The reasoning of the British museum and of the British government for keeping the cultural heritage of other people is simply nonsense. This is simply crap. It looks that British people have nothing of value to contribute to world heritage and need to steel artefacts from all over the world to populate their museums. SHAME! How hidden the history often is to us, passers by...I do hope you got to see the inside of the church, the magnificent original late 13th century frescoes and mid 14th century ones, including the only known representation, albeit heavily damaged one, of one of the most epic and tragic heroes of the late 14th century struggle against the Ottoman invasion (if you visit the British Museum in London you'll see a wonderfully weaved belt of his father Branko). You couldn't even imagine the immense importance of the historical figures who've stepped on those steps, and unfortunately, I don't see locals doing much to help you/us understand it...
