Garo's been obnoxiously obssessed with tragic villains the past few years and they've yet to really make a compelling one. I like Mutsugi's backstory conceptually, but they don't foreshadow her in any way, shape or form so it feels more like an ass-pull than a twist. Souma's possession still feels forced too; defeats the reason he's around. It's very telling that's you don't have much to say about this episode; 'cause there's not much to say. It's everything the previous episode already did. This whole season really is just Waiting For Godot with magic, isn't it?

This season hasn't been all that great. I like the idea of focusing on the Hagane Knights as they unravel a conspiracy, but the show's spent soooooo much time shuffling its feet that neither of those things've really happened. All we've gotten is a few vague references, daddy-issues that got too much focus and the main hero relegated to "mentor." The "story" has been a shallow mess held together by melting bubblegum and peeling tape - It's almost Donbrothers-like how desperate the show's been to avoid actually doing anything. Everything involving Souma could've been settled in two episodes as opposed to the FOUR we got, the major death that was supposed to be a tragedy was a comedy of errors and the latest reveal with Mutsugi (which wasn't foreshadowed at all BTW) outright feels needless and tacked-on; another excuse to move the goalposts all while invalidating what little growth Souma JUST went through. It feels like the season didn't plan the antagonists out at all and just winged it as it went. I appreciate that there HAS at least been an attempt at character-work unlike KNK: Jinga (I thought the flashbacks with Godou were fine; albeit the wrong time to be having them), but Steel's been padded down to hell with distractions and talking heads that it kinda doesn't shine through.

i like that the riddle in the end is just a dogma for Makai Knights. Those with light desires blood (fight an endless battle, since horror cannot be completely destroy) , not the end (ending the fight is ending humanity itself)

also, what i find easier to do, is putting the sides onto the fish first, and then after all sides are on, i connect the bottom(in my opinion doing it like this is ALOT eaiser)
