still works. used this strategy to 5 skull a lot of maps.
just for the ones that have hell bats, you need to take the other upgrade for the archers.
1. Are upgraded characters stronger than base ones? 2. When you use the opposite elements (fire and frost), do they cancel each other or stack?
1. Characters don't get stronger. 2. There aren't opposite elements. Elements works with others. Arcane(purple element) buff other elements.
What is happen with this great game is robot give up
I really doubt that they will give up on those games. One fay we will see DLC for this game or whole new game. Real question is when, and how good that new content will be.

Some videos are made as guides and others are made as crazy ideas that shows possible of the game.
Just used this strategy and was able to clear out the waves with 30 secs to spare. Another Great guide! This was my last 5 skull level needed to beat the game! Thank you!
Archers are easy to use because it doesn't matter how you place them. That allow to spends coins in the pocket very fast without planning that others traps requires.
Great strategy! Flyers are a problem in wave 3. I did some minor tweaks to make your strategy work for me. I spammed Double Volley Bank of Archers on top of the platforms and the rest of the waves were easy breezy! Thank you!
Nice. Every strateg can be improved . I always keep that in mind. Tornado trap with damage upgrade on top of Outpost is good against flyers.

trusty barricades. I noticed in this run you're using DLC items. Is the DLC worth it?
You don't need it for completing 5 skulls. Just place more arcane brimstones where i placed this DLC trap. Is it's worth it? Depends how much you like the game. Those DLCs traps give new mechanics and allow you to play whole game differently. Tons of fun. And game is on sales very often. But if game is boring for you then save your money.
at the start when you waited out that last ogre. and the trap got it before it could swing.. badass dude :)

Yes, i record those videos before last update that makes almost all traps stronger. "Guardian Archer cost slightly increased. Guardian Archer base damage and health increased"

They are not fully accurate and not complete, but I won. wave 1: 2 wall grinders (fliers) 1 archer 2 ice darts 1 tar wave 2: 2 wall grinders (fliers) 1 archer 2 barricades (in middle to force path to left side) wave 3: -2 ice darts (sell) (left side) 3 ice darts 2 gravity 2 tar 1 barricade 1 wall grinder 2 wall arrow 1 archer +1 barricade and wallgrinder, for sappers wave 4: 1 barricade 2 wall arrow 3 ice darts 2 gravity 2 tar 1 grinder 1 archer 1 grinder (middle) wave 5: 5 archer 3 ice arrow 2 wall arrow
I don't see point of it. Because placement is way more important that trap choice.
Thanks again. This level seemed impossible. I did switch out the Carapace for the Rift Scroll one, even though I ended up not making use of it. I also went with the stone staff with Cyngus, because it's my favorite combo. I also analyzed your playthrough and was able to do some things ahead of time.
Are you serious? I just followed about half the video loosely and beat it 5 skull the first time. I've never been able to beat this level.

Crossbow - It doesn't matter at all i use buffed stun because im very bad at aiming. Barricade / Reduce damage Tar - always longer duration RipSaw / Ice Push Trap - stun Spike Wall - stun Gravity Pillar - damage (one exemption). Runner killer Wall Grinder - longer duration. Other sources of slow are weak if we have tar. Archer / regen health Trap Reset - always more re-fire for traps
Please post in description or pinned comment what settings you used on each trap, since you don't show it in the video.
I change only barricade upgrade but others are always the same. General rule is Crowd Control are the better upgrade. If some one will need it then will ask for it. And will get answer with description. But you have good idea. I will made all those maps again to update it and will add those information in description.
Does using acid to increase physical damage count toward the growth ?
Yes, all effects that increase physical damage would improve growth. My favorite would be Launched then Frozen and Stone Staff with launches but Acid also will work.

Saw Launcher and Ceiling Laser was mata more than 3 years ago for one month. When those traps was released and not balanced/bugged. Now they are just bad synergy because Saw Launcher needs a lot of barricades, Ceiling Laser is good only on high ceiling where you can't place other traps.

