Matsuri- A Festival in Tokyo
Matsuri is a traditional festival in Japan which dates back in the 700's. I had the opportunity to join the matsuri that my friend was directing. Its usually hard to film inside the matsuri but thanks to my friend Mr. Asahi, I was able to take some real nice shots. I hope you guys enjoy!

Helicopter ride over Tokyo Skytree
Переглядів 16014 днів тому
I went on a Helicopter ride over Tokyo Skytree. The ride was absolutely amazing and once in a life time experience. If you ever visit Tokyo and need some excitement, I recommend taking a ride. On the plan that I rode, the fare is very reasonable around 450 USD to charter for 15 minutes and max 3 people can ride. I went with 3 people so the fare was around 150 USD each. (as of April 2024) Link b...
An Epic Camp - Deep in the Iya Valley
Переглядів 542Місяць тому
My last stop on my 3 week road trip from Tokyo to Shikoku. I chose the beautiful Yoshino River in Tokushima, Japan for the last spot to go camping. I have been to many rivers in Japan but Yoshino River was on a different level. The camp spot was in the deep Iya Valley secluded from everything but nature. The camp fee is only around 5 USD. They do not do rental gears but I did see one couple fro...

Shimonada Station - A Nostalgic Seaside Railway in Ehime, Japan
Переглядів 751Місяць тому
Shimonada Station is an iconic seaside station in Ehime, Japan. This station has been used in many films and advertisement for the beautiful scenery. It is 50 minutes one train ride away from Matsuyama station so if you ever visit Ehime prefecture, I highly recommend riding the seaside railway. After wondering around the area, I head to Uwajima, Ehime to a Mountain Terrace Farm where only local...

I stayed in Dogo Onsen which is said to be the oldest onsen in Japan which traces back 3000 years. The ryokan I stayed was super cool and the owner loves vinyl records. The mix of an old ryokan and vinyl gave it a real cool vibe. Places: Dogo Onsen Dougoya Ryokan Matsuyama, Ehime

Finally after 5 days of traveling, I arrive in my destination Shikoku, Japan. Shikoku is an island made up of 4 prefecture. In kanji it writes 四国 meaning 4 countries. The bridge was beautiful, Kagawa is super known for Udon. There are 3 major noodles in Japan which are ramen, soba and udon. If you ever go to Kagawa, eating udon is a must! Then I go to a beach with mirror reflections with a beau...

A start of 3 week road trip to Shikoku
Переглядів 5734 місяці тому
I quit my job after working in Tokyo for 10 years and decided to go on a road trip to Shikoku for 3 weeks with my car. Throughout these 3 weeks I will be camping and traveling to many local hidden spots. Hope you guys join the journey with me exploring Japan!
It was breathtaking to see the fog lift as you were crossing the bridge. Could you share a bit more about the various cuisines at each locale? At your early lunch restaurant was that abalone with rice?
thank you! it was pretty scary crossing but once the fog went away i thought it was a miracle! the fish with the rice is called sea bream or some english call it red snapper. in japanese we call it tai and ehime prefecture is famous for it. the dish is called "tai-meshi" which means tai rice. super delicious!
Congratulations on making 785 steps😀
thank you! it was tough but fun at the end🙂
あさひさん、先導役?なの?!めちゃくちゃかっこいい!!🤩
ミスターアサヒ半端ないよね!!!
What an awesome experience! Felt like I was there. I love that Japan holds tight to tradition. Really cool you got to take part as well. What a great memory for you to keep!
thank you! it was super fun and great experience! next time ill try to carry more of the mikoshi!
Really good video, thank you! Did you know if we can go there to only get into the onsen? Without staying in a room in the ryokan
thank you! i just checked their website, they have lunch x onsen or dinner x onsen for around 4000JPY! not a bad deal!
@@NITEFLYTE_86 oh that's really nice! I'm definitely going to check that out 😄 since I'm living in Kyoto a few months every year I wasn't seeing myself paying for a night knowing my room is 1 hour away 😂 thank you for the reply!

