dont do this on botaren product. I read the comments which said it could be difficult to pull the two poles apart so I have it a really good wrench , but there isnt a spring inside - and now the whole thing is broken!

Sure. I hope it will help your students better understand the value of wildlife protection and our natural heritage. It would be nice, if you could also mention my channel, so they might see other interesting videos as well. Regards, Wildling

Was it hard to find somewhere to stay when you were there ? I would like to go this year. Do you know if it is September every year ?

lars Klottravare Hi, I stayed at the Pacific Gardens Hotel and can recommend it. It's clean and luxurious for PNG standards. Only downside might be that it's a bit out of town. This year's show seems to be in September again (www.papuanewguinea.travel/viewservices/News.aspx?Pop=1&rqEventID=65). Thanks for watching the video; there's more on PNG on my channel.

Mine only came with one plastic cap. I didn't notice it until I got home, and was wondering if that was some weird new way of designing curtain rods I hadn't heard of yet. But nope: have to go all the way back to the store tomorrow.

This is actually a pretty good product. Reasonably sturdy. The biggest problem is not with the product itself, but with the crappy instructions that come with it. 1. The important thing to realize is that when you pull the inner rod out of the outer rod per the instructions, it is going to feel like something is about to break. That is an illusion. It's merely the friction from the spring. Just go ahead and pull it straight out. Do not twist. Twisting doesn't help. It's probably counterproductive. 2. When you get the inner rod pulled completely free from the outer rod, the end with the spring will emerge last. What you do next is turn the inner rod around, and reinsert the end without the spring back into the outer rod. 3. When the inner rod is reinserted into the outer rod all the way, it will protrude slightly from the end of the outer rod. Grab the protruding part of the inner rod and pull on it until it is just under the width of the opening you want to span. Warning: Don't pull too far too fast. If you do you will have to start over from step one. 4. If the rod is not long enough, gradually pull it out in small increments until the rod is slightly longer than the width of the opening. The rod can then be compressed slightly then jammed into the opening with spring tension without slipping.

+Bevin Chu UPDATE! I plan on repurposing an ORE shower curtain rod as a kitchen utensil hanger rod. I want to loop GRUNDTAL S Hooks over it, and hang spatulas, soup ladles, potato mashers, etc. from it. Basically all kitchen utensils that have long handles. I'm going to jam the ORE rod into a window opening next to my stovetop. Unfortunately even at its shortest, the ORE rod is too long for the window opening. Therefore I'm going to shorten the ORE rod with an angle grinder. I see no logical reason it shouldn't work fine. As long as one doesn't muck around with the spring mechanism, the length of the rod should not matter.
