Yari Wowe // A Father's Love (A Short Poem)
My grandpa and I used to hang out on Sundays and he loved when I played my guitar for him, even back when I wasn't that good. Truth be told, saying I was decent back then would be generous. I'd play the same 4-5 songs on repeat every weekend lol. After he passed away though, I found his secret collection of old records, turns out he was an avid music lover like I am and that explained so much of his patience and wonder. He just liked music and saw a vision in me. Now that I look back, he was one of the very first people to really cultivate my love for this instrument.
All of this to say, playing the guitar alone on Sundays feels a bit different now. I'll forever miss those times. For anyone missing someone on the other plane of existence, this one's for you.
A Father's Love highlights the complexities of father-son relationships. As I grow older and become a man myself, I now understand it more. Maybe it's an inevitable realisation that comes with adulthood.
Anyways, to anyone reading this, I'm glad this found you. Hope you liked it.
Catch you guys next time.

It's okay to be "soft", there's immense power and strength in that. Taking care of your mind, self-awareness and gratitude are all forms of power over self. I hope you enjoyed this one and I wish you all the best! - Self

This piece means a lot to me. I remember the first time hearing it and I was just taken aback by @marumbopoetry1240 's talent. Unmatched is the first word that came to mind. Thank you for telling your story on here, it's an absolute honour.

Pan-Africanism is needed now more than ever. With conflict, violence, political instability that eventually lead to war it's impossible to say otherwise. It's a message of unity, it's a message of the betterment of everyone on the continent, it's a story of empathy and power. The heroes in this video saw it as a cause worth dying for, giving themselves up for the freedom & betterment of their p...

Prod. by Rémdolla When people talk about black history, these days at least, we tend to forget about Africa. Africans (generally speaking) aren't taught their culture & history in schools but they could easily tell you about European or Western history, and that is a sad reality. It is also knowledge that was told orally, not written, making it infinitely harder to keep solid records of. This p...

Your story really hit home for me. It’s amazing how music can create such deep connections and memories. Your grandpa sounds like he was a wonderful person who truly saw the potential in you, even when you were just starting out. It’s beautiful that you found his secret collection of records; it’s like a hidden treasure that connects you both even more. Playing the guitar on Sundays must feel different now, but it’s also a way to keep his memory alive and honor the bond you shared. Thank you for sharing this. It’s a reminder of how those we love continue to influence us, even after they’re gone. Keep playing, keep remembering, and keep sharing your art with the world. I hope that one day, you’ll be reunited with your grandpa and enjoy everlasting moments together. As it says in Revelation 21:4, ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’🫂🫂🫂
I appreciate your kind words so much, thank you for sharing!

Accidentally landed on you accidentally and you’re so inspiring! I love such atmosphere!

Hey! Can you show behind the scenes of what it looks like to bring this project forth and share it with the world. Specifically the thought process.
that’s a great idea! i’ll look into it
Really moved by the words🥹literally spoke what most of us think as individuals ☺️
thank you linda, i’m glad to hear that 😁
Beautiful video, the text, the imagery I love it! You get better every time ❤
thank you so much kesha
Religion offers a very comfortable idea to a lot of people. Having the knowledge that no matter what you're going through there is someone always by your side and that no matter what happens in this life the next one will be a million times better. But i just found that to be 'to easy.' I can't say whether or not its true but it comes with so many caveats that dont match the other parts of my identity so i had to find meaning in something else.
ultimately, it's what you give meaning to that defines your life and existence so I hope you find meaning in things that bring you happiness man

I love kaybee and her friend! (Not sure they said their names). Honestly love the “love is good, love is healthy, if it’s with the right person.” W video Romeo🫶🏾
Glad you liked the video and Kaybee😂
Jessy 😁😁🤭is that you 👀😂🫶
Just amazing 🔥❤️
Thank you!
Atleast we can all agree that the dating aspect of our generation is fucked up😭
“I believe love is good, love is healthy if it’s with the right person” is my stance😂
Amazing video! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The content was engaging and well-presented. Keep up the fantastic work!
thank you! glad you liked it🖤
Keep up the great work
thank you
This is amazing ❤!
thank you for being such a cool part of the video kaybee!
Ngl this makes me think honestly from like a lot of prospectives dats actually nice but I think it's more of wat ppl chose to have n do instead of the generation itself 🤷🏽♂️
That’s a different perspective I’d definitely like to think about. But at the end of the day, if the majority of the people in your age range behave, think and do things similarly then it’s an accurate depiction of the generation you’re in, even though you might be different as an individual.
This video is something else. I've always wanted to give you an idea to make a video just like this. Keep up the great work, it's truly amazing."
Thanks bro I appreciate it 🖤
It's interesting to have all these perspectives, it makes me reconsider certain ideas
Most definitely, I agree!
