The machine was built and delivered especially to race in the 1951 Senior Clubman TT. It sports bolt through tank, bimetal head , alloy barrel , magnesium cambox and Manx cam,Manx conrod, narrower alluminium fenders...all original from the factory. The Norton Inter finished 6th with the rider Manxman mr. Jackie Wood. She is now in my enthusiast hands...it is a joy to ride.

Great engine...would love to find something from that same year....highly unlikely. You know it is an early engine when the points are on the outside of the crankcase.

That sound is pure joy!
No need for all that smoke! Just empty the excess oil from the crankcase. There's a little screw on the left hand side at the bottom of the crankcase to drain excess oil. Simple.
Hi, of course . The bike was left about a month after the engine overhouling so the few montage lubrification applicated to all mechanical engine components was fallen down in the bottom of crackcase. You can seem that at the end of the video smokey was already reducing. Bye André 1912 big twin - 1929 scout 101 - 1929 four 402

The Italian shakes with eagerness to get hot asphalt underneath and competitors next to (after) him. Had I owned it, it would have stood in the living room when I wasn't using it. This motorcycle is a work of art, which can be used as diazepam and works much better :-)
The petrol tank is a work of art on its own never mind the rest of the bike .

I think you're getting mixed up with the 6 cyl 500 which John Hartle rode at Monza in 1957. This bike is the 6 cyl 350 of about 1968 which Hartle never rode.
I think your right although there was both a 500 and 350 in 1957, in 1968 there was only a 350 as you say which was a prototype and disliked by Agostini due to it's bulk and weight they had not achieved the power to weight ratio of the preceding Honda 350 6 so they went with Ago's choice the 3 cylinder and later developed the 4 cylinder but time had run out as the FIM limited the class to 2 cylinders in 1969 and so began the 2 stroke era.
Was raced in the Isle of Man by John Hartle, was not as successful as hoped. Don't recall it ever been used in anger again.
