The music is surprisingly relevant. (We appreciate it.) Halloween is coming up, I'm a big fan. I remember one or two occasions where Halloween themed covers graced either a Superman comic book, or a Jimmy Olson comic or both. Do you know of any others? I have a dozen Micky Mouse and Uncle Scrooge/Donald Duck comics with Halloween theme. And many more Christmas ones. (The only Donald I care to read about.) Anyway, perhaps you have some Halloween themed comics in your archives? Sure would be great to see the covers presented here if you do. BTW. My first costumed Halloween I went dressed up as Mighty Mouse! (Most years a Charlie Brown ghost sheet comprised my outfit! Sad lol )

Love your video on The Rocketeer. I was a little too young to remember when the movie came out. But my parents had bought it on vhs when it came out. As long as I can remember it was my favorite Superhero film. Right next to Batman. It eventually is what helped me get into comic book collecting. Sadly it took some time for me to find any material in relation to The Rocketeer aside from the movie as the Internet hadn’t taken off yet when I started collecting. Now I have my own copy of the #2 Starslayer comic you have shown in the video. Do you know what that issue is worth from a collector standpoint? I just can’t seem to find any experts in my area that could have such info on The Rocketeer.

I created Black Lightning in the early 70's Sometime between 1970-1973 I even drew a simple costume with two lightning bolts, I sent it to DC comics in the hopes that they would make a black super hero to compete with Marvels Black Panther. I did so because of an older friend of mine who happened to be black, and who lamented that DC had no superhero representing the black community. In honor of that friendship I came up with the character for DC. They sent me a postcard as way of thanks. (They made the money and I didn't even get credit. Life is cruel. ) 😥 SMH. All the best.

I had this one! Yep, Jim Steranko, the great Jim Steranko! IMO most underrated comic artist of the silver age. His work on Nick Fury Agent of Shield is what got me to collect that series. And the rest is Marvel history. Thanks for sharing.

If it would be of interest to this channel, and due to this channel generously sharing with everyone on the internet their great collection, I can offer to send you one, or maybe two Donald Duck comic books. They are in very good condition, but then again they are from 2017. What makes them of interest is the fact that they are from Finland! (I treasure finds like this, even if I can't read the language. There is something magical for me to open up the pages of a comic book from another country. Something I saw very little of living in the Baltimore/Washington corridor.) It's just a thought. Sgt. Rock? Enemy Ace? All the best!

Stunning Ditko-Kirby cover art! Even half a cover. I never heard of the Molten Man! Shuckens! lol We used to get these comics with the covers cut in half from the distributers when the unsold comics were returned to the publishers. (I think thats correct? Anybody?) Was this issue #35? I think I had too few Spidermen from before issue forty or so, but back then I was more interested in Daredevil, the Avengers, Tales to Astonish, Tales of Suspense the X-Men, the Hulk, etc. Sigh....☺

Just love those Wal-Mart comic book prices! Charlton used to do the same thing at Reed's Drugs or some such place. Thats how I fell in love with the Steve Ditko Blue Beetle. It may have been the copper age but there were golden nuggets to be found for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I remember this issue, because I didn't have it. But this is my era. I had a bunch of stuff from the 60's. One day around 1969, a guy down the street was going in the military and he dropped off his collection of 800, mostly Marvel comic books, on my curb. You can bet I brought them all in before the garbage man arrived. I remember spreading them out on my floor and organizing and counting them. One of the best days of a ten year old's life. (He told us, my friends and me, of another collector he knew a few miles away who had a truly enormous collection of all Atlas & Marvel comics from 1953-1966. So, the four of us walked to his grannies house deep in the woods of a country road and he wasn't home. Sad he wasn't home. (But after talking with his mom, she sympathized at our devotion and brought out a couple boxes of comics we could read since we had walked so far, and there in one of the boxes was Amazing Fantasy's #15! I held it in my hands!) Thanks again for sharing with us!

Excellent! I found it difficult to find comics from the 1950's when I was growing up. But I managed to get a couple Charlton Phantoms in the late 60's. Sure would love to see any 1940's Popeye or the Shadow, Tarzan or Charlie Chan. Thanks a bunch! (It does my heart good!)

It took a while for me when I was a kid in the 60's to get used to Dick Ayers' style of drawing. But once I did, I was hooked. He is clearly in my top ten comic book artists of all time. This video made me hit "subscribe".

Beautiful! There was that period where Marvel comics was trying its hand at Western Hero or Villain crossovers. And although I didn't have this one I did have a few. Feels good to see them again! Thanks so much! P.S. (It may be of interest for you to know that because of Marvels Black Panther character, I created the character of Black Lightning for DC comics. Thats my creation. I sent it in to them when I was 12 or 13 years old.)

WoW! Thank you so much! Finally a comic I once owned. Back in the late sixties and up until 1986 or so I had a small collection of somewhere between six and eight thousand comic books, mostly DC and Marvel, although I had a couple from other lesser known publishers too, I love this channel! Thanks again. Anyone willing to send me their collection I'd be only too happy to accept anything from before 1979. All the best!

During the release of Enter the Dragon at Madras Anand Theatre l was standing in que to get ticket, a middle aged man came and explained about the movie. He told about the hero of the movie, a man with full of courageous with weapon or without fighting scenes are outstanding. After some time I came to know about that person he was the owner of the particular theatre by name Mr. Umapathi. I saw the movie many times. I was lucky to have a nice time to see the great movie with great persons expert opinion. Evergreen memories.
