How Your Card's Microchip PIN Stays Synced with Your Bank PIN | #FinTech Explained
Here's how the offline PIN stored on a card's microchip stays in sync with the PIN stored at the bank.
The difference in where the PIN is stored allows payment terminals to support both online and offline transactions. In an online transaction, the terminal connects to the bank to verify the entered PIN against its database.
In an offline transaction, the card's chip directly verifies the entered PIN using securely stored data, like a cryptographic hash or encrypted PIN, without needing to connect to the bank.

awesome way to accept online payments in south africa. good stuff!

Good works! Do you need any certifications or requirements of cyber security level for the payment App?
Its a well thought out app.
I've already created Application, like FinTech Neobank, but the one problem is that I'm 16 years old schoolboy, would it be impossible for me to get licenses from Visa/Mastercard?
I don’t think your age matters that much. Or you can let your parents handle it for you? You’ll probably need some kind of a “co-founder”/business partner to be responsible for things like that
Good job mate, always love fintech but they do need alot proven to get user money. May i ask how much fee do you spend on google play just by upload it ? Some detail ?
Thanks bruv 🙏🏽… A Google Developer account is ~$30. That’s roughly how much a paid for the account and it’s a once off fee

Hi, how can one get hold of you
This is my email: solomzi.jikani@gmail.com
You are absolutely correct about languages. I did 3 months of Python for fundamentals. Did about 10 months of JavaScript. Now I am focused on Kotlin for Android and eventual later on I will learn Java for Android. But with strongly typed languages you learn a lot.
Can you teach how design this too
I’m not where I’d start bro
Kindly share any proper document for this payment gateway. i tried with my card details but its return the transaction status 2 (Unexpected authentication result (phase 2)
docs.paygate.co.za/#payhost This is their API documentation. It would fail for a real card since the credentials are for a test environment
*promo sm* 🙏
I think you did a great job
Thanks bro 🤝🏾
Good day , can you explain the notify_url
It’s a webhook. When the payment finishes, Paygate will call the notify url that you provided. The call will include more information about the payment that you just made
@@WiredMartian Thank you , does notify_url works on localhost during testing using Payweb3 .
@@simphiwemthanti7697 The last time I tried it was still working with the notifyurl being localhost. I know it doesn’t work if the return_url is localhost

Why would someone use this as opposed to a traditional savings account?
The ultimate idea was the frequent “silent” debit orders as a form of savings. The idea is you saving without feeling the financial strain. That is, you’re not putting away a chunk of your salary, for example away to your savings once a month. Hope that makes sense
It was exactly what I was looking for! I have the same idea, but in a total decentralized way (defi) where the stickers would be erc721 ethereum tokens and each account using account abstraction via erc4337 from the ethreum network. Have you ever thought this way? Using the chainlink oracle and the Base protocol from coinbase?Thank you very much!
How’d you create your app demo on the site?
It’s basic HTML + CSS website
Brilliant content. Useful to me at this time. Before i came across you video, I had 2 fintech ideas, that i didnt know how to proceed on. This video gives a lot of direction on the way to go. Big thanks @wiredmartian. Are you available for me to share progress and stages with you?
Thanks a lot man 🙏🏾! I really appreciate this comment. Yeah, you’re welcome to share with me for sure
Yo bro, I am in university right now doing computer science and I want to create the same app for South America. Not with creditcard integrated but only with p2p virtual money sending from wallet to wallet. And you can top up with mobile provider call credit. Only I do not know how to make a p2p system so that you can send virtual money to each others wallet without bank/provider in the middle just virtual numbers?
I think it would be quite simple without need a bank integration. You’d just need to define the value of your virtual money and what backs it up. But other than that, I think it’d just be moving numbers
I am on the way building similar to this thing for my client. If you'd give some advice in the initial build out or apis related would be appreciated
Hey man, these 2 video might probably help you with that, ua-cam.com/video/sOTcSElAr2o/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/GaTr6ZprUDw/v-deo.html
Can you share the repos with me, I kind of need them for my project

Alright thanks I understand
Good Day Sir, how can I get hold of you? This is regarding API consuming
solomzi.jikani@gmail.com You can email me and we can chat
Pretty great job! But, IMHO, I don't think this kind of tests can show real value, when all apps running on local machine, and all the apps has no real work load (connection to the database & selecting data, connection to the microservice, e.t.c.) I think is going to be better if you will able to test the application on virtual machine using Virtual Box, when all the apps has the same resources [ram, cpu, etc]. (sorry about my bad english...)
Can you build an app for a crypto payment System?
Anything is possible
node js is single threaded actually it will brow .NET if it utilizes all cpu cores.
I'm using Nestpay but I mostly understand the process which I was looking for. Thank you so much.
What programming language did you use to create the app?
I used Ionic (Angular) for the app. The backend is written with Nodejs and C#
@@WiredMartian why NodeJS and C#? I mean why 2?
@@wilbertdune Usually when I build something, I used a “heavyweight” language for the main component/api. And for supporting components, I use something lightweight and simple like NodeJS.Its easier to whip up a Nodejs application than a C# one for me
@@WiredMartian cool. what happen to your startup?
@@wilbertdune ua-cam.com/video/NLBTVYjTj5E/v-deo.html
Payment fees are not a problem if you use open banking transactions are >€0.50 also you can integrate a payment gateway api therefore you would not have to register as a small payment institution then have the gateway hold the money first check they are a registered electronic money institution. ( something to look into)
Hey Stefan, this project’s initial goal was for the gateway to hold the money so that I do not have to register as a financial institution. So that I could also settle users on the gateway’s account. However, all gateways in South Africa have settle the money. They cannot the money for extended periods so that you cannot “piggyback” on them… Again for all the selected gateways, I could not get anything less than 2% per transaction. And there’s a settlement fee as well. Unless I’m missing something, this didn’t seem feasible for trying to save small amounts of money.
@@WiredMartian Hi there, the 2% fees are card processing fees open banking eradicates this fee as it goes direct from bank similar to bank transfer. I’m in Europe we have had this for a little while now but I have seen development only started in SA oct 22. Also the payment institution should be able to hold the money as escrow for an undefined period of time depending on their license. I hope this helps! You may just be a few months ahead of the curve in SA Edit: I am working on a similar project myself have the finance knowledge just got a steep coding learning curve 😂👌
Mhmm 🤔 I haven’t looked at the offerings in a while. I’m gonna check it out and see if it’s indeed in development cause that’d be great… 😂 Personally coding was the easy part, business, I find hard… Good luck to you
@@WiredMartian get a team and funding bro... you cant do it alone.
Looks great. What software or platform did you use to develop the app?
Thanks bro! I developed it with Ionic
