Bryce Canyon Departure
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 роки тому
Enroute to PHX, we wanted to stop somewhere interesting, top up with fuel, and Bryce Canyon was on the map. Sweet little airport, friendly FBO (like a gas station for airplanes), and nice long runway (needed, as Bryce Canyon airport elevation is 7590 feet!)
Piper M350 Startup and Departure Procedure
Переглядів 25 тис.2 роки тому
After flying Cirrus for 8 years, we've upgraded to a Piper M350, PA-46 twin turbo, single engine, six-place airplane. I've just over 150 hours on the airplane, and here to share the startup and departure procedure!

why do you say your callsign one last time at the end after the airport name? Should I do that? Ive never heard anyone do that.

Good video...👍 But I think a lavotary is most needed than a fuel tank... When a plane is more than 4 seater....😀

Nice vídeo, I had the opportunity to fly a Matrix here in Brazil, it's a really great machine and taught me a lot. Congratulations and waiting for more videos showing more details about this aircraft operations! Enjoying from Brazil

What year M350? We had a 2015 M350, about the same paint job before moving to the M600.

Yep. Just over 200kts true at altitude (25,000’), 22 gph, 110gal tanks, around 3150lbs empty, max takeoff weight 4350…

@@donriep Standard fuel load for all piston PA 46 models including M350 is 120 gallons total useable. There is an STC to gain an additional 20 gallons [ten per side] by placing an additional set of filler caps outboard of the factory filler ports-the fuel tank goes all the way to the wingtip but wing dihedral limits standard load to 120 gallons. 22 gph in cruise sounds a bit high, at a fairly typical cruise setting of 2400/28" ROP fuel flow should be around 19-20 gph, not sure if your engine is happy running LOP [some Lycoming's are, some aren't] but if so, you can easily reduce fuel flow to ~ 16 GPH with little sacrifice in TAS. Max operating altitude is FL 250 but airplane seems happiest between FL 190-230 although I do use FL 250 if weather and winds aloft favor. Certainly, a nice flying machine, pressurization makes it very comfortable to use the Flight Levels on any longish trip and you have other tools like onboard weather radar which if properly used can do wonders for enhancing flight safety.

Excellent video, Don. The M350 is one of my favorite airplanes.
