Just ordinary Arnold Light, then you can choose type of light when you create one. For AO, when you create obr material, you just add AO node into Ambient Occlusion slot.

Select face - hold Shift and drag with mouse left click

Create arnold light and for light type choose mesh, and select object you want to glow. Then change light color, and also change object emissive in material settings

@@3com it is 2022 version. I can export you in 2020, but I dont know if its going to work for you. You will also going to need Premiere pro or something similar for assembling render and footage, but if you need scene because of the TyFlow setup, then you can use it. Camera tracking was done in Boujou.

You can use any camera you want, I just dont need camera options for this stylized settings. Camera is more for realistic settings, motion blur, depth of fieldd etc

@@polygonmonkey Thanks. Great demo, btw. FWIW, I did find out how to do this with a camera. I think that didn't work for a Physical Camera but does for a Standard one. Here is a video showing how to set it up. I can thnk of a few benefits to having a camera rather than a Ortho viewport. It is easier to have a consistent setup for multiple scenes in addition to any camera settings that one might need. @@EbolaStew I can do this with camera, I just dont need it🙂. I use camera when I need camera animation, and when I need exactly same position, for example when I send client work in progres, and they approve it, I need same angle.

select faces you want to flatten, and then in edit geometry click on Z. Faces will flatten in Z axis

I am a noob trying to replicate samurai siege style renders but suck at modelling and setting up lighting with arnold. It would be handy if there was a vid showing how you would personally create that sort of render showing your workflow.

Which max version are you using. In 2022 those hdri maps comes standard. I am also using Arnold

I'm using the 2020 version, and I guess they made it available later for Arnold. :/
