Headstones aren't cheap so if they've got a fancy one from the early 1800s that money came from somewhere!

I'm open to any recommendations! It's rare I'm stopping in any of the cities up I-85. I'm thinkin' Marietta, Roswell, or Alpharetta next, but that traffic puts the fear of god in me. I also gotta do another library run and study some of the county cemetery books in the reference room.

Yeah, I-85 is crazy, LOL. I think you mentioned Westview in a prior video. That would be neat. Southview would also be a good visit if looking for famous graves. The Hollywood cemetery story (northeast Atlanta) would be interesting based on it's original design and expectations. It's sort of a sketchy area though.

Hughes Cemetery is especially peaceful! Always a beautiful place to visit. Hope your Christmas is as well!

The Covington and (probably) Athens, GA library have a copy you can read but not check out. Amazon currently has a copy for sale. Just google “Oconee Hill Cemetery Volume 1” to find it. I always take the dust cover off my hardcover books so the photos may look a lil different. ISBN-10: 0972530215

Just Père Lachaise Cemetery in France. At that time, I was *just* sorta getting in to them, and I'd say that cemetery also led me to fall in love with them. There were cats in there just floating around that let you pick 'em up and pet them! That said, next time I'm in London, I'm going directly to Highgate Cemetery from the airport!!!

There’s a cemetery a stones throw from the one I did in my very first video on this channel, and there’s an *enormous* cedar there. I wish I had visited it for that. Cedars are very common in cemeteries around here! Very powerful & energetic trees IMO.

I'm always interested in new cemeteries to check out! I've found the cemetery you mentioned. It's just a matter of researching some of the burials, and making content out of it! I will say though, I rarely frequent that part of Gwinnett. It's a hell of a drive from where I am traffic-wise lol. I'd love to do some Gwinnett Co. cemeteries, and ultimately I may start doing 2-3 cemeteries in one video so that I can make content with some of these smaller cemeteries!

@@quietparks i found my 4th great grandfather Joel Graham was a POW he was captured in Macon. I wish I had learned that while I lived there. I know a lot of the older cemeteries are forgetten. One in old hog mtn tho I think there's a mechanics shop there now. I remember the drive from Macon to atl oof the traffic up there is terrible. I've also found I had a relative that was a POW in Andersonville and died there. I didn't realize when I moved to Macon in 1939 that I had so much southern history most of which fought for the union. On my husband's side (Ramey) his roots go very deep for the CSA many being injured or killed during battles. I found many hidden secrets in the family doing this research. Thanks for responding

Check out the Georgia Archives in Morrow. They've got a wall of filing cabinets where people who have gone there to do genealogical research can store what they discover, and sort it by last name. I was able to flip through folders and folders of research done by someone in my lineage. So, if you've got a couple last names in mind, go check those filing cabinets, and see whether some ancestors have already done a bunch of leg work for you!

@@quietparks I've been doing the research by hand so to speak since about 1994. Before computers started making the connections for us 😂 I have been to the libraries on Jones, Bibb, Baldwin and that's how I found the secrets in the family. Like some of mine were called malloto which in those days meant anyone not white such as native Americans or evert the first recorded slave Mr Punch/Bunch is one of my gggg grandpa (yes Obama is a 10th cousin 4xs removed to me thru the Dunham line) it goes back my great grandmother was Choctaw she to says malloto. Sorry didn't mean to go there. I lived in the deep south for nearly 20 yrs and even in the early 90's my dating anyone not my own skin color was frowned on and often kept hidden my own niece was disowned for this very thing.

@@quietparks I love ANYTHING to do with old cemeteries, monuments, crypts, etc. A cemetery 2 blocks from my apartment complex has a Revolutionary War burial. Several family plots with iron fences here as well.

@@quietparks Thank you! The brindle dog in my photo is Jed, he is a Black Mouth Mountain Cur. The dog in the movie Old Yeller was a BMMC also, Jed may only be knee high but he weighs a muscular 60 pounds! I'm taking today to watch all your videos, and the notification bell is on 😄
