Looked through several other SoL videos on YT that have lyrics, but most were not clear enough IMHO, so took to creating a version of my own. Credit to Ralf McTell for the original song. Credit to JediRedShirts for original video here: ua-cam.com/video/M2r97Fo_HWE/v-deo.html Lyrics taken from www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/mctell-ralph/streets-of-london-11076.html, with ammendments.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
How convenient, gov creates, then makes laws to legally end them. Everyone better go free before it is too late. Especially homeless and migrants. Gov Imports migrants, and everyone for the same gov still that wants to end them. Just like homeless. Not many deserve heaven for following along with governments plans, plans to end everyone, not set free. True.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
Without a doubt the most poignant song we will ever be privileged enough to hear. There but the grace of God go I.
Ein London ist in jeder Stadt!! Wir wollen es nur nicht wahrnehmen !
Stress of Birkenhead. Blow your mind,I’ll tell you.
I care. Life is hard. Sharing a little of your heart can go a long way. Kindness matters. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
What a waste it is now. 😢
We used to sing this in primary school assembly in Balham ❤️
It's " I'll show you something to make you change your mind " !
The great first Understanding of the Buddha and the Christ.... Deep Suffering IS a Reality NOONE escapes. For most human Egos it takes a long time to give up all the defenses against this TRUTH. Everybody suffers...no escape... Acceptance of that Truth can be the beginning of wisdom and compassion....😘❤️🙏

in the year of 1977 i came to london with my mom, she taught me this song, becouse she loved it. she is no more with us but this song remembers me on her and her love on london. anytime i hear this song i cry, couse i remember her
Beautiful song.
The ravages of war and PTSD and how it ripples through the generations...tragic💔❤️🩹
So a friend tells you he feels lonely and depressed. Instead of trying to listen and understand why, you simply dismiss his feelings, act moraly superior. You take him to look at poor people. Not to help them, but just to feel better about your own life?
❤was hast du gesehen, wenn ich bei euch gesessen habe, während des Unterrichts,❤wenn ihr Musik gemacht habt ,war ich da neben mir 💚abwesend, verträumt,da gesessen ???
I have always had empathy for the homeless and the lonely, because I used to be one of them. So much tragedy in life.
We can only sing the good song, and tell you good story here n now
It was the Cat was my favorite song as a boy until Paul McCartney sang "And I Love Her" with the Beatles in 1964, and then when John Lennon sang "Strawberry Fields Forever" with the Beatles in 1967, that last remaining my favorite popular song.
A masterpiece
Young people are awful, they are the worst kind of human in this day and age. When we ruled the world it was all good and nice. This new generation is awful!
"In the winter city the rain cries a little pity for one more forgotten hero and a world that doesn't care" Hits me every time
While I appreciate the message and its truly beautiful. But even though I’m surrounded by people I am incredibly lonely and low, I know people have got things much worse than me and I should be great for what I have but honestly I’m done with life and some days it feels like it would be easier if I wasn’t here
Carry on! If it helps you to listen to music, you can try "When I am gone" by Phil Ochs or "Wonderboy" by the Kinks, they may be helpful in your situation. Maybe you can also try to get a hobby, maybe play some instrument?
Nice song
0:24 - Ay-up! This guy looks like Compo!
❤❤
beautifull "old" song and shown with recent images , top
A great city ruined by that ****** Khan!
Honte
0:38 I have been homeless 14 years and human kind have forgotten about me. She's alive😂
😢 Tegan Thompson I love you Dad
The hope still in the guy at the end, in his eyes. No one should be living like that in 2024
I remember that we used to sing this in folk singing at school.. (the Ralph McTell version) that was nearly 50 years ago and I think that it made me a more empathic person. Life is sh*te then we all die.. you are not all that matters.. You are part of a bigger picture and if you don't see that then I pity you.. Stay blessed, people 🤔😘😉😜
This songs are for we lost our people in the war for them
Is this work still in print? I’ve found a vocal score on imslp but it doesn’t include the dialogue and the print quality leaves a bit to be desired.
Sadly London today looks like Pakistan/Syria.. Soon Europe will be gone 😢 sad..
Bro what
❤❤❤Don't know why but this song has always been a favourite of mine. Too many people just don't care. Love this ❤❤❤
A Very Beautiful Song That Kids Of Today Wouldn’t Believe That It Still Happens Today !
what deverent now
This song, since 1974 when I was in England, helps me a lot anything time I feel sad ❤
Auf Spruciy bussiy
I remember when my class sang 'Streets of Cardiff' for our school play which was based on this song
I only just recently heard this song. I believe it was Sinead O'Connor. Surprisingly.
I've no idea how I know this song but I've had the chorus in my head for days and finally found it.
Most people do not care. I am often ashamed of being a human. I feel other peoples and animals pain and sorrow and it hurts me.
30 years ago I gave a homeless 20 German Mark and my Dad was angry with me....His words, he have to find a work. That made me sad. We are all humans and we didn't know what happened to the persons
I think most people do care but are also scared of becoming homeless it could happen to anyone. we don't want to be reminded
You care about your fellow man.
Perhaps the odd A.R.K. (Act of Random Kindness) now and again would help to lift your spirits?
@@eallawson7601Pay it forward. Absolutely. Your comment is brilliant.
Perfect song for A Street Cat Named Bob. Wonderful book...
It's a promotional song for Wimbledon here
This brings back memories, Olivia Lorna. Can you remember we sang this age 7 or 8 with Mr Webster?
"Have you seen the old man In the closed-down market Kicking up the papers With his worn-out shoes? In his eyes, you see no pride Hand held loosely at his side Yesterday's paper Telling yesterday's news So, how can you tell me you're lonely And say for you that the sun doesn't shine? Let me take you by the hand And lead you through the streets of London Show you something to make you change your mind Have you seen the old girl Who walks the streets of London Dirt in her hair And her clothes in rags? She's no time for talking She just keeps right on walking Carrying her home In two carrier bags So, how can you tell me you're lonely And say for you that the sun doesn't shine? Let me take you by the hand And lead you through the streets of London Show you something to make you change your mind In the all-night café At a quarter past eleven Same old man Sitting there on his own Looking at the world Over the rim of his teacup Each tea lasts an hour And he wanders home alone So, how can you tell me you're lonely? Don't say for you that the sun doesn't shine Let me take you by the hand And lead you through the streets of London Show you something to make you change your mind Have you seen the old man Outside the seaman's mission Memory fading with The medal ribbons that he wears? In our winter city The rain cries a little pity For one more forgotten hero And a world that doesn't care So, how can you tell me you're lonely And say for you that the sun doesn't shine? Let me take you by the hand And lead you through the streets of London I'll show you something to make you change your mind"
So true, heartbreaking reality 😢
Nice song I been homeless but not too that extend but you never know what round corner in life how life hit you Trials and tribulations But still here with mental health things change one door open thing changes reality make us stronger every individual hope 👍
