It looks like that beautiful poor palm frond is trying to get out of that awful trash truck in the corner at 1:21,poor baby and then a second dump on top of that one with another pretty one at 2:17 in the center and then compacted again. This is so sad and cruel.

why is all this yard plant material ending up here , some of those palm frons are so pretty. I wanted to rescue some of them from that truck and compacting them. so sad

Most stupid ass design I’ve ever seen for a garbage truck. Those things are all over by me near Chicago where it’s windy all the time and more trash goes all over the ground than in the truck. Wish cops stood right there and issued citations for littering every time this happened because these damn trucks are the WORST contributors to litter along Chicago area roadways!

I'm from Australia. I do wonder why they don't use a retractable lid to make the compaction a little more efficient, rather than having rubbish get into the space behind the packing blade?

The garbage trucks in my neighborhood are front loaders, pick up the dumpsters of trash and recyclables (separate trucks) I can see the top of the truck from my apt windows, however never seen the compactor ram cycle. Yrs ago where I grew up there was a weekly service Handy Can picked up yard waste, wood, discarded materials, and such.