I guess in Japan, sighing a lot means relaxation? Beautiful scenery.
similarity there. for me it was mixture of relief, tiredness and happiness. finally arriving somewhere i can sit back and relax. thank you!
Thank you for this tour and for giving a little history too. More journeys and videos please!
thank you! i will be for sure uploading more journeys soon! please look forward to it!
That looked like a blast. Never heard of monja. Looked tasty. UMAI!
it was wild! haha, monja is super good. you should try making it!
I am an artist. My dream is to go to Japan and spend a few days painting in nature. In a similar place as in the video. I'm trying to learn Japanese, maybe in 2 years I'll come there on vacation to fulfill my dream. 🙂
that sounds like a great dream! the mountains and the rivers are beautiful here. i would reccomend autumn season. the leaves turn incredibly red and orange. good luck!
so pretty!!!
thank you!!!
The internet is such an amazing thing. I am currently learning Japanese since the language is interesting and because I love the Japanese visual aesthetic. I had at first wanted to stay for a few months in Japan, but I realize now that travel vlogs like yours are almost as good, if not better than actually being in person. Satisfying virtual reality can be imagined given a 2d source. Yes, the food and smells are absent, but so are the hassles of travelling, nevermind the expense. Your interpretation of your experiences are just as "real" and better than mine could ever be; seeing through your eyes is very amusing. The woman waving goodbye to the restaurant train absolutely humbled me. She is a shining example of what is truly beautiful in this world. Thank you.
wow, thank you for such an on-point inspiring comment. gives me motivation to create more. yes... the lady at the train was a beautiful moment which i will not forget. i am happy to hear you are learning japanese. i do understand traveling here is not easy but hopefully you will one day!
Thank you for posting these messages. I had the privilege to spend several weeks in Japan and hope to visit there again. Kyoto is such a jewel of a place. Hopefully many people will see these videos and learn to properly appreciate Japanese culture.
thank you! yes, Kyoto is something special. i am glad you enjoyed japan and hopefully you can come visit again soon! there are so many nice places especially the country side.
Like your video a lot. I particularly like the narrow road that you went on. As a retired person living in the mountains of Canada. I like to cycle and that road would be perfect. I like the way your videos have an artistic flair to them, keep it up. Good luck to you.
thank you for your inspiring message. it really means alot. i just started making videos so its a challenge everytime. but more videos will come so hope you join the adventure. i would love to visit the mountains of canada one day. im sure the nature is on a another scale!
I really enjoyed the longer video. Another peaceful journey!
thank you! took a long time to edit though... lol
I like your use of almost Appalachian music, which makes me think of the land of my birth. And also the reverence for nature - which is still important here in Norway, where I have spent the last 40 years. I've been in Japan once (work), and stayed in the Yokohama Landmark Tower. But we managed to slip off down small side streets and eat at family restaurants, which were very friendly and unpretentious
thank you! i actually lived near the appalachian mountain when i was younger so i am influenced by appalachian, bluegrass, country music. one of the reasons i love nature as well. i have never been to norway, would love to visit one day. i am glad japan treated you well, hope one day you get to visit the nature and seasons here which i find most intriguing!
This looks like such a nice quiet spot. No gimmicks, not luxury. Just quiet comfortable seclusion.
yes, youre on point! its genuine, traditional japanese ordinary ryokan. nothing fancy. the real luxury was being here without thousands of people around you while still feeling kyoto.
Thank you for this atmospheric video! We all need to reboot sometimes, somewhere near a mountain river. Continued success! Take care of yourself! ( ◠‿◠ )
thank you! yes, getting away from the city and being in the nature solves the answers. much appreciated!
Очень интересное, красивое и расслабляющее видео. Большое спасибо! Подписываюсь и буду с нетерпением ждать следующих видео.
thank you so much!
Very nice made video and perhaps this Onsen will see Me and some of My friends in April when We come to Japan for the first time. I think this Onsen and the nature surrounding it looked amazing. Thanks. Love from Denmark 🇩🇰
Thank you so much! Kyoto is a beautiful city and a must visit destination if you come to Japan for the first time. Although it will be crowded... so this onsen should be a perfect get away after few days in central Kyoto. Such a peaceful village. Hope you have a wonderful trip to Japan!!!
I really loved following your trip! Hope to visit a few spots when I return next year. ありがとうございます
ありがとうございます!im glad you enjoyed it! i will be going on more roadtrips so i hope itll help your next trip to japan!

How far from Tokyo and how to get there?
the fastest would be to fly to matsuyama airport. which is about an 1.20 hr flight from tokyo. then from matsuyama city, its one way train to shimonada station 50 min ride. matsuyama is also fun and dogo onsen is near so should be a good trip!
beautiful place bro:)

メローな感じが癒されるね😊
ありがとう!基本メロー😀
Agreed about udon in Kagawa! I live in Mie prefecture, and although udon are pretty popular here too, I’d always considered them the most boring type of noodles overall. But then I went to Kagawa, and my opinion changed!
Thats cool you live in Mie! I do love Ise Udon as well though. But yes, Kagawa is on a different level of Udon passion!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful sights and local spots in an authentic way. It has been a lot of fun to follow your journey, look forward to seeing where the trip brings us next!
