I've called it "fakedepth" in my endless wisdom due to thinking that using 3D sprites to simulate depth extracts isn't how it's "really" done. Although I have no idea how the original graphics calculations for these work in the first place. I may need to do some research on that before making claims like that. Dude this has been PISSING ME OFF for so damn long, when I load the save, the ghost is there right? I spawn the save. As the animation plays, the fucking ghost still remains just standing at the first keyframe, Ive tried everything and this shit is PISSING ME OFF so badly. Great mod tho
the ghost from spawning feature? close smh's spawn window and that one should go away, unless you did gmod save with some of those next/prev frame ghosts, these get saved as ragdolls so you'd have to remove them manually iirc, would have to fix that next time.
apparently there are still some maps that may continue to crash sfm even after removing repack, from what i can see only way to make those work is to decompile them, and compile with some mapping tools that SFM would support (probably could just use SFM's own hammer for that)
Everything works correctly, but when i try and move my model, it doesn’t work and just stays still. Any tips?
do you move it with positioning arrows while held by a "root" bone, or pelvis?

how do you do all this cool stuff! this animating is wonderful! how did you even do the spawn effects and the toolguns?
i've been using some tricks that people usually do with soft lamps where they render each lamp separately in darkness, so for toolgun effect it's same principle - i've turned off the lights on the map and recorded the particle, and then overlaid it with "screen" layer in blender's "video editor". for spawn effects, kind of the same except i've rendered 2 same scenes where the spawned prop has its "spawning" material and 2nd scene with its normal material, then i did some animated masks through blender again. so these parts are mostly video editing magic, though i think some of those tricks could be done through just lua too, except the soft shadows that won't tank performance

how do i make a ragdol stretch, like make its arm extend. I cant find any addons that do this and I've seen people do it with this but I just can't do it.
you'll need ragdoll stretch and ragdoll weight addons, dunno if youtube will blackhole my comments if i link them directly as it tends to do that. shouldn't be hard to find them. i've had video for ragdoll weight somewhere on my channel, iirc link to its workshop page was in its description
Maybe i oversaw the moment in the video but is there a way to get face poser settings back from a specific keyframe? Example: Happy Sad Cry When im finish and i notice i dont like the sad face, but the face poser has the cry face, can i get the settings back from keyframe or do i need to delete the keyframe and remake it fully?
i don't quite get what you did mean, you want to get poses from a specific keyframe you've already made, or the one you've just overwritten? if you've had several keyframes, you would need to put away face poser tool, you can do that by just switching to physgun or any other weapon, and then switch to the keyframe that has the face you need
@@PenolAkushari Yes a existing one! If i changed my face posing settings but need the settings from a keyframe i already have. when i switch to physgun click on keyframe and take out my toolgun again the settings are the same as before. not the one from the keyframe. D:
@@lumamarius ah, right, you then would need to right click on the map or somewhere else with faceposer, then you wouldn't need to switch the weapon. weapon switching is something people do for playback, not for adjusting stuff, i mixed it up edit: and make sure to select the ragdoll you animate with right click, left click will apply your current settings to the ragdoll rather than copy ones from the ragdoll you are selecting
what is the mod you used to animate faces on SMH? Whenever I pose faces, the ragdoll holds that face the entire animation.

yeah as of some update it's now bindable to any button, you may need to scroll down to the misc category in controls and bind it to something

personally i use blender for editing videos, though it can be rather weird and not as powerful as dedicated video editors. i've heard there's also davinci resolve thing that some people did use, but idk how that one works

@@KwabeeProductions yeah there's some stuff on youtube that does go through the whole animation process that also talks about editing stuff together rather than just usage of 1 specific tool. for recording stuff, you could either record playback of smh with video recorders or use screenshots through smh_makejpeg or whatever. playback in current version could drop fps, especially with weaker systems and with larger scenes/more stuff being animated/more lights/smooth playback enabled/always freeze being turned off. i did want to look into optimizing all that stuff but irl stuff and procrastination keeps kicking my ass

I was about to say how do you make the playback play the whole animation but I realized you're not supposed to press you're supposed to hold it sorry I'm a little slow
yeah people generally have some issues with it, so probably in the future there could be more options for these things like toggles and whatnot
