Just a regular Ol' rideshare driver showing other drivers or potential drivers what the market is like in Los Angeles.
How I Made $300 Driving For Uber In Los Angeles In Under 9 Hours!
This day (09/23/2023) I drove just under 9 hours on only Uber. As always I'm driving to Los Angeles and back from Riverside. Usually there is about 100 dead miles but this day I got rides into and out of LA.
Total: $300.15
Miles: 238.9
Time: 8h 42m (online), 5h 4m (active)
No Boost+, No Quest, just straight picking.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments!
I'm doing my best and getting better at keeping my miles low.
As for hourly rate, $33.33/hr on this day but I try to strive for higher of course.
Soon I'll work on showing how to make money on quests and goals.

How much money I made driving for Uber in Los Angeles on 06/12/ 23 in about 8-10 hours.
Переглядів 2,4 тис.10 місяців тому
A quick recap of how much money I made driving for Uber in Los Angeles. Im working about 8-10 hours, avg about 200 miles. Unfortunately my situation requires me to dead mile to the closer market; Los Angeles. so i put in about 100 dead miles. I drive a Tesla M3 SR . Daily expenses are just charging. between $8-$16.
Can i know how many miles did you consume you make on $300
Its in the video, im pretty sure i mention it at the end somewhere. Its more likely under 300 miles
you’re driving too much bro just pull over and wait for a ride you wanna drive as little as possible
Although i agree, the reality has never been that for me. I live in an area that is dead a majority of the time. If i want to make consistant earnings i need to drive to areas that have demand. But once i get to those areas, I pull over and cherry pick my rides. Ive done the whole, wait for a ride to leave my house and wasted half a day for 0 pings.
This video is less of a "how-to" and more of a "look at me" showcase. The driver cherry-picks a few high-paying rides, conveniently skips over the waiting times and low-paying trips, and focuses on anecdotes where tips boosted his earnings. While taking airport rides for the potential rematch and focusing on surge areas are valid strategies, the video paints an unrealistic picture of consistent earnings. The reality is, rideshare income is highly variable and depends on factors like time of day, location, and luck. He doesn't teach you how to evaluate rides based on mileage and time, or how to strategically position yourself to maximize earnings. Don't fall for the hype - rideshare driving requires patience, strategy, and realistic expectations, not just chasing surges and hoping for tips.
I agree with what ur saying. Its not titled "how to make" its titled "how I made" There is no perfect instructional video. Rideshare is luck. You have to make decisions on the spot. Cherry picking is literally the name of the game. I also disagree that its unrealistic. Its 100% realistic as i literally filmed it lol. Consistancy depends on you as the driver. Can i make $300 daily? Yes. Will you? Depends on you. This isnt a teaching video lol this is an observe video. I tell everyone. Patience planning & positioning. I dont chase surges, i position myself in areas that are hot. I dont work for tips but when they arrive they help. Im not trying to compete with you.
Drivers need to put $200 of every $1000 they make to cover taxes at the end of the year as well as any unexpected car issues. Anything left at the end of the year you can keep and start over the next year.
I only take rides that average $30 per hour or more on rides under 1 hour..over an hour I look for $40 per hour. simple at that
As long as youre not doing $40 for 40 miles or less you should be solid
@@HenryDriverLA It does seem like that on the surface but remember rideshare drivers get $0.67 per mile tax deduction. So a full time driver grossing $80k a year driving 80k miles at $1 a mile goes to a 12% tax on $26,500 net income which equals $3k in taxes you will have to pay VS grossing $80k a year driving 20k miles at $4 a mile goes to a 22% tax on $66,600 net income which equals $15k in taxes you will have to pay I'm going to be making a video in depth on this soon but basically $1 a mile could pay as low as $3k in taxes and $4 a mile for the same $80k gross could pay as much as $15k in taxes. $12k more in taxes just to drive less miles. Yes you will have extra fuel cost, tires, oil changes etc driving more miles but still end up paying around $8k-$10k more in taxes each year depending if you drive full gas, hybrid or electric. if we have major repairs every 200k - 300k miles then that would be every 3-4 years and we would have $25k to $30k to pay for those repairs such as engine rebuild, tranny rebuild, etc and still have $$$ left over....we don't need to replace the car every time, we just fix the issues that arise just like the trucking industry Driving more $$$ per mile does not necessarily give you more time to do other things as you will find yourself sitting in the car longer cherry picking to wait for those rides to come through Now we car also say what if we put that $9k tax savings in the stock market each year on Amazon, Google, Nvidia, Vanguard, JPMorgan, etc what we could have. Uber has all this shit figured out to the penny😫
@@UberDriverChat if i understand u correctly, ur saying driving more miles saves me money? Id love to see a breakdown video on this. As of now, I disagree. On saving my money for taxes. Of course id love not to pay taxes but if im profitable i wouldnt mind.
@@HenryDriverLA yes. you are saving money by driving more miles. The question is .... "are the repairs/maintenance cost for driving more miles going to me more than the savings you get for driving more" Video coming soon so stay tuned. Be safe out there.
@@UberDriverChat i still dont see it brother, ill stay tuned!
If you need a car to rent for Uber get at me
Thats damn good brother, $300 day is always a win .
Damn $300 for 8-9 hrs is hella good
You run your map too fast...lol
Lol its a 9hr day sped up into like 10 minites... i dont think people wanna watch a 9 hr video lol.
Bro keep the video rolling good channel
Thanks, will do!
Great content, how do you make or record this kind of video? Do you use any app
Screen record on my phone
Update video coming soon. It seems rematch isnt a thing anymore unless ur a diamond driver.
We should making 650 not 300, today 2-12-2024 i pick up passenger from Lax to West Hollywood about 11 miles my base fair is 28 bucks , how much azz hole charge passenger 116 fucking dollars😢😢😢 we are slave and i make 300 dollars too but really cheap labor! 2-14 its go times, need to show our balls my brothers.
@tomtang I dont disagree. But also u have to stop accepting trips that dont make sense to you. I picked up pax from LAX to koreatown last week (14 miles) and i got paid $42. They charged pax $69. Fight back daily brother.
You think someone deserves $650 a day working 9 hours for Uber like this guy did in this video?
Its a tough question to answer. I wanna say yes $650 is great but also... if everyone made $650 in 9 hrs... people would be quitting their job to uber, right? Lol
@@HenryDriverLA no shit😂
@@UberDriverChat maybe thats whats happening. More people are watchong videos like mine and thinking, its so easy, and then flood the market.
Don't forget with Kroger if you have the Kroger Rewards MasterCard usually in the first year of having the credit card you can save an additional 55¢ a gallon off everytime you redeem atleast 100 fuel points and to get the extra savings in year 2 you have to spend $6,000 to get 25¢ a gallon off everytime you redeem atleast 100 fuel points on top of the 10¢ savings for every 100 fuel points you do redeem
ive mentioned before using a credit card either store or fuel branded could save u even more. Thanks for that though. Great information for an update video!
How do you get Comfort as an option? I have a Tesla as well.
I believe u have to give about 100 trips... then maintain a certain rating.
And in another 2 years there will be nothing left of your car.
Been driving my car for 3 years (not just for uber) ... about to hit 100k and i still think it looks new and i get compliments and questions about how to maintain it.
Uber pays an average of 1 dollar per mile. If you want to earn 200-300 dollars, then you have to drive 300 miles per day, and per week that’s 2,000 miles. And in a year, you do the math, the average normal car engine will last, I don’t know, 250 or 300,000. And for replacement.
You drove on average per month, 2,800 mail - this is very little for working as a taxi. 90 miles per day, which means you just didn’t work
Thats 100% wrong. I tried diffrent scenarios this week. On thursday i made $100 in 50 miles. And today i made $100 in 30 miles.
2800 per month? Are we counting dead miles or no dead miles?
One thing I know for sure is that Uber or Lift and other platforms take people for fools and this is called worker trafficking. There is no such money there. Not regularly.
You gotta make wise decisions about the rides u take. I do agree uber/lyft use tactics to get u to accept lower paying offers to places with no demand. But there is a way to win. The major issue is consistency. 1 day you'll make $400 easily and tomorrow youll make $150.
Fkn monster bro
Watching it again 🎉🎉🎉 great info 🎉🎉🎉
This is a great video and probably one of the best videos. I've seen on youtube about driving uber. I have to say thank you to henry one more time.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ur making me wanna rewatch it