Yes , this map is from DLC so i used trap that this DLC gives. On 3rd slot Briar Patch is from Tipping the Scales DLC
No longer relevant. How tf can you even get archers for 600!
I recorded those videos before last update makes the game easier. Archers was cheaper but also way weaker.

Those videos was recorded before last update. Since then archers was changed. Guardian Archer cost slightly increased. Guardian Archer base damage and health increased. Now game is little easier.

Also there is bug with archers AI. if there is too many archers then they stop shooting at all. It can happened on low end PC. I guess that why devs change archer to prevent this bug.
This is massively impressive that you 5 skulled the maps with the most basic traps in the game
Fun part is that without thinking i took arcane upgrade for floor spike against cyclops that are strong against arcane :) Floor spike with lightning upgrade should make it easier.

I guess not, but it's another way to play with traps.

I would say decoy and spike floor are two the worst traps. Mace is weak but good enough to be useful.
grinder is so ineffective at its cost
Depends what you mean. Traps has deferent tasks. Task of grinder is catching low HP leaks like kobolds or flyers. It's not damaging trap that can be good main damage source of your killbox.

That is a nice setting for the map when played on easy :-) If you play on riftlord you wouldnt get the "time"-skull if you put your traps there tho. Have fun puzzling :-) ita such a great game
But it was played on hard, and i get "time" skull :) But i played it on previous patch, maybe now is little harder. I will try it letter if this idea still works.

Unfortunately those vids are delayed on release. I recorded them ahead via Stadia, but Stadia was shut down and i cant record more of them(at least for now). Game got big update but reasons behind my decisions of how i build traps still works. I know those are helpful for some people by i'm surprised that this video may be favorite for someone.
what's the point of using fire arrow spitter when there are fire dudes in the mob...? i thought they were immune to fire?
They were immune to fire, but there are no any level where are only those fire enemies. If i would use only ice traps to kill those fire enemies then i would have problem with trolls that are strong to ice and weak to fire. Also On last gate there are no fire enemies and that why fire arrow wall is best there.

what does the gravity trap even do? is it basically just a delay tactic? also judging from this vid it looks like they have unlimited range?
Gravity Pillar is one of the best trap. It holds light enemies in place, other traps can trigger on much more enemies at one time. Huge enemies will be separated and other traps will focus on those huge enemies. Yes, unlimited range, also ceiling laser and molten gold had unlimited range.
cool, i've literally never used gravity trap before. so the idea is that it basically makes your other traps more efficient, right, by spacing out the frequency the mobs approach your traps? (giving the traps more time to reset basically)@@orcsmustdiebybehemut3906

are the arrow spitters actually that good? i feel like i never notice them doing any damage?
Ice is the best element in this game. It keeps enemies in place but also frozen enemies takes +30% bonus damage from Physical and Ice sources. When you place one Ice Dart Spitter then it only freeze and almost don't deal damage but even pleacing only two of them makes huge difference. One will freeze secend will deal damage. Ice Dart Spitter way better when you place them many close to each other. For testing you could place two Ice Dart Spitters to see how strong their are. I don't generally complain on UA-cam videos, but you spent a full 5 minutes placing and selling and placing and selling and placing. Maybe plan before you start recording?
No, planning is one of the most important part in those games. When i place the trap then it's a lot easier to imagine how trap will work. But i could adds time stamps.

Just start recording after you’ve figured it all out so your viewers don’t have to watch unnecessary running around for five minutes. Something to consider in the future.
@refresco I need that planning part. It's good to see my old mindset after years of more experience in the game. But i feel like now i make a lot less of this planning part. Good idea to keep in mind. Also one of future goals is to start waves instantly.
Thanks for the video. I don't understand the strategy where you kill yourself over and over during the game. What advantage does that allow? I don't get it.
Depends of situation. Death is a double-edged sword, it speeds enemies movement and teleport you to the rift room and refill your mana and health. I use this ability to faster run to different lane to help traps deal with enemies, or catch leaks or make enemies die faster and get skull for par time or refill your mana.

Right it's weird. There are no music before first wave, but i didn't notice that for very long time. I don't feel empty there. My mind id full of ideas. I guess i'm too focused on placing trap, to notice that lack of music :)
