    Brilliant tip - wouldn't have been able to fit belt without this, it was too tight. Made spring puller with a loop of binder twine passed through short length of plastic tube which I used as a handle to pull with. Worked a treat.

      I think they were asking about the spring. Yours came off easily because the belt jumped. How would you take the spring off the peg if the belt was still attached? My belt is looking ratty, and I'd like to swap it out before it breaks. Thank you for the video!

    • @brewersblade4887
      @brewersblade4887 Рік тому

      The Gravleys have an automatic tensioner for the belts. But overall no issue with belts it just so happened to get a stick jammed in there that caused it to jump off.

    Don’t know how that would change it from a starting problem ? I have problems with mine too ! Even when warm I have to start it with the choke on or will not start ! Pain in the ass !

    • @brewersblade4887
      @brewersblade4887 Рік тому

      Robert I understand your pain! I’d say the overall point to the switch is the fact that it simply just makes an easier/faster start. The side start recoil system in my opinion doesn’t seem to turn over the piston as much as it should or at least over time it ends up that way. I feel you get way more of a revolution on the regular recoil pull than the side start.

    • @idea999
      @idea999 Рік тому

      @@brewersblade4887 maybe it requires a greater pull now due to age. Try servicing the carburetor in case that’s what’s causing the delay in start.

      Yes I did say in the video it was in the shop about 3 times. I change plugs, air filter and adjust the valves in addition to having it in the shop. This is just not a very good design in my opinion.

    Why didn’t you just get the 800 C pull mechanism? There was something obviously wrong with your one. Most likely covered by warranty

      @brewersblade4887 2 роки тому

      Did you watch the full video? I did touch on that. I got it and it worked for a while but I have had 2 different side start recoils and none of them fixed the issue. Had it in the shop many times. I have seen many others with the same problem. This was the most cost effective way to fix it.
