Mark Kleinhaut playing jazz guitar, mostly solo, but in collaborations/groups too. During the pandemic lockdowns, I started using green screens for remote virtual collaboration with a goal of creating performances that look and feel like the live event. This lead to experiments with visualization programs that convert sound files into light shows, and used Davinci Resolve video editing software to put it all together.
The guitars I play are built by Tom Ribbecke and Marc Beneteau, both acclaimed master luthiers. I also like amplification by Raezers Edge, a small shop based in Milwaukee. Things like Gibson and Fender are great, but using some of the rare equipment out there can help develop a unique sound.

Great little band. Joel shines, of course. But I wish Adam played with more confidence. He doesn't need to change a note, just push it out with a bit more happy bravado. It would make him, truly. And Mark Kleinhaut smiles! Don't see a lot of that :-)

Thanks so much. I combine three signals; the mike near the body of the guitar, a mike on my amp and then a direct out from the amp. I add reverb using a great program called Altaverb- best room simulation in the market.

Thanks man! Due to your comment I actually listened to this for the first time in the months since I posted it. I rarely ever go back and revisit any of these. This piece, like everything else I post here is a spontaneous improvisation whether it be a tune like this or one of the many freeform things I play. Nothing is ever written down or preplanned. Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, along with a large number of players have influenced me. Keith Jarrett too. There’s so much music out there, so hard to pin down. Over time, you become your own biggest influence as you continue to develop and refine your approach.

Lovely, abstract, contemplative interpretation. Lots of mood, atmosphere and impressionism. Brings back memories of high school stage band where we did an arrangement of it. The director knew I was a rock guy with only power chords, pentatonic scales, a few Led Zeppelin riffs, etc. but said that if I learned "jazz" chords and how to read, I was in. I worked hard and got in and also went on to Berklee because of him pushing me. Thanks, Mr. Berry!
