    Hi do you have any videos emptying the fuel water seperstor? The manual is very confusing on the subject. Thanks

      Great question. I haven't had a chance to change mine.But I've been instructed on how to do it. I was told it is important to empty the filter before it overflows (duh). There is a metal screen at the bottom that can be cleaned a few times before replacing. Process for emptying it. 1. Machine off 2. Turn fuel feed lever off 3. Unscrew metal ring 4. Pull down tube holding water 5. Dump out fuel/water 6. Check screen and clean if needed 7. Screw back in place 8. Check for snugness 9. Turn lever back on 10. Turn machine to first key position and wait for filter to fill 11. Once it is full you can start the machine. You may need a wrench to get it off. I might do a video on this at some point. Hope this helps!

    So is this the first oil change? Just purchased mine and I’m getting close to 15 hours

      Congrats on your machine! Correct, the first oil change is recommended at the 50hr service, which also includes hydraulic oil change, rinsing out the fuel cell and checking the control valve. Subsequent service intervals are listed in your manual.

    How would you compare this to the Stihl 800 blower pack

    • @TheAvantGuy
      @TheAvantGuy 4 місяці тому

      Different tools for different jobs. A backpack blower sends out a much smaller column of air. When it's almost touching the object, a backpack blower will lift large wet maple leaves and move soaking wet pine needles. These are things that the Avant attachment won't do. However, with the larger column of air the attachment can move rocks and logs that my backpack blower could never move. For most residential jobs, a backpack blower is better, it will allow you to get into garden beds and other tight areas and since most residential jobs require collection, being able to switch quickly to a rake or tarp is ideal. For large residences with big lawns, parks, parking lots, streets, etc, a machine based attachment has some advantages. Once you are off-loaded, it offers greater mobility and speed. Bottom line is you can get more done faster, for comparison, it takes about 35mins to blow off the driveway in the video with a backpack blower and about 11 with the attachment. But I can get a backpack blower off a truck and started in just a few seconds. It takes a lot longer to load/unload the machine.

      @@Viralclown Yes 100%, still puts a smile on my face. No regrets. But nothing makes me happier than seeing my wife blow off our driveway with a lightweight battery powered blower.

    When changing the reservoir filter under the boom, why are you not using the red safety cap for the hydraulics?

    • @TheAvantGuy
      @TheAvantGuy 8 місяців тому

      Yes that cap under the boom is missing. I have a replacement, just haven't put it on yet. From my understanding the capped zerks are factory filled and don't need to be greased. It actually could over pressurize a seal and damage that cylinder if filled. Man you don't miss much.

    Hi since i did an oil change the machine doesn't go forward or back. It lifts the loader slowly. Is there any point that would be good to release an airlock. I tried on the loader but was unsuccessful

    • @TheAvantGuy
      @TheAvantGuy Рік тому

      That sounds really frustrating. I'm sorry I haven't run into this problem myself, so I don't have experience with airlock release points. I do know that my machine took more hydraulic fluid than I expected. I thought it would be around 8 gallons and ended up being much closer to 10 gallons. When I first did the change I had 8 gallons come out. So I replaced those 8. When I tried to use the machine, I had a some performance issues. Adding and checking the levels carefully solved my issues (make sure your boom is retracted and up when checking hydraulic fluid also the cap needs to be screwed in and not just rested on the tank). I don't know your situation but that could be a potential issue. If you find your tank is filled correctly after cycling the engine a bit and you're still having problems I would reach out to your dealer or Avant tech support.

    I believe the 520 has a 18hp D722 engine which has slightly less HP than the 528 25hp D1105 engine. They are both manufactured by Kubota so servicing them should be very similar. I don't have a 520 so I can't verify. I can't imagine they would spec different oil weights for these engines. However, I would search up a manual for the D722 Kubota engine to make sure. You can also reach out to your local Avant dealer or Avant Corporate if you are still unsure. But yeah, basically it's the same.

    Morning. Quick question, I’ve just upgraded from a 423 to a 528. When I go up a hill without enough revs the revs die down, even if I put the throttle forward, it doesn’t respond until I ease off the Excelerator pedal. But on my 423 it accelerated when under hydraulic load. Do you have this problem? Also as the technical support line have told me, it’s standard :-)

    • @TheAvantGuy
      @TheAvantGuy Рік тому

      Hey Phillip! Congrats on the upgrade, hope you are enjoying the 528. From my limited understanding these machines it could potentially be one of a few things. It could be that your power control valve may need adjustment, however that typically needs to be done around or past the 50hr mark, this adjustment isn’t necessary for all machines, there is a factory lubricant that flushes out of the power control valve which causes the machine to go out of balance in certain cases. Most likely you are pushing too hard down on the foot pedal, which can cause the machine to bog down going up hills or with a full load, this is normal for any machine that uses hydraulic motors, try using less pressure on the foot pedal and see if that helps. The last thing I would check is to make sure you have enough hydraulic fluid in the system, as that may also cause a loss of power. As to why these were not an issue with your previous machine, I’ve never owned a 400 series so I can’t speak to that. If you are still having issues, I’d get in touch with your local Avant dealer and see if they can help out!

      @@TheAvantGuy many thanks for the reply. Yes it’s nice having a bit more room in the cab and to able to lift more weight. I loved my 423 but was always at the maximum load.

    If the inside of the filter is dirty, you've gone far too long without changing your filter. Don't wait untill dirt is going in your engine to change it

    • @TheAvantGuy
      @TheAvantGuy Рік тому

      You bet, good advice. Inside is still clean. These filters are good for 6 exterior cleanings or up to a year. Manual specs to change them once you can't see daylight through the filter. I only have 50hrs on the machine... It's good for now.
