Ajahn have you renounced vaccine conspiracy theories? I ask because I'm trying to decide if I should take you seriously, maybe become somewhat of a follower and attendant to your message.

Thank you, Bhante. Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu. Always enjoy your talks on Devas, cosmology and Indian philosophy. Your internet was nice and steady this time. I hope the fly that landed on the camera at about 33:55 was able to make some merit from listening to the sutta discussion.

I haven't read it, but there's a book out called "The Half-Life of Facts: Why Everything We Know Has an Expiration Date". This supports the view at 27:00 that our knowledge isn't strictly cumulative, but is a leaky.

Ajahn, it is probably not the case, but vpn can affect internet signal (VPN will slow down your connection because it needs some of that bandwidth for encryption purposes). But I did hear from my Canadian friend who works in the wilderness planting trees that internet quality there is bit glitchy. They probably need to plant more internet signal boosters as well. :) Thank you Ajahn!

Love what you said about physics and Buddhism. There are way too many books that traffic on that collision of domains.

Mahavira and Makkhali Gosala were contemporaries of Gautama Buddha as both were active during fifth century BC and were present in the greater Magadh area. They were central figures of Jainism and Ajivikas. I was expecting some reference of them.

There's an awful lot of connection issues which is a real shame.. is pre-recording not an option? and then answering comments questions the following week?

May I suggest to do a live stream without the video? The bandwidth should be sufficient for pure audio transmission and a still image might be a good supplement for the audio.

@@leorivers7759 If you click on the channel name "Ajahn Punnadhammo" under the video, or on Bhante's photo next to that, you will come to the main page for this channel. There's a link there to the Arrow River website, with information about the location and visiting. EDIT: Yes, if you're in the US you definitely need a passport to enter Canada.

I had heard of Buddhism for a long time, when I was young I might have even considered my self Buddhist but didn't know where to learn anything about it and it faded from my mind for awhile. What brought it back to my attention ended up being a video game series, Shin Megami Tensei, which has different beings from varies mythos in it so interest in the cosmology ended up getting me fully into the practice. 😊

Thank you for this... I noticed that Jhana starts easiest when the focus is on the very small point of physical sensation of the breath at the nostrils without any attention given to the perception of the in/out breath. The smaller the focus on that small point, the better. I like how you talked about the mind needing to catch up to the body's slowing down - the breath becoming nearly imperceptible. Eventually, yes, the mind slows down too and they get in sync again. :)
