Trimming Setup On A Slope - Truck Or Spider Lift?

Second tree trimming job i did on this sloped property that was wet after hurricane helene rain had come thru. Got stuck the last time i was here. 11 trees in 5 hrs. Was the bucket truck the best option for this or could an arborist style truck, or spider lift have been better? Would they have been as fast? Leveling Concrete With Spray Foam - Boiler Leaning
Переглядів 82Місяць тому
Last year we installed an outdoor wood boiler and it involved pouring a pad over top of our trench for our water lines. Even with trying to compact it, the trench subsided and left us with a leaning OWB. Here we level it up with some spray foam and only a minor crack in the pad.

did you ever figure out the source of the noise?
Yes, it was the beginnings of a rod bearing going out. Took an hour long trip towing my big trailer and chevy 2500, and 50 minutes in it gave out. But i was running it in 3rd gear and spinning 3k rpm most the way. ua-cam.com/video/T3fWlYeHkyo/v-deo.htmlsi=1lptsbj7hjW0dpPI&t=697
What would happen if you cored to below ground level then angled the draft hole down to it? Would it burn deeper?
Love it. Quick and easy.
A light "light" mist is all that you should do on a dry pour. Wait about 10-15 minutes and light mist it again. I would to that for an hour. Wait overnight and get more aggressive with the water. It will look much better and if you had it nice and flat, it should still look good after the water is applied.
Yes it would appear better with a light mist but for what it is i didn't care about appearance, just looking for the quickest solution to get back to stacking wood. I was surprised at how well it saturated after just the first watering.
Add another 4 inches to the outside pad? It will hide the crack.
It could be hidden but no need. Its only a small hair line crack that doesn't hurt anything. Very pleased with only a small crack in that pad with no reinforcement, and as much subsidence that happened under it.
I do recommend some kind of mask while dry pouring concrete. that powder does a number on your lungs. even just a wet rag over your face
Good recommendation. If you look close in the speed up portion of the video i did have on a black cloth mask. Its one of the triple layer cloth covid relics. But i do like it for dusty situations, sawmilling, and mowing grass.
Best way to burn a stump out is dig around the stump and get the stump burning from the bottom upwards.
Throw some river rocks in there for a good time
Get a flapper style decal remover. The rubber one.
I had wondered if the flapper would do better than the smooth one i have. I never bought one because i thought it would still be bad about smearing the decals as it starts removing them if you don't scrape most the decal off first.
yea wait till the root system is so hot its hard to put out and they travel.
Could pour the gas in a few hours before cutting the air hols to have it soak into the wood
Insteresting. I never watch these kind of videos but this one ( @6:43 ua-cam.com/video/3028Zcw8I_Y/v-deo.html ) has part of this footage in it which was just recommended to me. Just watched it right before this one. Not sure if this is you but they used your video if so. :)
Yep looks like they used it and summarized it well!
Any issues with that model? I’m buying one for $500 from a friend of a friend, needs some welding on the air charge tube for the reaction chamber other than that it’s supposed to be mint, seems like a hard deal to pass on for a starter wood boiler
Only thing better than $500 is FREE!! Thats a smokin deal. You can check out the first part of this video and it shows the welding repairs i did to mine. ua-cam.com/video/HqtE4hdPZAA/v-deo.htmlsi=-o1i0YMsjXE2o7vr I only had to repair the air tubes/channels in the firebox. No leaks in the water jacket and doesn't look to ever have any repairs on the water jacket. Main thing is to clean the air channels/tubes in the firebox and the control box and make sure the fan is working properly. The previous owner had mentioned some issues, but i think it was boiling over on him because his pump was dead. Seemed like it was working but, it had very little flow. Swapped that out and it works great now. Also he had le the air tubes clog up, and if it can't breathe its not going to work. My air channels don't seem to clog much, but im heating 5k sqft so it works it fairly hard. If your not working it as hard you might have to keep up on air tube cleaning more. I was worried about this older series of boiler but i have been very pleased. And i have left the lever up a time or two for the bypass in the top of the firebox and noticed it consumes alot more wood and takes a good bit longer to heat the water when its working like a traditional boiler. The down draft is significantly better at heating water and consumes alot less wood!!
Great, thanks! Now I know what to expect
You had me until the trackhoe.

