For me, the difference of Kona to others is the smoothness down my throat as non-Kona tend to be scratchy to my throat. In the past before Kona's popularity, it was used as a blend to smooth out other coffees. Another cost is that Kona coffee are grown by small farmers.
I agree wholeheartedly, just a bit too expensive for my tastes.
I had no idea they were a manufacturing nation. Learning as always.
Learning daily.
And they do some fantastic coffee from there as well.

Brilliant video Adam
Thanks Kirsty!
Great video brother, Thanks!
Thanks for the Super thing, and thanks for watching!
Not tried it yet but i will do ASAP
Get involved...
You don't get many chandeliers in Starbucks. Another great vid Adam.
Yep, I always wondered what was missing.
Soon to be roaster
Good to hear!
Thank you for the video
You're welcome!
This coffee is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Even the instant one is delicious.
Always good to find something you really like.
It’s more hype than reality, it’s never been rated among the best globally except by the JA producers. Japan was the biggest buyer when they were neophytes coffee aficionados and now that they are more educated about quality coffees, they don’t order it or tout it like before, telling I’ve had many coffees from the Caribbean region and it’s Santo Domingo coffee hands down
I'm going to be looking at other Caribbean coffees. I sort of said the same thing in my Kona video, sometimes it's more hype than substance.
You know it must be pretty special when it has its own celebration day.
Agreed, I need a Charcoal Coffee day.
Great information and video ❤, l can only afford to buy a bag every 2 months but it's worth every penny 🎉Thank you
It is an interesting coffee to be sure.
best bourbon beans come from El Salvador ... AMAZING !
Indeed. Thanks for watching.
thanks Artificial Intelligence.
Thanks for watching
Thank you Adam for highlighting this terrible issue that needs knowing worldwide. It's great to know that there are other options for those choosing this type of coffee.
Indeed. And I toned it down for UA-cam also.
@charcoalcoffeecompany jeepers, that frightens me.
Thank you Sir, great information and video hope people learn from this 👍
Indeed, we can only hope.
Currently Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan called Nano Lot 95+ coffee (almost all of them are Panama Gesha) Fine Specialty Coffee, including the terms 4th Wave Coffee because they served it under private Omakase course and by having WBC champions to brew the said coffee. One cafe in China have private Omakase with Boram Um (WBC 2023) as the brewer and sold 1 cup of filtered and espresso set of Elida Gesha for $933
It's truly amazing the prices some of these beans go for.
@@charcoalcoffeecompany bonkers, aside from likes of Panama Gesha, exotic 90+ beans like Aji, Pink Bourbon, Eugenioides, Sidra, Catuai, Catimor, Heirloom also being used in omakase
👉🌱💯♥️🇵🇭

Amazing Video my friend, the theme, the images, the music, everything. Question, were did you get that music from 3:19 ? Thank you for the help! :)
I made it myself using a popular AI generator. It's a good way to avoid copyright issues. Thanks for watching, happy you enjoyed it.
Is it possible you could tell me the name of the AI Generator? I want to create some music for my tech company to also avoid copyright issues. Thank you for the help! 😄
Suno
Always interesting and always learning.
That's the plan...
Another top quality vid mate
I'll keep making them, if you keep watching them.
Very detailed Adam, nice one boss👍🏽need to stop watching your videos before I need to sleep, just want coffee now😂
Watch the decaf video then get yourself something nice, happy coffee days.
❤️❤️
Legend!
Top rate video Adam 👌
Thank you Jacq
More lessons learned here. Great vid, Adam.
I am ever grateful.
Great information and video, i needed this Thank you Sir 🎉
More than welcome.
Great video I enjoyed every second. Please keep going. This is something like coffee encyclopedia for cofee lovers.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
I think one of the shortcomings with the current trend of specialty coffee is that while pour over methods and coffee selection/roasting/brewing is the best it has ever been, I think espresso has regressed. Most espresso at cafes now is very thin and sour. I think there is still a place for lusher, simpler dark roast espresso that tastes and feels like how fresh ground coffee beans smell. It’s sort of like when craft beer brewing overlooked and neglected the art of making really great lagers when everything was IPA this and double stout that.
