Replace the speaker with a full range Celestion F12M 150 Triple Cone. Install a pair of short fender amp tilt arms. Plug a modeling pedal board directly into the power amp input, and bingo, you have a strong, killer, rig. I was a professional for years, and this was my practice amp for years. I found myself without a live rig and made the changes I mentioned, while using a POD HD. I couldn't be happier.

The color knob adds more body and mids. The pedal also works and sounds better without any buffers before it. It’s a bit like a fuzz face that’s more of an overdrive. It’ll clean up pretty well with your volume knob even with the gain maxed on the pedal.

Hi from Rome. I just bought a used one, without speaker, but working for 20 euros. Unfortunately all the jack sockets, but hedphone jack, being made of plastic, have crumbled, due to age and I am replacing them with all metal female jack. Fortunately I had a speaker of the same size, and the holes also match!

These bodies were sold under different names. mine is a saturn. I fitted a Cort neck on it and some pickups i had lying around. Sounds great.. Superb body; very resonant. LOVE IT. A lot of Harmonys don't feel as good or play as good as this. I did NOT cut into it for the PUs. It was not cut out, only spring holes

I have the very same Guitar in Aquaburst. It's a "U2 96/56 Reissue". Found it in a pawn shop in Anniston Alabama for $125. Pretty sure it is the very same guitar a friend had lent me in college to play a gig. Initially though "What the hell kind of guitar is this?" By the end of the night I was begging him to sell it to me. Funny finding it again by accident, years later, and getting it for a song. (SWIDT?)

I have my Dad's old 335 style Teisco and I'm looking to replace the pickups. Any advice of what to replace them with? I have a new Gibson figured and I love that tone! There was a Silvertone version of this guitar too, Had binding around neck. crap whammy bar. Had action on it, that was so pitiful, had to be a 1/4 inch off the fretboard, woulda been good for slide. was my 1st beginner guitar, built up finger strength on it. 2nd guitar only a few 6 months later was a 1968 Gretsch Blackhawk, that one was very playable, and had it for 5 years at least. the Gretsch was full hollowbody, think because it had Supertron pickups it helped with feedback issues and the Tuning Fork bridge helped with feedback, If you took it out, it made it unruly. I have had at least 6 strats, the 1971 was the best one. The 66 had to weak of pickups, they needed rewinding.

I just picked one of these up from a pawn shop for $140canadian, in the blue/cream colour. It's a ton of fun, since it's super light and sounds one of a kind especially with some fuzz on it. It's great when I don't want to take out an expensive guitar just to mess around with. My action is quite low, and frets are great. My biggest complaint is the bridge, not so much for playing but for adjustabilty. Changing strings is a pain, as the ball ends are kind of hard to keep in place. The tuners are terrible, and if you want to replace them you'll need to do a little modification unless you find the Korean made gotohs that are a direct fit. I just left it as is, as it works and I don't want to mess with the sound. Nice review!

My sympathies for the hard times that you went through when this video was filmed, I hope things have improved for you. You sound like a very down-to-earth person who speaks from the heart. I have a few Japanese guitars and my experience with them are hit or miss. When it's a hit, they're amazing instruments. When it's a miss, they're low quality and feel like cheap plastic. I tried a Domino Rebel Californian and that was a miss sadly. Going to check out a Greco GR-974 in a few days. From the pictures it looks like it's much better than the Domino but we'll see.

I enjoyed this video and had it on while cleaning my room. I purchased a blue flower jazzmaster and modded it too. I have a gold anodized pickguard and I upgraded to a mastery bridge. I may get a mastery trem at some point. I own 2 other jazzmasters (including a 61...also with a mastery). They are fantastic guitars! I looked for a mint green pickguard but couldn't determine which one would fit the guitar. The mastery did change the tone on the blue flower. It rings out like a bell! Every string just chimes. your guitar looks and sounds great!

I bought a 1990 Fender JAM for all the same reasons you did. I was just starting and could see spending hundreds on crap. As you point out it's a real Fender Made in the USA. Early solid state was not as fancy as today but it has great tone, lots of flexibility and a spring reverb. I truly enjoy it. I did add a Tube Fender Champ 2X Head unit with is fully digital modeling and he plays right thru the JAM perfectly. Enjoy boys, your Dad did you right.

Great pedal... but you're selling it. You might regret that... it's probably the best compact bang for buck delay pedal you can buy bar none. Beats the pants off much more expensive current pedals. Sounds fantastic, the Tape emulation is considered one of the best ever, better than Line6's own DL4 and most other high profile offerings. I have 2. Thankfully, neither has crapped out on me. But for $100 2nd hand... I'll always buy another spare just in case.