When ever i see these i always wonder why no one puts the core back in
Sketch and rough idle 😊
Why didn't you speed up the process by cutting another 1 or 2 feet of stump? There was obvious room/clearance to cut it much lower to the ground. Also, you could have saved that extra hard wood for a fire pit or fireplace.
I left it high so that it acts like a chimney and creates a natural draft so it burns on its own for long periods of time.
So sketch. Ppe ? Never heard of her 😂
Hell yeah brother, greetings from Ireland
Really appreciate this video, thank you!
Glad i could be a help!
4:10 we can all appreciate a good amount of slit
Yeah, well I get the fire department called on me if I just try to burn a pile of leaves in my town, so...
Your lucky you didn’t set fire to the building when using the leaf blower…
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen
Dangerous to set fire to stumps because the roots can ignite and smoulder and burn under the ground.. nnear a building, roots can charcoal a fire
did you not drill out the end of the crack lime?
No i didn't drill it. The way the rim takes loading it was going to crack from that inside most edge where the braze ended. Cracking from center out to edge was not very likely.
038 Sounds Like a boss it did pretty well straight but it needs a Bit Performance. The 661 needs bark box and is the King of woods
That 038 does sound the best and it does a good job for its age and bar size. Haven't tried any muffler modding, but if I do I think the 361 will get it first. It could use more power. The 661 is definitely a beast.
@ yeah try to port the 038 and give the 661 a bark box muffler mod it will wake up more 🔥
Big Braining. I like it
And the flame follows a root right into your crawl space or celler!
Don't have to worry about that. I live in flat land, where i hit water at 20" just digging our foundation for the new edition. Couldn't make those roots burn if you had too!!
Hello everyone
Hello. Welcome to the channel.
Sharpin that mf lol dam jaha 😊😮😅😢😂😂
Cook something
"You never know 'til you burn 'em". Truer words have never been spoken.
Alot less time just taking the chain saw to the stump and carve on it until done, ya recken ?
It was worth the enjoyable evenings sitting around the fire, and i never could have gotten it down a foot underground with just a chainsaw.
Check out Project Farms strength test on the Hobart rods.
I did see that video before i decided between these Hobart rods and the Alumiweld. This video was specific to a groove weld joint like i did when i used this to repair an aluminum rim. I could have had it welded but wanted to give these a try. Worked well for a year, but finally recracked. ua-cam.com/video/nyyP4XaAt8Q/v-deo.html
Guess ill rent a grinder
How do you guys turn your backup pump on? on our 96 Versalift there are no function switches so I assume somehow it has to get cut on and run in small increments just like the main pump was on. Its not working currently but plan on getting it working. Hope it only needs a solenoid switch. Thanks for sharing!
For ours to work the PTO has to be engaged, and the truck keyed on but not running. Then using the lower controls, we have a button to push to activate the controls. When truck is running the controls activate normally, but when truck is not running(key on PTO engaged) and you push the button the auxillary electric pump will run. On the upper controls there should also be an "Emergency Plunger" to activate controls. If truck is keyed on and PTO was engaged and truck stops running it should activate the electric pump. Atleast that how our Terex-HiRanger is supposed to work.
@@IndependenceIron Ok thanks!
@@IndependenceIron Hey do you have to bleed any air after replacing a hydraulic line?
@@RC-Heli835 I do not bleed after replacing a hydraulic line. Not saying that you can't or shouldn't but it is difficult especially ones in the boom. Small amounts of air will get entrained in the fluid as it cycles and will eventually make its way back to tank and settle out. Now if i were to replace a cylinder with a large air volume i would probably try to prefill if possible especially on load locked cylinders where you could fill and then effectively cap the cylinder with the load lock valves.
@IndependenceIron OK thanks ! I just put a new hydraulic pump on our 96 gmc Topkick with a versalift 36pi. It just seems a bit noisy when the bucket control hydralics is turned on. It's quite with the pistol grip applied though to move the bucket. I wish there were more bucket truck maintenance videos out.

Anyone else notice the blue shed door blowing open?
Haha i didn't even notice that. Its my daughters playhouse that we built with wood we sawed on our bandmill. Kids never shut doors lol!!
Fill a small spray bottle with diesel fuel. Have someone turn over the engine while you spray fuel into the air intake. It will start even if you did not bleed the injector lines. Much easier and faster.
Man I see why back in the day , people used wood to heat their homes, because that one stump burned for almost 8 hours
2:14 This is a good opportunity to warn people about the risks of lighting gasoline. I have an uncle who spent six weeks in the hospital burn unit because he lit a hornet nest with a small amount of gas from his lawnmower. The vapors exploded and things didn't go well for him after that. My fuel of choice for this kind of project is diesel. It works well, is cheap, and doesn't have explosive tendencies at normal temperatures.
That's so cool
Dang the cops got called quick.. Is there a burn ban.? 😅
Don't.
