The Mr. Big (Sheehan et al.) was recorded live in the studio, absolutely no click tracks used. This was a talking point at the time of release of the album. You can hear Pat Torpey throw his sticks down at the end of the track. Nothing polished about it to my ears - they hit record and played it completely live-all together.

In my opinion, great bands often do record live… I have no issue with overdubs, to ad parts, harmonies, etc…, but laying down the foundation adds an organic feel. Sadly, these days, so many songs are piecemealed together, that they really don’t have much soul, within.

🤣 I used to own one of his signature model Guitars. It was amazing instrument, but I never could quite figure out how I would use his switching configuration. Of course, all these years later, I have a few guitars that have even more switching patterns, that probably wouldn’t work for him. So, maybe I’m a little hypocritical on that. Of course, just because you love a guitar player, does not mean you’re going to like their guitar. I’ve run into that a few times, in my career.

I get now why the very late 80s like this and early to mid 90s were so great now finally. In the bay area whether it was Primus or Faith No More and people were creating original music and with a lot of thought. I noodled for decades but these players were really thinking about what they played and what tones they wanted. Incredibly smart players like the brothers from STP. Too bad im getting that now and now im going back to these players and learning a lot.

He reminds me of Ginger Baker they both had all kinds of power to go along with boatloads of talent , and check Artemis out some time in a video check out his left hand underhand grip almost nobody does that anymore but it gives him an almost slap like beat sound to his playing or at least that's what it sounds like to me . And it kinda hurts me to talk about Allen cause in some ways he almost seemed cursed with a tractor & trailer jack knifed on every road he tried to go down . So I'll just say this Allen Collins was in the very last room of the guitar players hall of fame !!!!!!! My god how good would he shoot would they have been with no damned plane crash😢 I think their wasn't enough members in the band ( not enough birthdays ) so for LYNYRD SKYNYRD I think you should also count family members close friends , roadies and groupies 😂😂😂🎉PARTY ON GARTH

He is a really nice person, as well. I’ve had the privilege of meeting him twice, at work. Always been a gentleman.
