This reminds me there’s a festival in the Netherlands that is 4 days straight of walking 50km in 12 hours, and there’s a big party at the end of each day, and lots of beer pit stops along the way! Maybe worth looking into for version 3?
@@SachaSacha998 you had me at lots of beer
Can’t wait to see v2 when you start after a full nights sleep - also maybe a support crew could help? People to meet you along the way with snacks, pick me up activities? Bandaids???
70km!!! That’s crazy!! And also props to Alex for doing it after a 10h bartending shift? I assume that’s mostly 10h already standing. So impressive!
Insane
Did you ever find out if we're alone in the universe?
Unfortunately can’t say for certain until the challenge is fully complete
Things got pretty grim there at 7:00 am
An emotional roller coaster
Again, respect my guy. Way to throw up the X on this one! 🤝
lol this is awesome
For your 2nd attempt in the Summer, instead of having another person do the full 24 hours with you, it might be beneficial to have 3 people do 8 hours each with you. They can each show up with food and water for you at preplanned destinations. That way you won't have to stop for food and they won't be as tired and can push you to walk faster.
Wow ok that is actually a really good idea. Will definitely use that strategy!
Good effort, but really it's a walk in the park ,graded trails all the way ,tea houses everywhere, not to difficult
Great video mate, I’m also heading up in April 25. How did you manage such a small group of 4 people excluding the guide and porters?
@@stevedixon154 thanks Steve! We got lucky with the small group for sure, 4 was a great number. We only booked as two and it just so happened that only two others booked out same itinerary on the same start date. The small group size allowed us to really get to know one another and never feel like we were either rushed or slowed by anybody. Have fun this April, you’ll have a blast!!
Nicely done ✅
wow ! that's an adventure ! thanks for sharing

Hi. I am planning to go solo for this treap next year in November. I also live in Canada as you guys and I do not have many mountains to train. How hard was the 21km coming back the last 2-3 days? I am a bit scared
The way back is by far the easiest part! As the oxygen returns to your body, you feel stronger than you were at the start of the trip. Believe us, the hard part is going up! You got this, do some stair training and some cardio and you’ll crush it
@@MasonQuesting thank y for getting back to me. Can y please share how y guys trained and which company did y used?. Since I am going alone and there are soo many. I am not sure which one to pick. Between himalayan social journey or alpine ramble treck 😕
@@fabiolavallejo6314 our company was Green Valley Nepal Treks - reasonably priced and they took such great care of us. If you can request Bishwa as your guide, he will not let you down. For training, there's really nothing you can do to prepare for the elevation. That hits everybody differently. Definitely recommend taking medication such as Diamox to help mitigate the effects. We went on runs, did hikes (in our hiking boots with our packs on) and just tried to get our legs ready. But if you have a perserverant mindset, there will be no issues getting all the way to the end and back!
Amazing! I’m about to book a solo trek in March .. can I ask who you booked through? x
Green Valley Nepal! 12 Day EBC Trek
Very cool video thanks 👍
What an amazing video. I’ve been watching EBC vlogs for quite a while now, just thinking about saying “fuck it” and going solo. Now THIS is the video that made me say “fuck it” and buy a flight to Kathmandu in May next year. I am beyond excited and I can’t wait to experience the thrill of this journey ❤
That makes me so happy to hear! You are going to have such an incredible time. Know that it's more of an adventure than a vacation. It's hard but so rewarding. Truly believe it's a life-changing trip that anybody who CAN do it, SHOULD do it. Wishing you all the best on your adventure!!
@@MasonQuesting thank you so much! I’m so ready for an adventure!!
How much did the whole trip cost per person once in Nepal?
Including the trek, all the transportation, guides, food, and lodging in Kathmandu and the trek, I’d say 1500 USD a person
@@MasonQuesting thanks a lot! Great video
What sports watch were you wearing that had the altitude on it. I'm going in Nov 2025 and I'm checking out gear
Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar - a bit of an investment but totally worth it! Didn’t need to charge it the whole trip!
24:26 what happened to take only picture, leave only footprint ? That's graffiti.
It's a tradition for those who go to basecamp and a lasting memorial of an accomplishment. Totally agree with the sentiment elsewhere but that's what that one rock is famous for!
Great video. Quite informative! We are planning a trip to EBC as well. Can you please share the name of the company for your trip? The one you hired for your trip, porter and tea houses. Thanks!
We used Green Valley and did the 12 day trek. They were incredible from start to finish!
Folks -You did it! Congrats on your achievement on this awesome trail! Look forward to more videos.
Thank you very much, looking forward to making more!
What was the month that you take this?
We went during April!
Lol that is not wanted poster, She is an Information officer for the Airport.
keep it up
Thanks for visiting Nepal
Loved this! Going this October, can’t wait!!! Did you guys take Dimox?
Sure did, was tough enough with it, can’t imagine without!
Hi guys, If you dont mind sharing, How much did it end up costing you? I'm saving up to do this from Toronto too, just want to be sure my target is correct!!!
So we booked the flight on points, but the tour inclusive of flights from Kathmandu to/from Lukla, the guide, the porters, all food and drink was $1300 USD per person!
@@MasonQuesting Thanks man! This video just made me even more excited for this journey... Congrats!!
@@abhaylal8979thank you! Highly recommend Green Valley as your trekking company if you go, and ask for Bishwa! Best of luck!!!

Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
there isn't much convenience for transportation to Everest Base Camp, but hiking there is truly a fun and enjoyable experience. Enjoy your trips and love from Nepal!❤️
part of what makes it feel so isolated and special is just how tough it is to get there to begin with!
Hi from Kathmandu Nepal 🇳🇵 enjoy in my beautiful country 😊
It was an awesome❤, amazing, magical trek of my life . ,I completed it on May 2024
