Amazing day of halibut fishing landed 5 and went home happy.

Hooked this guy fishing for rockfish on accident and it turned out to be my biggest halibut ever. 34 pounds and 42 inches. Caught on the new Diawa Lexa 400h-p and Phenix psx809. Pick up all your new gear at been their caught that!!!

Great day of crabbing at the pier with nice weather. If you guys were wondering I was using crab slayer snares and 45 pound braided line. Today was a little slow but the crab season is in full swing so go out and catch yourself some.

A 40” halibut will produce 5 times more offspring each season than a 30 “. Don’t keep anything above 40”
The halibut population where I live is thriving. So taking a few 40" each year won't hurt anything.
Where ever there is a 40inch there is a 160 pound one near

Congratulations!! Just be aware of the limit. Two halibut and one rod in the water for non-commercial license. The fine is considerable. Congratulations!

It’s better to use barbless hooks. It makes releasing the fish you don’t want much easier without hurting the fish “trying” to take out the hook. Congrats on that halibut. Dems sum gud filays 😎👍🏼

@@rainzer0 pretty sure he was fishing south of Point Conception which opened April 1st. Also he offered to give the one he caught to his friend. I was just curious why. Does he not like to eat them, etc. maybe he was only targeting Verms.
I don't like to keep lings because in that area their population is low.
