Bealtainski svetilniki / Beacons at Bealtaine
On May Day 2004, Ireland hosted the Day of Welcomes to celebrate the accession of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia to the European Union. Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney was commissioned by the Government of Ireland to write a poem for the ceremony. To mark the twentieth anniversary of this historic day, his poem, ‘Beacons at Bealtaine’, has been translated into Slovenian language by Nada Grošelj.

How beautiful! When people synchronize for positives reasons the result is always uplifting to all. Reminds me of how black Americans coordinated and synchronized across communities in the 1960’s to successfully advance their civil rights. Black Americans now see a reversion in rights because they have neglected to be in synchronization with one another for the cause. This video is a reminder of how collaboration for a common cause is a thing of beaity.
