Some good ones. The best I ever saw was a dual midair/flyaways. WAM Fast Combat, about 1986-87, Del Mar High School football field, San Jose. One of my work buddies came to watch the contest, so I am showing him around. We go over to combat, which was sort of down in a bowl with bleachers along one side. I tell him "now, when they start to fly, stand up!". He sorts of hems and haws, the match starts, and I get him to stand up, he wasn't buying it, he sort of "oh, ok, if you insist" sort of thing. 15 seconds in, midair and dual cutaway. Before either of us knows what happened, one airplane flew off at high speed over our heads into the pressbox at the top of the bleacher, and collapses the side (3/4" plywood"). My buddy turns to me in shock "what the HELL was that!?" The other airplane takes off like a B Gas FF plane, higher and higher, almost out of sight. Note this is in the packed suburbs/commercial districts of San Jose, packed with houses 20 feet apart or major surface streets and businesses for 5 miles in any direction. Finally it quits and it comes down, a mile or so from the site, probably in someone's back yard. They jump in the car and take off trying to find it, good luck. No one batted an eye, next match up.

I flew a couple combat ships back in the 70s but the speed and maneuverability of models these days is absolutely nuts. I would never have been able to keep up.

Great video dude. I have 3 combat planes to smash this year, i have very limited combat experience. Trying to learn from your videos. Seems difficult to not tangle up the lines in a combat match.

How the heck should i cover my foam wing combat plane? I have the iron on super light clear plastic covering, or Modge Podge and paint? I also have RC iron on covering.
