords replaced starter motor, coolant housing and BCM, got van started but suspect cracked cylinder head now, absolutely shocking. I have had nothing but issues with this van, spent over £5k on repairs and new parts since 2023, I’ll be taking it up with Fords customer care.
Wow that sounds like a headache! Good luck with getting it sorted 👍
How much work this cost to have done ive also got 2022 trafic
Hey 👋 I would allow up to £200 for this job inc parts just depends what parts you use will change the price 👍
I pulled mine today, looked exactly like this. I replaced the timing chain about 600 miles ago and it ran fine then started idling rough when it was really cold outside. I've never found any metal in the oil. Who wants to guess they're chips from original manufacturer?
Hey 👋 just check them again in a few miles and see if they have anything on them again 👍
Excellent guide. Gets straight to the point. Worked perfectly for PX3.
Hey 👋 thanks for watching
How long did the job take you?
Hey 👋 I would allow about 4-5 hours to do the job 👍
👍🏻
My wife's 1.2 has just gone, luckily I think the cold weather cause the oil pressure to drop off at cold start so I only did 500 yards on limp mode to the garage. 10years old and 50k miles, serviced religiously. My Dad has just bought a Ford Puma with the Eco Boost engine and that's on 20,000 mile, 2 year service intervals!?!
Pure tec engines get rid as soon as you can
Hey 👋 there not so bad if you keep on top of the maintenance 👍
@MrAutoFixer full service from new at citroen garage wet belt failed at 50.000 replaced failed again at 60.000 miles huge oil consumption
Well that’s just bad luck, sorry you had a bad experience
How you doing? Does the crank time up at tdc when rebuilding it?
Hey 👋 yes I’m sure it did, it was a while ago now lol , if you can I would get a look at the workshop manual just to be sure 👌
I've just purchased a set of NGK Glowplugs for my 2016 Trafic. After watching this video, I am now confident enough to replace them myself. Thank you for a great tutorial
Hey 👋 that’s great news, thanks for watching👍 let me know how you get on
I've replaced polen filter many times on my megane but I can't imagine doing it without removing the clutch pedal as even then it is tight squize to get it in. Don't really understand why renault didn't changed the sides for UK model.
Hey 👋 yes they are one of the most fiddly ones to change I am also confused as to why they didn’t change the side the access was! 🤯
Hi my seat leon 1.6 tdi needs this job doing to it. What price roughly should i be hearing for this job if i phone around? Thanks
You should be looking at around 500 for that job 👍
20mm round hole drilled in the bottom of the chassis extension just at the rise gives access to the end bolt using extension bar and magnetic socket without taking it all apart. How it should have been designed in the first place.
Hey 👋 great advice, that would work too well that’s why they didn’t do it out the factory lol 😂
I subscribed
Hey thanks for watching 🤗
