Like the herald of free enterprise disaster I would definitely describe the ever given in the Suez Canal in Egypt disaster ten times worse than the titanic sinking disaster which happened nearly 113 years ago in 1912. But this disaster was one of the worst in Europe
This is the reason why i didn't trust 80% of Muslim around the world.
Captain, Master, Pilot⁉️ There are simply too many job roles here to keep track of 🥸👀
Amazing work by the Denver
Actually if anything I’d say this ship was run aground on purpose so they could make a bogus claim and get money for nothing?!?! And look it’s our friend at “Whats going on with Shipping “ Sal?!……and wow that Julianne Cona 😘😘❤️🔥🔥💥….gorgeous
Wait until you find out this was a remotely controlled operation by a team of child protection agents😳🤷♂️👍
I read a lot of comments about how corrupt their canal system is... and how it's a danger to the world economy. So why doesn't the rest of the world do something about it... like demand a change in how the canal system is run.
These pilots are not just expert in navigation but also in hassling the Master for Cigarettes 😂😂😂
Your pple mess up n you hold a ship for a crazy huge amount of money...bro you pple need to take accountability for your own actions..!..better still jus let the captain pass through at their own risk...coZ what's the point of your pple doing the job n blame the captain when things go wrong.... 🤷.....EGYPT- Suez Authorities you pple need to have a SPINE....
@23:10. Selfish Captain when the world is involved..
960 million dollars..... My goodness, some people are really not from this world But let's be honest... piloting such a ship in small canals is asking for it if you ask me. It's always the same..... Alway's there has to happen something first before they even think to do something against it. And even then they won't do something. MONEY peeps... MONEY
Sex sells.
Mooi
If a human made canal is in the hand of a 3rd world nation, you get 3rd class pilots, officers, even admirals.. It should be taken from Egypt and internationalized.
Julieanne is GORGEOUS !! ❤❤❤
The title of this video is ridiculous in some way. It should be “How Ships Crash”. But, then, this is the BBC isn’t it? Propaganda factory for the world.
There are clearly a lot of people commenting here, who know absolutely zero about how ships work...
Pilot’s payslip for this month should be like: x Salary $5,000 x Bribes $2,000 x Deductions - $1,000,000,000 = You owe - $999,993,000
Calling to let you and dad know we r having a problem on the boat....i know we r watching it lol
If the pilots didn't get on board it was better and they had the nerve to seize the ship.
Windy my ass, more like female driver
the only way to avoid when passing a severe storm in Bay of Biscay is not to push the ship all along the way ... take evasive actions turn back find a safe refuge and or avoid the storm with severe winds; inform stake all stake holders that delays would be less expensive rather than capsizing.... when passing Suez canal on such huge vessel with lots of windage - have tugs boat escorts tied on both ends ... there would expenses for tug services rather than huge amount of expenses to remove grounded vessel in the Suez Canal ... stake holders would be happy for Master's decisions... on this case pilot is also a part of the accident and held also responsible ....
What a terrible documentary. It's slow, it's full of padding - and in the end we learn almost nothing. Don't waste your time.
Julianne is smoking hot
Just fyi: the panama canal is not in South America (around min 20)
Why the hell were businessess asked to pay for the salvage??!!
Brilliant question! It was just glossed over...but I think that's hugely fraudulent action by the ship owner. I suppose he knew he could ask a ransom fee, because people were desperate for their goods. Ship owner also wanted to recuperate costs after being snaked by the Egyptian port authority.
Yeah I got the message. Your ships are getting too big already. YOu havent got the message. Dont worry! It's coming!
How about the Pilots on board..??
Why I am seeking EverGreen?
Absolutely bizarre that Joe Businessman in the UK with cargo on the ship has to pay what amounts to ransom of $25,000 to get his cargo back. Is there such a thing as shipping insurance that can cover this potential peril?
That was blackmail, the cargo was not damaged or lost at sea so he should not have paid and still got his cargo, as a business owner he probably would have had insurance on the shipping anyway In the Netherlands the shipping company would never have been able to extort you for money on cargo that is legally yours.
Vote up if you believe this was deliberate.
@@Look_What_You_Did Sticks and stones child.
kanaaaal
Bogus government owned channel... BBc the white mans evil channel Sorry not being racist but just factual
If the two sets of pilots were communicating in Arabic, its little wonder WHY there was "miscommunication" on the bridge. Isn't there an INTERNATIONAL standard requirement for all communications to be in English??
Juliann is quite.....fetching.
she has one of the best looking engine rooms at sea
The Girl However seems Delighted by the Event 😂😂
Her dubious "fifteen minutes of fame". Don't know that I'd want to put that incident on my Resume, though...
Sex sells.
True dat 😂😂😂@@johncurcio3621
@@richardpchaseii5084 why? She was on the ship behind the Ever Given
Dig another channel some place else as well
I in thee hell did the world get so dependent on shit coming from China. I mean this is total BS. THIS NEEDS CHANGING FAST according to these people reporting.
Anyone who has a rational brain would agree that the pilots must guide the Captain as to how exactly the Canal needs to be navigated especially in stormy situations. Its not an open sea where the aptitude of the captain comes to play but a canal which theauthorityy knows a lot better in all extraordinary circumstances. Authorities cannot shrug off their responsibilities and simply are there tk collect the toll fare. 🙄
I know nothing about ships, but why did the guy who had the kitchen company have to pay $25000 to have his goods released buy the shipping company? It was for sure nothing to do with him,the grounding of the ship!!!
That is blackmail in the UK.
@@apaijmans You are right on that one!!
The man in charge of the Suez Canal sees the largest ship in the world beached and says "we realised it would be difficult to float this ship". If there was a Nobel prize for understatement, he would have got it.
I do not believe a WORD the Egyptian’s say! It’s cultural, lying is OK there! Losing face is NOT!! PS. Always always have insurance, or don’t complain!!
Was the Capt. of the boat that sailed into a hurricane drunk??? He had to be! No sober captain would ever sail INTO A HURRICANE!! I have heard it is not unusual to have an alcoholic captain. Just horribly irresponsible of him. Drunk or sober!! The sheer arrogance of that man! He might as well have taken a pistol out and shot his men! Sailed in Alaska, my foot! He killed his men!
Just amazing! I, like everyone else watched this drama unfold. Thank God it was not worse. It could have been like a car pile-up on a freeway. But the news didn’t ever tell you the reason the Evergreen crashed. Great documentary, thanks so much!!
@@Look_What_You_Did I don’t believe in God, it’s an expression of gratitude. Why you so touchy???
You want to know the complications of a supply chain!? well here is one of the most complicated supply chain problems evergiven
Sand diggers
The Suez Canal was built in the 19th century for relatively tiny ships. It's the equivalent of a single-carriageway A-road. If there are 2 pinch-points for nearly all marine traffic around the world, both of these either need to be widened into motorways, with at least 3 "lanes" in either direction (making both the Suez and Panama Canals 6 times wider); or the age of megaships needs to be curtailed, with such ships barred from either canal and having to go round. This is usually fine for the Cape of Good Hope but Cape Horn in the sub-Antarctic presents its own dangers.
This was an amazing engineering project to sort this out. Well done folks 🤘😎🤘But let’s not forget the sailor who lost his life RIP 🙏❤️
Indian crews are top class in the world better than Europeans and north Americans
It was a warning, like the Nashville Christmas bombing and the Canadian bridge closures right before the Ukraine war started.
