Mr. C here. Oh boy where do I even begin? martz is such an interesting and talented opponent to face and this being my first time against him, cemented that for me. This was a week after my insane JdAsH win, and I thought I would dominantly lose 0-2 against martz here. I just told myself, “I’ll try my best”, and I ended up taking game 1. I couldn’t see how people were reacting to it because I was playing, but even through the headphones I heard shock when I won. Game 2 was a blowout, obviously. It took last stock of game 3 for me to figure out what to do and I showed some signs of a comeback. Game 4 is a little embarrassing for me, not because of martz’s comeback, but because I pretty much allowed it to happen by becoming complacent. Complacent against martz of all people. While I let my own hubris get the better of me, it still reinforced a valuable lesson that it’s not over until it says game. Winning or losing. I know I’m capable of even more than this, but I’ve gotta stay grounded in reality and can’t ever let my guard down against anyone, let alone the #1 seed. I’m happy I got this far, but I’ve still got a long ways to go. Special thanks to Grog for reminding me to actually enjoy the game the day after my JdAsH win as I will admit, was on edge about keeping up my performance. Love y’all!

Mr. C at it again. I don’t really have much to say about this set other than my execution on things could’ve been better and I’m glad I won. I did land Booyah the first game though, which I’ve been working on being consistent at especially at the time this match took place, so I’m proud I landed it again in bracket. That’s all I’ve gotta say here.

I’ve decided I’m gonna do “journal entries” (dunno what to call them) for each of my VODs. Basically summarizing my thoughts on each set. For this set, I’ll full on admit, I got matchup checked hard and I feel I let my gameplay worsen as a result. I was definitely not expecting Terry to be as floaty as he is, so that made it harder for me to catch landings. Though I feel like next time, even if I’m still not used to the matchup, if I stick with my fundies, I can take the set. I did manage to get him to last stock the last two games, so it’s not that far fetched. Hopefully I can find a way to make these longer in the future.
