    "It was the hardest thing we've ever done in our entire lives." Agree 100%!!!!! We got a Climapod Spirit 7x14, and honestly we are appalled at how horrible the instructions for assembly are. We're not stupid, we've done many DIY projects over the past 35 years, but this Climapod has taken me to the very limits of my patience. Thank you for your videos, they are so much better than any of the official Climapod videos (which are atrocious, FYI). To anyone considering a Climaopd Greenhouse: They are very sturdy (which is important to us because we live in an area with a lot of winter storms), but be warned that the instructions that come with them are utterly worthless. Have fun with assembly (not).

    Guess what? I did begin maple seeds with no kit. Then on May 15, I got the same kit. I soaked the seeds, about 4-5 I each dish, and let them soak 2 days. Then I planted them in the pellets they came in and in the bags. Being that the Brazilian Rosewood needed more warmth, after about a week or more later I transferred the pot outside in the sunlight, with a baggie around the soil bag and zipped up. And now, I have spouted 3 of the Brazilian Rosewood, and of the Black spruce (I believe ) two are growing. I just noticed it today. The warmth of the weather helps, along with the plastic baggie because it creates like a greenhouse for them. I am excited but being very careful. The water is kept moist from the baggies. The other one has not grown but I guess some take longer than others. We will see how big they get.

    I really appreciate your videos and you honesty. I just built a Virtue with a friend of mine. I am a retired millwright mechanic and he is a retired mechanical maintenance tech. We built it in my shop on a level concreter floor. This build was one of the most frustrating things I have ever done. The instructions and drawings are terrible. Several of the drawing details are poorly or incorrectly drawn and the Chinese instructions are baffling. One of the biggest issues is the square head bolts and the gaps/slots that the square head bolts fit in. If they had made the bolt heads thick enough to have mostly filled the extruded gaps they fit in, it would have saved a huge amount of time and frustration. I cannot even begin to count how many times I lost my grip on the very short bolts because they would drop in the slots and slide away. Fitting the poly panels in the extruded ribs is also a nightmare. One of the things I found out the hard way, that believed was clearly explained is caulking all the panels. I assumed just the outside of the greenhouse needed calking. This Spring after all the snow and ice went away I discovered that condensation had formed inside almost all of the panels. I don't know if caulking the panel joints would have prevented this or not. I'm certain that over time, when a small amount of dust has migrated inside the poly panels I will start to see some build up of algae/mold. Structually, I believe the greenhouse is sound and several times this winter, there was at least a foot of snow on it. One of the roof vent poly panels popped out of the vent frame, becaus the poly panels are too small to completely bottom out in the frame channels, so you have to be very careful to center the panels in the frames before you siliconecaulk them. The design is cool and it looks great when finished, but the execution is extremely poor. I would not buy another and I would never recommend it to anyone, except maybe my moher-in-law.

    I am trying to do the same, with no kit, only seeds gotten from across the pond. I have red maple seeds. On the website there were instructions to soak the seeds for 24 hours in warm water (not hot). Then after this, it was written that you need to "stratify" the seeds, by putting them in the refrigerator for 3 months (in a baggie filled with some damp soil, not a lot). This process is supposed to get them ready for the winter. It's May now, so I will take them out in August and see if any have sprouted. Once I take them out I will plant them in a lava soil ready for bonsai trees. But some even say you need to treat the seeds with a special solution to get rid of any fungus they might have. Meantime, I think getting the red maple seeds from trees in the fall as you can pick them off the trees, will work without stratification. I will try that too. It's a long, steady process. But I'm patient!

A light spray of 1 part bleach to 10 parts clear water; OR light spray of white vinegar protects seeds from fungus. Allow every type of seed to dry completely. "

If you are a salseman, then you absolutely sold me on this!!! 😁

    • @ClimapodGreenHouseandGardening
      @ClimapodGreenHouseandGardening 9 місяців тому

      I am not a salesman, just a guy with a camera that decided to have fun video taping the build. I will forewarn you that this kit is a pain in the neck to build (read the comments of the other videos)! If you have strong winds, I recommend you build your own out of scrap wood and old windows like a lot of DIY people do. You can even build your greenhouse out of pallets which is cheap and strong. I did a video about a guy that built his out of pallets. Anyway, I would hate for your climapod to get destroyed due to high winds. If you do decide to build a climapod, reinforce everything (I have videos on that I think). Put it up where there are a lot of trees so the trees can be a barrier (hopefully a tree won't fall on it). Good luck!

    I received the same kit as a gift. My kit has instructions on the back of the individual seed packets for germinating the seeds. They are different for each type of tree. I believe you need to keep the seeds soaking in consistently warm water for 24 to 48 hours (depending on the seed type). Then, there are instructions for each type of seed on how warm to keep the soil (ie 65°F to 85°F). They recommend using a heating mat for this step. Each seed type has a varied amount of time before it will actually germinate in the soil (ie 7 days to as much as 45 days!). The point is there's not a one-size-fits-all approach. It's also a slow grow process. I'm mentioning this info in case anyone else receives this kit or buys one.

      @@ClimapodGreenHouseandGardening thank you for your response. I'm referring to the gable in the middle that you connect the front and back gable to. I can't figure out if I'm supposed to put the glazing bars on both sides of it or just one side, and then I can't really figure out how to mount it because the slots on the bracket holding the base together don't line up. The specific piece I'm talking about is 961, and the glazing bar is v943. Do the glazing bars sandwich 961 in the middle? And how the heck do you mount it. These Instructions are super vague so I've used your videos to get me this far.

      I had issues with this as well. I don't have my instructions any longer but I looked at it and there is a Y metal bracket that both top bars do attach on both sides. Two bolts on each side. I am sorry if I am not much help on this one. I don't work for Climapod, I just thought it would be fun to make a video on how much of a pain it was to put the thing together! You really need to look at and study the directions over and over again. Climapod also has installation videos that may help with this or give them a call.

    got one in home depot for 500 bucks. it's NOT a bench to work, most to "show up" in a man cave and hold your shit on it sort of table, i have mine showing all my audiophile stuff, holding a heavy subwoofer and so. its pretty and capable to hold some weight. drawers opening system suck, steel gauge on the thin side.

      I use mine for gardening. I start seedlings and have plants on it. Besides the couple of issues I showed in the video, I like mine a lot and the drawers work perfectly. Thank you for your comment! Please subscribe if you have not already!
