I am revisiting this site after 4 years, and want to say again: Please remove the music from the background. Whose stupid idea was it anyway? Besides that, I want to add my admiration for JV who I think is a great human being. He has the right vision for the future of wildlife in Africa. He should be honored with rewards and recognition for his mission and his vision. Yes, remove the sheep, the goats, the cattle. Let people migrate to cities, or teach them new ways of animal husbandry, so that cattle and farm animals never get out of pens and sheds., and the migration routes of animals are opened back unhindered for wildlife to continue as it had done for millenia before hunting and tourism got the better of it all.

It's good for the tigers,if their population can increase.Suppose lions are later on released there,after years,a tiger would hear a lion roaring and wonder,"That's a roar,but the roar is so loud,it can't be a tiger,I should keep my distance from that roar"😂,the lion on the other hand may hear a tiger roaring and be like,"I thought I heard a roar,but it sounds like it ain't another lion's roar,it's a bit coarse,let me check it out"😂😂then the 2 big cats 🐯🦁meet🔥⚡🙆🏾‍♂️

Tigers are territorial and lonely but here they seem to be living in groups I think they are tamed and fed.

Great thing to do, to help re-establish a disappearing animal from its own habitat , give it a new habitat a new life , and most importantly in the wild. As free creatures, love it congratulations John Varty, you are a dedicated man, thankyou.

These Tigers are not genetically pure. Their disproportionate structure is a proof that they cant hunt in the wild and will only contaminate the pure wild Tiger species if they are released in Jungles of Asia causing ultimate destruction of entire species. So this project has no value.

I grew up on this farm Paaiskloof and the grasslands of St.Elmo. When they expropriated the slopes of the canyons of Paaiskloof and the neighbouring farm, plus the small portion that was left of the third farm, I think it wasn’t even 3.000 hectare. They made separate camps for competing tiger “kings”, I doubt if there is enough space for them to be in the wild. Even when they are born in Tiger Canyons. To put it is perspective, the surface area of the second largest “lake” in South Africa that was created by the Vanderkloof Dam, is only 133.402 km2 (51.507 sq mi) and a total capacity of 3,236 million cubic metres (114.3×109 cu ft). We call it a reservoir and not a lake. Although the tiger is by far the most beautiful animal for me and Tiger Canyons is unfortunately all about just the tigers. Paaiskloof and Uithou (meaning endurance) has some of the most beautiful canyons. There is even a small valley between the two farms with the name “Tiger Valley”. There was a fountain that according to our investigation was in 1974 for more than 260 years never dry. The main canyons where their lodge is build, has belong in the bygone years to a Griekwa captain “Paai”. The main canyon was therefor called “Paai se kloof”. Thence the name ‘Paaiskloof”. (Eng: “Paai se kloof” = Paai’s ravine). Why is this not included in a safari? The extreme high safari prices makes it inaccessible for the South African’s and even one that grew up there.
