We are all really excited to see progress with this project, and can't wait to see some of it in action!! But this particular revision brings up a few serious concerns. It does not seem right to continue calling this project the "Park District" with almost all of the "green" aspects discussed in charettes and meetings gone. Valley Court Park is completely removed from the context of this plan, and the streetscape does not look comfortable for pedestrians. There are no buffers separating pedestrians from the street, and several of the walks are narrow and heavily shaded by buildings- this looks like a very unsafe, unwelcoming place to walk. Also, this plan does not look like it can accommodate separate bike-lanes. In an area so heavily populated with young active people, we're disappointed that this plan is not more progressive. This entire plan looks like a contractor designed it with no regard to City Planners or Landscape Architects. This is just trying to get the biggest bang for the buck and will likely not be a successful, sustainable design. Sincerely, a group of Landscape Architecture Students

This was an informative report, especially with its comparison to the Washington, D.C., bookstore closures, still, it is a sad day when another Barnes & Noble closes its doors, as many have done in Manhattan recently. I think state and federal governments should consider funding bookstores as a cultural resource. They provide a valuable browsing and shopping experience that is not duplicated by online outlets.

Enough of the trite, statist propaganda. This is what happens when you violate the citizenry's inalienable, God-given rights and work for a tyrannical Police State. As the U.S. continues to rape the Constitution written by our forebears, you can expect to see more results like this.