I couldn't agree more. Espresso has really gone downhill in a lot of cafes. Luckily I have an Italian place near me that still does it the way it should be done.
because light, light-medium, medium roasted coffee need a expensive machine or very modded machine to brew, not to mentioned, grinders, here in Indonesia most of the high end specialty coffee uses VA Maverick, Strada Leva, Strada X, Slayer or KvDW with Idromatic or Idrocompresso (which are all a nightmare when it comes to spare parts and costs), and they pretty much need a high wages barista to brew the shot (usually competition level barista to brew correct shot profile). its very high investment for really fine specialty espresso, while filter doesn't need that kind of investment to brew a nice lightly roasted coffee. most large branch 3rd wave cafe already became a said "5th wave" coffee for the thin espresso quality most of the nice Espresso we got is from Omakase courses which our community dubbed "4th Wave Cofffee", limited seats, limited sets of beans
This third wave, and growth of speciality coffee is definitely becoming more like wine in it's making and tasting, bringing it into a new culture of it's own
Aye, Coffee, wine & cheese.
Another top quality video, Adam. Loved it.
Legend!
Actually most Indonesian todays are grewing up with robusta coffee. Like Vietnam, They prefer bitter, bold body and low acid. Which is why kopi tubruk started gaining popularity
Good to know if I ever do an update, ty!
highly informative ! bravo .
Happy you liked it!
Lost me at Ara-BEE-ka. Just, damn.
I'm sorry my friend, sometimes the technology fails us.
Yes more coffee please 👍🏼
There's never enough!
I want coffee bushes that can grow in the heat, but I doubt they can deal with the winter in Virginia. I used to live in Costa Rica and they grow a lot of coffee in the mountains. If they could grow it at lower elevations a lot more people could grow coffee for export. I'd love to move back and farm coffee.
Now that would be a dream indeed, especially farming some of the lesser known species.
@@charcoalcoffeecompany you buy the land in Costa Rica and I will be happy to go farm it for you. I'm not kidding.
Just another colonizing from gog-magog
Well indeed
As you take us around the world of coffee, i never imagined Rwanda would appear on the list.
Ahhh, we haven't even gotten halfway through the list yet!
Let's hope it gets the support it needs to help develop the bean into a world market.
I'm sure as issues ramp up it will become a more pressing issue.
Life will always find a way. Coffee beans being no exception. Great stuff
I completely agree!
Great information hope it works on a large scale
Interesting times ahead!
kopi tubruk, most people like it just black, without sugar, some need sugar in it. and it's not instant, so you will discover the coffee residue in the liquid. if you do not like the residue, just like me, let it stand for awhile and do not stir it, the residue will come down to the bottom. we do have instant coffee, only 2 brands: one international brand and one local brand. that's for pure black coffee. we do have a lot of variety of mix (blend) coffee in sachet that most of ingredient is sugar. and do not even look for decaffeinated coffee, because it doesn't 'exist' here in indonesia 😁
Wow, good to know, thank you for sharing!
Fantastic video as always, Adam.
Glad you like them!
@charcoalcoffeecompany there's such a recognisable vibe to them. You've definitely found your own style. Really suits you
Great and informative video Thank you ❤
Thanks for watching my friend.
Great vid. There's always more to things than we ever know. I feel guilty for ever drinking instant, knowing how much effort goes into making the real stuff.
Yep, no excuse now!
It's a simple logic. you can sell anything if u know how to do it. Even as silly a selling tap water in fancy packaging.
Couldn't agree more.
The introduction of method's used in wine manufacturing doesn't suprise me, as the more I learn about coffee and beans etc, the more it reminds me of wine making. It's mind boggling what, when, how and where beans are processed to enhance flavours. However, a question. Which of the processes costs more?
Generally carbonic maceration and also anerobic will cost more because there is more specialised equipment and labour costs.
Great information and video
Glad you liked it
Great analysis and informative Sir who ever filming your video's outstanding work
So nice of you, thank you!
