I live in Cape Town, I’ve always wanted to try my hand at fly fishing. Being someone who doesn’t even eat fish, I love the respect you guys have for nature. I also love camping and getting out of the city. It feel it’s only natural that I try fly fishing. Just for the way it draws you into the wild. Thanks for the videos it’s inspiring.

sadly cape nature is allowing pollution, non-permit parties along the river and dangerous characters living in the bush and living off the river.

By the time you have set up it time to go home, air compression and move alot quicker 😅

What rod was that? I have caught too many catfish of that size with a 6wt 2sec (not always by accident 😅). Never had a flyrod pop like that. 5wt 4sec has sent sections flying, but never broken.

Book - "Tying Flies with CDC" - Leon Links, covers fly tiers like Martin Fratnik (F-Fly), Henri Bresson, Marc Petitjean among others and has some really good cdc. If one wants some indication of cdc dry flies this is recommended
