    Excellent review. Thanks for sharing. I'm looking at a 2017 which is a little older nowadays but this review is still super helpful.

    _I LOVE this kayak.•••>__allmy.tips/SevylorKayaks?bむw__ I have a hard plastic one, but when I discovered the inflatable kayaks, and tried them out, I was hooked! It is safe, durable and so easy to transport. You will not feel "tippy" on this at all. I am thinking of buying another to have on hand when guests visit me at the lake. There is no heavy hoisting to a car top rack -- I may never use the hard kayak again. The only negative is that the paddle blades that come with it are too small. You will want to invest in one with larger blades._

    What’s up bro? +islandyakin You have a great feed here ... keep it up man. I am trying to get the dimensions for the flush mount (Rear rod holders) I was wondering if you could do me a favor and measure that for me because I am creating a rocket launcher rod holder for the Hobie outbacks to sell on eBay. Although I don’t currently own a Hobie outback at the moment. I am trying my hardest to get one very soon. Could you do me a favor please and measure the distance from the left side of the kayak of the flush mount rod holder to the right side of the kayak of the flush mount rod holder You can Email me at : Jasonandthehobiedream@gmail.com

    Pulled the trigger on the outback last month, (your review was very helpful making the decision) and have zero buyers remorse. Louisiana here, and it is fantastic in the marsh sight fishing reds, spec's, catfish & bass. Has a fantastic shallow draft, makes it easy getting places those bass boats can't. Thanks for the review.

    Nice review. I've been contemplating taking the pedal drive plunge and the Outback is the one I've been looking at. Getting closer to pulling the trigger as I watch these reviews. I can paddle my Perception Striker 11.5 about 4 miles in a day, but that's pushing myself pretty hard and I'd love to be able to cover more water than that in a day's fishing so that's why I'm looking into the Outback. How much distance do you feel comfortable covering in one day with your Outback?

    Nice video, I'm thinking about buying the Outback next year and giving my wife my newly purchased Pescador Pilot 12.0. Im not sure though, I think im gonna test it out first and also test the Native Slayer Propel 13..... see which one better suits me.. They are both in the same price range, except the Native is 200$ more.... Gave you a sub, show luv back.....

    About to pull the trigger on either an outback or the outback camo. Just wondering if you feel the turbo fins and sailing rudder were worth the additional cost over the regular outback? Thnx

    Nice review! Thinking of swapping out my Pro Angler 12 for the Outback so I can cartop rather than trailer. The one thing I did not like about the Outback is the smaller round hatch in front of the seat, but really like that you had the shop add the rectangular hatch similar to the Pro Angler. I find that hatch super useful for carrying baits, terminal tackle, phone, keys, etc.

    you need to readjust your rudder tension if you are turning way to sharp. chech the user manual on tension adjustment.

    • @islandyakin531
      @islandyakin531 8 років тому

      Alext3557 I eventually figured it out and it works now. Still a sharper turn to the left due to the design of the rudder.

    • @Alext3557
      @Alext3557 8 років тому

      Island Yakin if it's turning left then you need to adjust your cables for yhe rotor. you can find a lot of tips online and also your dealer should have explained that to you. it's very easy to fix.

    I made the same investment. I rented a PA 14 got stuck in skinny water, went to Outback. I got the same kayak but added H rails to troll on the sides.

  • @jeremypierce1607
    @jeremypierce1607 8 років тому

    I think the left hand turn issue comes from the way the rudder stows and the mechanism that allows it to come up allows it to go farther to that side.

  • @derekbushnell1309
    @derekbushnell1309 8 років тому

    Hey cleat the down cable once you pull it. I made the same mistake. The cleat is just below the right side pouch. It holds the rudder in place. When you go to raise it. Uncleat it then pull the raise cable. Works great after that.

      How much did they charge you for installing the the square storage hatch?

    • @rammizle
      @rammizle 7 років тому

      Was about to comment the same. Yup once you hold the cable on the right in place then it is stable for as long as you are on the water, just release the cable when you want to pull the rudder off the water.

    Nice review. Do you find it easy to deploy? I'm looking to get 2 new yaks this spring. Top contenders are hobie outback, revo, and pescador pilot. The pescador is new for 2017, and cheaper, but not sure if the quality is there for long term usage. Hobie is always a safe bet.

    • @islandyakin531
      @islandyakin531 8 років тому

      I used the hobie kayak cart and it is amazing. It is easy to get on and off of the cart. The outback works well in shallow water and deeper water systems. Hobie products are expensive but are made of excellent quality. I immediately noticed the difference in the parts from my old kayak.

    • @islandyakin531
      @islandyakin531 8 років тому

      If you are unsure of the correct choice, rent all three before purchasing. Or just get a Hobie lol

    • @riverfishing2051
      @riverfishing2051 8 років тому

      Yakfishin, that's familiar advice. Many have said the same... but then I would need to choose between the revo and outback ;-)

    Not sure if it's a sign but, I have been fishing the same Heritage Angler you have in the back round for the last 4 plus years from Acadamy. Always wanted the cuda, but now there is sooooo many good choices out there. Should I go cuda' coo saves or big rig"

    • @islandyakin531
      @islandyakin531 8 років тому

      It depends. If you are bigger guy or you want better stability go with the big rig if you plan on standing while fishing. If you are going to be putting a lot of miles in during fishing trips I would go with the Cuda. It all depends on your personal fishing style and area that you are fishing. Just find something you like and you can't go wrong.
