Around the World in Nine Icons
Переглядів 823 роки тому
This was an assignment for a multimedia course in university, in which we were expected to create nine original icons that emitted a sound and animated upon interaction. Biased towards my love for contrasting colours and vaporwave themes, I created "Around the World in Nine Icons".

A Brief Explanation of Bruno Latour's Actor Network Theory
Переглядів 48 тис.3 роки тому
This was an assignment for a multimedia course I did in university - to understand and explain Bruno Latour's Actor Network Theory (ANT). I used Unity3D to create the environments and used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the video. Kindly wear headphones to enjoy the 8D audio :)
scary animation, good explanation.
You can find more information about the game here: v3.globalgamejam.org/2023/games/crops-rabbits-0
this was really simple to understand, thank you!
this is the best explanation i have ever received thank you Adtit
We have to take ANT seriously. The relationships in what we know as the Universe are highly interconnected and interdependent. Think about how life on Earth is partly possible due to the Sun which is millions of kilometers away. We humans have to humble ourselves!
'Everything is nothing but a host of atoms'
Why this terrifying music?
Aditi, I absolutely loved the video; the comprehensiveness, the visuals and the music. Hoping to see more explanatory videos from you. Best wishes!
What an excellent resource! Great explanations, and visually and auditorily stunning!
thank for thiss
The thing is that Latour's ftamework is still centered on how things are *for humans*. He will only consider animals as actants in networks whose parameters are dictated by humans, but won't consider networks considered from the points of view of the animals themselves. He hides the subject-object duality but still adopts a point of view that's arbitrary.
Amazing work!! Loved it!! Thank you so much!
Excellent 👍
This is really cool. Good job!
Good Lord, Aditi and team!! This was by far the best explanation of the beautiful ANT. I am a master's student studying HCI at UW, Seattle. I am immensely thankful to you and your entire team. As a reviewer, you video has excellent use of 3D visuals to explain the concept, the music builds up the mysterious vibe, the voice of the narrator - the pauses and the voice modulation are aligning with the whole vibe of this creation. Latour's theory has been done full justice by this masterpiece that you all have created. Please accept my regards. This made my day!
There is no team, it's just me haha. Your comment made my day, thank you!
Does a birthday cake have consciousness?
Wonderfully illustrated. Anticipating for more. 🤝 Thank you

Nicely done.

This is great! thanks
This reminds me of several concepts from buddhist philosophy: interdependent origination, shunyata, annatta, and indras net.
¡Excelente! Thank you so much :)
Really good work!
This was such a fascinating watch! Amazing!! 👌

Great and beautiful 😍
Someone's into quantum theory and/or psychedelics :)
Haha not really, if it weren't for my academic courses and assignments I wouldn't have delved into this >.< But a really interesting concept, got me thinking about a lot of things!
Thanks for your video! It's so beautiful
Fantastic! I'd love to see a sequel or an extended version of this.
This was for an academic assignment, I haven't really thought about making a sequel ever since I finished the course >.< But I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, thank you for watching and your kind comments!
this is excellent! thanks so much!
this explanation is so clear and understandable as well as theoretical. thank you!!
The background music is spooky
I wouldn't want to hear this in the middle of the night either xD
Helpful! thank you.
Thank you for this easily understandable and beautiful video!
True and relevant for our age!
Very nice explained
Thank you! This was really cool and helpful :D
This is very brilliant..you simplified the theory for easier understanding
What I don't understand is: what distinguishes actor network theory from Deleuzian rhizomes?
Assemblages, networks and rhizomes all somewhat refer to similar things but are used in different contexts and have different origins. A network refers to nodes and their one or two-directional interconnections, nothing more. A rhizome is a type of network that can grow in any direction from any node, that doesn't have a central point and that should not be thought of as one "unity" but instead a collection of various things that have interconnected together. Assemblage is a concept referring to a network of various interconnected objects including humans and non-humans and the meanings that these interactions produce. Assemblages are often considered to be rhizomatic. Actor-network theory and assemblage-thinking have a lot in common but actor-network theory also often comes bundled with some theoretical concepts that assemblages do not, for example "actants" or "translation".
hahaha te presentation is sickkk thank you!!
Very helpful…my exams are coming up and I was discouraged but this helped me…
Glad to hear, good luck for your exam!
Wonderfully done.
This was so well composed and explained! Thanks for a brilliant demonstration of ANT:)
