Review & Testing the Cheapest Fishing Multi-Tool on Amazon: Vimov Pliers/Line Cutter/Split Ring
Переглядів 1394 роки тому
A quick review and testing of the Vimov Fishing Multi-Tool from Amazon. I was looking for a new, small fishing tool to cut line, crimp barbs, unhook fish and open split rings and I think this is it! No thoughts on durability (yet) but happy with the results of the tests I put it through including barb crimping, line cutting (fluorocarbon, braid and line backing) and changing split rings. Amazon...

How to Process & Clean Dungeness Crab - The Fast & Easy Way! Warning: Graphic Content!
Переглядів 884 роки тому
A short tutorial of how I learned to process and clean Dungeness crab which I believe is the fastest and easiest way (as well as possibly the most humane way). The technique is based on creating a cut or crack down the center of the belly of the crab from the mouth to the apron (sex organs). This allows you to quickly kill and half the crab without removing the apron or forcibly pulling the bac...

Spin fishing is gay
Great video. Like the tip re wetting the toothpick. Not sure I agree with using mono instead of fluorocarbon for leader. While mono has more stretch I think there is plenty of stretch available in the main part of the line, and the lack of stretch in 6 feet of fluorocarbon has minimal impact. Fluorocarbon won't tangle anywhere near as easily as mono. Also, I think the stiffness of the line affects the roll of the anchovy - provides more of a whip in the water, giving a better roll. FWIW I use 30 lb test, although I know a lot of guides use 40 lb. I usually use Seaguar STS, which is 1/4 of the price of Seaguar Blue Label and seems to work just as well.
Are you using a strike indicator for fishing nymphs on those bigger thompson runs and pools
We weren’t but you could for sure. Most strikes were happening on the back half of the drift so you know when they take it. Good luck and have fun up there!
With some people "the pool of B.S." gets so deep that you need a floatation device, to get through it🤣!! I've fished for all 5 species of P. Salmon & Steelhead since 1974 and I still can't determine the sex, based on how they fight!! However at the first glance (in or out of water), I can determine the Sex by looking the shape of the head*!! Oh, in B.C. you may look at this magnificent spawning fish (Oncorhynchus keta), and relegate them to "Sturgeon- bait" (in your mind), as many meat-fishermen often do. In some rivers of the Pacific Northwest (U.S.), anglers finally respect these amazing and extremely hard-fighting anadromous species, Only after, some systems were faced with Special regulations, such as "Fly Fishing Only" + Catch and Release!!
Very interesting! is it in lona beach?

Great video...Where can I buy the blue foam to store them 👍
Thanks! If you live near Vancouver, Berry’s Baits or Pacific Net & Twine should have them. They’re pretty cheap. If not, I’m sure Amazon probably has something similar. Alternatively, a lot of guides will just buy 2” pvc piping and foam pipe insulation from Home Depot. More bulky but no creases in your leaders. Tight lines!
I think they’re just called leader boards.
Thanks alot
You can also use a basic foam swimming noodle - costs about $3 from Canadian Tire or Home Hardware. Cut it into 6 - 8 inch lengths and you will have more than enough to store your rigs safely.
you have no idea how to handle trout. get on the water you idiot.Your beating the shit out of those fish on rocks. keep them in the water, better yet., get your ass off the river
Great vid tob !
Your camera quality is amazing, thanks for the instructive vid.
Thank you! Still, always shopping for camera upgrades I can’t afford. Just like fishing gear... Tight lines.
Nice fishing trip. Lovely river. Well done, my friend.
Hey great video. I'm from kamloops. Wondering where abouts this video was recorded?
Dave Killips day 1 was Steelhead at Savona to Juniper Beach and day 2 was Juniper down to just before Ashcroft. FYI, as the water drops, the rapids get chunky with exposed boulders so just be careful and pick your drift line well in advance.
Nice Rainbow 😁
YUKION Channel thanks. Didn’t get into any bigger fish. Out of 6 of us, only one 18” was caught. I know there’s some lunkers in there. Snapped me off on the dry fly in previous years. I’ll be back!
I was a weigh boater in that derby
Taegan Harries thanks for volunteering - it’s such a great derby. Shame about this year, hopefully we’ll all be back next year!
What is that chest camera you're using? Sound is too good to be just a gopro, is it?
It’s a “custom rig”. GoPro 7 Black with the ext. mic adaptor and a cheap $20 lav mic with wind muff. Also running an external 10000mah power bank thru the adapter. Can film for 2 days without dying. GP batteries suck.
@@badfishinghabit5458 So you're running the gears without the full case on?
Benoît Loriaux with the side door off to access the usb-c port. So, not waterproof - that’s why I didn’t shoot in the rain storm. The only other option for good audio is using a separate recorder and syncing in post which would be better - could mount the camera anywhere - but more work. Might try it.
Every time, these drone footages are getting me to watch the entire thing. I'll be your 11th subscriber ;)
Benoît Loriaux thanks! The drone was on my gear wish list for a long time. This was shot on the $700 Mavic Mini if you can believe it! (If I splashed a $2500 Mavic, I would throw up...)
@@badfishinghabit5458 I have actually been debating going for the Mavic Pro, going through the exam and paper work and then head out on the water to get some footage as I just moved to Agassiz there are a lot of areas to explore out here.
Benoît Loriaux if you can afford it, go for it. Superior quality from the Pro for sure also the ability to adjust shutter speed (no weird flicker or choppy movement). The one thing I’m missing (from all my gear) is shooting in 4K. Didn’t think I would need it for this but every time I need to do a zoom in to show detail, I wish I had it. I also don’t have the CPU power to edit 4K anyways... upgrades.
Love it 🤟👍
Great content dude keep it up. Just subbed
Thanks sir! Much appreciated. Just getting started!
