I've done one few days ago with rattle noise and was the chain ..replaced and all good

@martvermeule the car from video had only 60k miles soo dosent matter mileage..if you hear noise rattle and is from chain I suggest you to replace it .otherwise will be to late for engine

@martvermeule what kind of noise ? Usually this engines have a small noise like a tapping

@@krisfix1983 I see a you tube about the rattle noise my engine don't make that noise the engine runs nice only it use oil about 1 liter at 3000-4000 km I buy the car by dealer and he say that is normal for this kine of motor my older car Renault 1,6. 16 v don't use oil and have 270000 km

@martvermeule is not normal like dealer says. Engine worn valve seals in time this happens can be lot of reasons .keep the service on time

@@krisfix1983 the chain is replace by 78000 km and mij car have now 169000 km

@ionuttoma8733 hi mate. Thanks for appreciate my work. If you have compression and there is no misfire should be only chain .if there is only chain rattle and nothing else yes is chain

@@krisfix1983 I didn't try to start the car, I just checked for errors and I have DF101. And the right patina or how to you say to this tensioner for chain, was broke. I will buy tomorrow a new chains kit and I will try to start the car. Thanks again

@ionuttoma8733 tensioner is the common problem on this not the chain itself..usually when chain snapped 1 or 2 teth engine is not running right . Will misfire and usually valves broken

Hi .this noise can come for a few reasons. First check swirl flaps noise can be similar , second put some valve lifter solution and drive it for a while to see if something is changing. If nothing changes remove the lifters cover and see if are playing. Thanks

@@krisfix1983 Thank you for reaching out Mate. There No unusual noise on the engine and also it doesn't take oil have no smoke but i think the first owners doesn't change oil regularly.

@@RafaTe-wn7sc drain the oil and replaced. Before put a new oil and filters flush the engine to remove oil residual..be Verry careful with this engines make the oil service on time. No more than 5k between oil service. This is my advice

Check the timing chain.

Swirl flaps, coil pack,or chain snapped

Check the compression as well

@@krisfix1983I managed to take everything besides the front intercooler pipe, I can see there’s a clip there on the plastic, how do I take that one off as I don’t want to damage it?

@@R3VollveR the one on top the egine? Have 2 clips .with a screwdriver pull easily on both sides and you can take it out..don't take them off just pull like 1 cm and unclipp de hose

Hi mate.i will do my best to make a video to explain you maybe tomorrow. You don't need to remove the engine .you need to remove the hose from air filter goes to turbo , wiring clip , the clamp holding the turbo to manifold wich have 10 mils size if I am not wrong..on turbo there are connected 3 metal pipes 2 on top wich have 2 bolts/each 13 size and 1 on bottom with 2, 8 size bolts wich are heavy to remove as no to much space .for me was easy to remove turbo as I had to remove the manifold ..sorry I hope you understand what I am explaining. After you remove all this be careful as looks like is welded is so hard to take it out from manifold ..a heater gun heat to manifold and after hit turbo easily to comes out

Hydraulic valve lifters mate this was the problem. There is a video posted with the problem..swirl flaps was removed and all checked

Find a fuse diagram for Mercedes vito and you can find the location

Hi mate...First remove top cover and move the lifters one by one and if you see play on them be sure the noise is coming from there..remove the cover , coil pack all bolts around and check .if everything is OK there and nothing is playing check the intake manifold swirl flaps. You can see a vacuum on right side with a pipe on it .that one adjust the swirl flaps in intake manifold. If the noise goes away problem is from there .please send me a video if is possible.noise can come from injectors as well if not to loud.

@@krisfix1983I have one fully broken and rocker hit into spark plug well, so got to repair hole and replace. I really need advise how to take out cam without taking entire chain off

@@DanSmith27 unfortunately you need to take the chain out to remove the camshafts. You need a blocking Timing tool find on ebay around £15 and you can remove the chain without problems

@@krisfix1983 ah I thought I could lock the sprockets at top and take the one cam out, it’s the exhaust side, that sucks!
