As much as the Cliff changes broke my heart for who he was I'm not completely mad at Larry's changes. Considering Carlito's conversation afterwards talks about zombies, meat and Americans it only make sense for Larry to be giant, hulking and meat-loving white guy.

"Vietcong" gives much needed context to Cliff's character background. I feel like removing it takes away a large chunk of what was there.

Honestly he’s still somewhat scary to me, but not nearly as scary as original Larry. The room and Larry’s clothing being cleaner in DRDR also makes it less scary.
