Birding in Thailand, after a week in Central Thailand we flew to Phuket and toured the South. We travelled with Wild Bird Eco, our guide Par for the Southern part of the trip helped us see many specialities and plenty of our targets. Our final species count was 292, of which 118 were lifers; but we were going for quality rather than quantity, the star birds were 6 Pitta species including amazin...

Birding in Thailand, after Kaeng Krachan we were on the way to Khao Yai, stopping on the way for a bit of twitching. Correction: 01:48 is a White-bellied Erpornis, not a Striated Yuhina! We travelled with Wild Bird Eco, our guide Nang for the Central part of the trip helped us see many specialities and plenty of our targets. We can't always get photos of every species - our style is "birding wi...

Birding in Kenya, our third destination was Kakamega Forest. Many great species, but the thick vegetation made it difficult to see and photograph them. After that we headed to Kisumu for a boat trip on Lake Victoria, to find the papyrus specialists. We travelled with Cisticola Tours, our guide Simon and driver/guide Winston helped us see many specialities and plenty of our targets. We can't alw...

Birding in Colombia, the third and final part of our trip, to Montezuma Rainforest Lodge in Tatama National Park. It was worth spending 3 days here, in the Choco bioregion, where there are many endemic and near-endemic species. Our guide was Carlos Delgado and we also had local guide Fernando. In this site alone, we saw 154 species, increasing our trip total to 380 species. We did even better w...

Great video and thanks. If I was to set up a base in Jardin to go birdwatching in and around that area. Could you recommend any places to check out, just so we can maximize different species ?
Hi there, the best place in Jardin was the Cock-of-the-rock lek which is "Reserva Natural Jardín de Rocas", you can walk there from the town. Camino de la Herrera is very good too. The main reason most people go there is for the Yellow-eared Parrot reserve which is maybe 1 hour drive to the South East and fairly easy to bird from the road side. Mirador El Roble is a bit further away but well worth it for the antpittas and hummingbirds.
I see some of these birds around the village. I have some 'smoky headed bulbuls' roost under my garage roof at certain times of the year! Great pictures! * Si Phang Na--pronounced 'See Pang Nar'.
Thank you for your comment. You are very lucky to have those amazing birds around you

Thanks for sharing this video! One small observation: The bird you titled Striated Yuhina actually seems to be a White-bellied Erpornis.
Yes you're right, thanks for pointing it out!
Vidio serangga yang keren ❤❤❤🎉😢
Thank you very much
Amazing video and photos! Is November still a good time to see all or most of these species on the same areas?
In November the resident species like Pittas and Broadbills might be more difficult because they aren't breeding and are quieter, but a lot of migrants overwinter in Thailand! It's a great time to see the legendary Spoon-billed Sandpiper and Nordmann's Greenshank. I'd probably lean into that, and visit the North and Central areas since they get more migrants.
Great info! Will you be there in November, or know any birding group that I could connect to?
I'm afraid not, our next trip is to Peru in November :) For Thailand we've been twice with www.wildbirdeco.net and both times were amazing!
@@spottybeetles1040 Thank you so much! Peru is definitely a great bird place for amazing bird images. Have fun!!

Good evening, I watched the 3 videos, they were all very good, I am traveling to Medellin in November, I already have reservations at a LasTangaras and Montezuma.- ;and the area of Manizales and Pereira was very interesting, could you show me the places with feeders that you visited because in The translation does not appear correctly and my English is very bad.- Thank you very much in advance.- Henry Argentina
Hi Henry, sure! The feeders we visited on the way to Manizales is Mirador El Roble. The feeders around Manizales with the Antpittas were in Rio Blanco lodge. And the ones from 07:32 onwards were Tinamu lodge. Have a great time!
Thank you very much, good information, maybe I will ask you again later, it's good that you respond right away Greetings@@spottybeetles1040
Hello,woww...what a beautiful and rich wildlife there and excellent images!! How could this small snake catch this big prey? I think he can't swallow it.....Greetings Gijs😊😊
I don't know what type of snake it was, I think non-venomous from the head shape and eyes, but yes a very large prey! We watched for about 30 minutes or more, eventually we had to move on, so unfortunately we don't know how it ended.

Amazing creatures. Some are beautiful, some of them not but all are very interesting to see. 👍 Warm greetings!
Wonder which ones are not beautiful. Could be the millipedes? Glad you found the video interesting. We are fans of caterpillars😃
@@spottybeetles1040 Red banded milipede was very beautiful :) Great capture of it! I was not very thrilled with 1:40, 2:20 and 3:19 for example 😅 But as I wrote, it was very interesting to watch all of them. Greetings!

Is the Great Myna same as the Crested Myna in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR and Singapore 🇸🇬 Hong Kong 🇭🇰 waterfront areas of the semi- rural parts of the New Territories also has the Greater Coucal, the White-breasted Waterhen as well as other shore birds.
Great Myna is also called White-vented Myna. It is quite similar to Crested Myna but a different species.
