    Mais alors pourquoi les écologistes s'acharnent sur le plastique qui est propre , léger , recyclable ...les écolos veulent revenir aux temps des hommes de cro-magon. Le PET c'est génial. Leur acharnement tient plus de l'idéologie , de la plastiephobie une maladie mentale incurable.

    There are only 25 PET recycling plants in the US, which is why most PET and the other 6 types of plastic are trashed. Europe is always better at recycling than us.

      @@allenr7306 You don't have a choice. And they don't leak microplastics into the water, otherwise they would stop making them. Our municipal water supply is very safe, and I drink water from my sink, as everyone in the US should. I do buy plastic bottles with seltzer.

    Cool. It seems to work on coloured plastic, too, which is something that, according to the news this morning, we can't do in NZ. So they go to landfill. Whatever happened to Kiwi ingenuity?

      It sorts coloured plastic with non-coloured plastic, but you can't just mix coloured plastic with non-coloured plastic (else you will get a mix of the two). You can recycle coloured plastic, it's exactly the same process, what should absolutely not be done is mixing different colored plastic. Also most industries need non-coloured plastic, and then they color it themselves.

Also that doesn't solve the problem that, for each color, you more or less need a whole other pelletizer, so that's even more money. In big city like new york or paris they maybe have the budget. In small city i am not even sure if they have a pelletizer

      @@serzaknightcore5208 Firstly, in the US, the government doesn't run recycling, private companies do. And in the entire US, there are only 25 plastic recycling companies. So most of it isn't recycled anyway.

      I wouldn't say nothing, but indeed there leaves a lot to be desired with US waste management. But there are sporadic instances of recycling, particularly closed loop recycling, in the USA, which are of considerable merit. But, om balance, it radically varies and is all over the place.

      They chopped down trees to burn in their homes for heat. Ceilings were mayby 2 m (6 ft) high to conserve heat. Took an hour to ride the buggy into town via horse drawn carriage. Things are different and we like our bottles. They're cheap, easy to make and don't break during transport to your store. The list goes on...

      In your kitchen there is a thing where water come out. If you don't have one, ask your friends. If you bought one of those bottles, or some other type, you can put water in it. Take that bottle with you where ever you go. When its worn out, get another one. Kidding you, my friend. I hope you don't mind.     The bourgeois, the spawn of the Capitalist Conseratives, are being broken and it is less of turning post-consumer PET plastic into door shingles and into mud flaps for truck wheels and into speed humps, and increasing volumes of post-consumer PET now going back into bottle and plastic container production. The bourgeois either only understand creative disposal or do not understand or totally reject closed loop recycling. But closed loop recycling is clearly the oncoming thing. This upload is relatively new, still only a few months old.

      It can and it does. The problem is alot of times that Vergin plastic is cheaper and 100% pure vs recycled.
