little brother, big brother love
Muhammad Ali is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes and cultural icons of the 20th century. His greatness goes beyond his achievements in the boxing ring, as his character, principles, and personality deeply resonated with people around the world. Here’s why he is so revered: --- Key Characteristics of Muhammad Ali: 1. Unparalleled Skill in Boxing: Ali had exceptional speed, agility, and strategy, earning him titles such as "The Greatest." His unique fighting style, including his famous "Ali Shuffle" and ability to "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," set him apart. 2. Courage and Confidence: Ali was unflinchingly confident, often engaging in poetic trash talk that captivated audiences. He fought formidable opponents, even under immense pressure, and often overcame the odds. 3. Conviction and Principles: He famously refused to be drafted into the Vietnam War, stating that it went against his beliefs and faith, despite knowing this could cost him his career and freedom. His stance on civil rights, equality, and justice inspired millions, especially marginalized communities. 4. Charisma and Wit: Ali had an electrifying personality. His humor, charm, and ability to connect with people made him a global icon. He was as much a showman as he was a fighter, drawing people to him beyond just his sports achievements. 5. Resilience and Determination: Despite being banned from boxing for three years during his prime, he returned stronger, reclaiming his heavyweight title. His resilience extended into his later years as he battled Parkinson's disease with grace and continued to inspire through his philanthropic efforts. 6. Humanitarian Spirit: Ali was deeply involved in humanitarian work, promoting peace, helping underprivileged communities, and serving as a global ambassador for goodwill. He used his fame to raise awareness about important issues, from racial injustice to global peace. --- Why People Love Muhammad Ali: 1. Symbol of Strength and Dignity: Ali stood up for his beliefs, even at great personal cost, making him a symbol of strength and integrity. 2. Inspiration Across Generations: His story of perseverance, self-belief, and overcoming adversity continues to inspire athletes, activists, and everyday individuals. 3. Universal Appeal: Ali transcended barriers of race, religion, and nationality. His humanity and humility endeared him to people globally. 4. Voice for the Voiceless: As a Black Muslim athlete in a tumultuous era, Ali gave a voice to the oppressed and became a beacon of hope for equality and freedom. 5. Legacy of Greatness: Ali’s achievements in the ring, combined with his social impact, make him a figure who represents excellence, courage, and compassion. --- Muhammad Ali was more than just a boxer; he was a leader, a trailblazer, and a hero whose influence went far beyond sports. His legacy remains timeless.
This is a classic! ❤
2024 still goosebumps
Billy Crystal, the comedian and actor, shared a unique and deep friendship with Muhammad Ali, who affectionately referred to Crystal as his "little brother." Their bond began in the 1970s when Crystal's career was taking off, and Ali was at the height of his fame as a boxing champion. Their Relationship: 1. First Meeting: Billy Crystal and Muhammad Ali met when Crystal performed a comedic impression of Ali. Instead of being offended, Ali loved the impersonation and was charmed by Crystal's humor. This led to a lifelong friendship. 2. Ali's Nickname for Crystal: Ali began calling Crystal his "little brother," highlighting their close bond. Crystal reciprocated the affection, describing Ali as a mentor and a source of inspiration. 3. Tributes and Legacy: Crystal often paid tribute to Ali in his performances, including heartfelt and humorous impersonations. At Muhammad Ali's funeral in 2016, Crystal delivered a moving eulogy, recounting their friendship and celebrating Ali's charisma, humor, and greatness. 4. A Unique Connection: Despite their vastly different backgrounds, Crystal and Ali connected through their shared sense of humor, love for performing, and mutual respect. Crystal once said that Ali's friendship changed his life and taught him about courage, kindness, and being true to oneself. Their relationship remains a testament to Ali's ability to form meaningful bonds with people from all walks of life.

Watching Ali laugh at Billy, is just some of the best moments on this medium.

God bless Billy Crystal! A tru brother!
Little brother.
Amazing tribute to the champ.
I'm from Philippines and I was in high school during Thrilla in Manila. I'm a fan of Ali and he made Filipinos happy much like when Manny Pacquiao wins in big fights. There's a shopping mall in Quezon City Philippines named after this great boxer and we call it Ali Mall and this is 2024 and that mall is still in business. I remember also that Ali was an athlete of the century.
Clint Eastwood can talk! 😂
Yes
That was amazing! I feel I've gained armor. Thanks Ali. Heading to you old stomping grounds in Louisville, KY soon ❤️👆🏽
Such a brilliantly thoughtout delivery! Amazing talent always rises to the top! 🙌🏽