Hey Ahmed I also like ur channel and addicted to it, keep up the good work
Must be Ubers paid advertisement to recruit more gullible drivers, don’t trust anything posted on here
I agree that a lot of newbies, jump into Uber thinking once they sign up and turn on the app they're gonna make 30,40,60/Hr. Experienced drivers know that it doesn't work that way. You got to have a plan and be patient. stay tuned for more constant videos this year :)
@@HenryDriverLA no one ever makes such money with Uber, it is fake manufactured screenshots, no patience needed Uber is a scam just like any online scammers you’ll lose
Fake screenshots? My videos are screen recorded. U can make $300 with uber and/or lyft. Now if ur trying to do it consistantly, Its a little harder. Im not trying to scam anyone, just trying to show people how i did it.
Fake paid Uber plantation paid advertisement
I honestly wish i was paid to advertise. It would be easier than driving lol

Lol thanks ill make a shorty video soon
I AGREE
Yeah, I did that too. Now it has become very hard to make $100 in 12 hrs in Los Angeles
It honestly depends on the areas u drive. Im from Riverside and id rather dead mile to LA to make $300 than to sit and wait for lousy rides. Im curious to know what ur style of driving is? Cherry picking rides?
@@HenryDriverLA There is no cherries in Los Angeles now
@@khandkerashiquereza9442 where in LA are you driving? All i do is cherries. A little slow this month but cherries still exist bro.
@@HenryDriverLA I live in koreatown in LA.

Good on you bro ✊ I hope your also introducing yourself to what should be potential future customer. Respect the hustle ✊ state safe everyone 🫡
Im slowly learning how to transition to privates!🙌
@@HenryDriverLA it goes without saying, wait till the end to see how you feel about the customers; most of them are honestly not worth approaching sense most of their trips are local. BUT if you are working the airport area, you should be running into frequent travelers, these group are mostly chill and always appreciate reliability. I used to place a cheap phone on my center console as entertainment and I would load it up with music videos followed by personal ad videos that would promote my airport rides(in a formal way, call to action, ref to website and easy booking etc) and a QR code call to action. If you need an ice breaker, I would always use the horrible LAX-it experience of other travels to let them know they could save on the airport fee if they order their ride from OUTSIDE the airport area. I would advise them to take any hotel shuttle and call their ride from there; and to save even more “they could book straight through my booking site”. It was a nice ice breaker, they always appreciated the savings.
@@HenryDriverLA good on you bro! Slowly but surely you will get people that appreciate the reliability of booking strait and the savings. Stay safe and best of luck ✊🫡
9 hours in Buffalo New York 40 dollar😅😅
Ouch. Theres no areas with demand? Pax told me his friend who lives in Tj, mex drives to LA every weekend and drives 36 hrs and makes money. Thats like 3 hrs to LA and 3 hrs back. It must be profotable to drive out here stay with a relative and go home after 36 hrs of driving.
Great content, and I'm glad I found your channel. I work in LA also, your insights are very helpful.
Thanks hopefully i can get back into the groove real soon and showcase some more daily driving.
Hey. I drive in la county also. When i drive for a mile or two, i only make $3--4. How r u making double?? Are the surges up???
Patience and position. Learn ur areas of demand and timing too. Better rides in the morning between 5-8a than 9a-12p. So youll catch me taking $1/min early and then $1/mile later.
Bro, I saw this video 📹 had no idea. it's your channel 😮 great video 📹 and make more and lmk if you need help
Do you have 2 channels? I just saw rideXserve?
do you get sticky surge in LA all day long on the weekends?
I normally dont drive weekends as i spend time with family those days. Its a balancing act for me
Hey bro u have a Tesla also ? Which one 😅 I have the black on black model y
I have gray 3. Looking into uber black and model x or y.

@Rain. Nice! Good luck! Get the money!
How much do you pay for your car monthly?
$500
@@HenryDriverLA That's not bad. I thought it was more expensive to own a Tesla. How much do you spend on charging and how many miles do you average weekly ?
Its been getting cheaper to own. I try to find free to cheap chargers now. My whole way of driving has changed too. I used to avg 300-400 miles. Today im doing tops like 200- 250. I need to do an update video lol As for $, i try to keep it from free to tops $10. At home im probably spending like $5
Loved the video, wish you the best. Keep it up =)
Thanks! Likewise!
It's not just you every time my car gets next to surge it disappears. Los Angeles.
Haha yeah certain surges happen ahead of demand. So they only last a few minutes. While organic surges happen when theres demand and most drivers were taken out of the area. That's why it came back.
He’s back! Thanks for the upload
More to come!
Damn, I make less than a dollar per mile on uberx in the same market. Something is wrong with my app looking at yours example downtown LA to the LAX $16 trip
On a majority of rides Uber is offering $1 or less per mile. Better than lyfts .50c. $16 trip to LAX? I took a $29 trip to LAX. Then got a $14 tip. 3:37
Good morning Thanks for posting. Is I possible to make $250 in 12 hours in los angeles? I'm a Fairly new driver. I struggle to make $150 a day.
With the right game plan, yes! I have tested many theories with other drivers and on avg we all can make $250 in under 10. I used to struggle too. And i used to over drive mileage as well. Making $150 for 250 miles. Now we close to $1/mile or over. Ill try to make more videos on this soon.
@@HenryDriverLA Thank you for responding I really appreciate it. I've tried thirteen $20 rides to achieve $260 but that didn't work out. Tomarrow I'm going to try fifteen $15 rides to see if I get at least $225 in Korea town. Let's see how its works have a great evening.
@@LXRD-SUPREME-koreatown is has one of the worst (if not the worst) traffic in LA. Unnecessarily plagued with stop lights at every corner causing huge congestion. Dont drive there during the day
@@stevegonzalez9871 Yeah and it was slow. I'm starting to really belive there isn't any money driving for uber. Especially when you have to pay $346 weekly in hertz rental fees.

I have a Tesla Model 3 am i able to do uber lux or black?
You can do uber black just make sure theyre accepting new black drivers. LUX is only on the Model S
